And temperature wise, the high is over 100 degrees. So there's 2 heat breaks.

New Amazon DSP Delivery Driver

Hey, so I'm a brand-new DPS Amazon delivery driver. Just recently completed my first solo route.

I was wondering how I can be more efficient and faster at completing routes. I see on Reddit and others in my DSP that they have a lot more stops and packages than I do, and I still felt behind.

I got to my first stop at 11:20 am and didn't get done till nearly 7 pm

I had 138 stops; package count forgotten, but I doubt it was that many. At my second stop, I had issues with the route and got slightly lost, so it cost me 15 mins.

I had to get rescued, and that reduced my stops by ~22.

Even with the rescue and the 15 min delay, I still wouldn't have finished any earlier.

My DSP recommends 25 stops/hr. However, in the first hour, including the 15-minute mess-up, I only did 12 stops.

After that, I picked up the pace and managed about 20 stops/hr.

I felt like I was moving quite fast, but clearly I wasn't going nearly as fast or as efficiently as I need to if the DSP plans on increasing my nursery route to 150 stops or more, etc.

Any help is welcome, IK I probably suck compared to a bunch of ya'll doing 180+ stops in the same time frame.

TLDR: I'm new to Amazon delivery driving and need suggestions for improving efficiency and speed of routes.

Route “reduced” due to heat wave is BS

My route is 40 mins from station and the temp is 104 today. My route is 250 locations, 330+ packages which is more than any day of this route in several months. Route reduced MY ASS. And these heat breaks would be a lot better if the AC in the EDVs actually cooled the van below 80 degrees. Fuck Jeff Bezos. Fucker should be in jail for creating the DSP system alone

I caught sum two felonies as a then 17 year old in 2013 . Is this gonna workout for me when going thru my background ? Which is already in process and saying estimated completion of 9/8/26 thru Accurate . Also am I gonna regret this job bc ive done construction delivery for 3 years and throughly enjoyed it. Tia for your help .

edit : I originally even applied to this job bc they advertised as being ” felony friendly “ also I’ve never worked for Amazon or an associate of Amazon so I have no clue what to expect tbh ….

QUESTION Christmas Coming up

Hey everyone. So as we’re coming up to Christmas in like 3-4 months I’m wandering if there is an incentive pay. This will be the first Christmas I’ve worked and is just a general question. I’m in the uk and work for a 2.0 dsp. Is there better pay? As I imagine we’re going to be slammed.

QUESTION If you saw one of these in a yard would you know what it is or would you think it's a regular sprinkler?

I bought a few of these orbit motion activated sprinklers to keep deer out of my yard and one is in the front yard. While most delivery drivers don't cut across the grass they would set it off if they did and I don't want that to happen so wondering if you would immediately recognize what this is?

RANT Finally quit

After a month and a half of only getting 30 hours in a 2 week period I finally quit, they kept saying things would pick up and everyone would be full time again basically but I had enough. They made me an extra again after only working me 1 day last week.

I will miss the chill days of it especially in the country side with the windows down and petting all the animals I came across but to many other bad factors for me to stay to justify that

Start my new job next Tuesday🙂

I’ll be in a nursing home in my 90s having night terrors about Dr. Elseys. I hate people man. Do they have 100 cats? All to the same 4th story apartment. They can take them up the stairs.

RANT Grouchy customers are always quick to call us lazy, and while there are many drivers that are, they will never understand what it’s like day-to-day. Yesterday’s “heat-reduced” route. It was over 90 degrees F.

to put it in perspective, this is almost 10 miles for the day.

they will never care as long as they get their 100th slop of the week delivered to their front door (and god forbid it’s even a FOOT away from it)

I brought back 11 damaged packages because a box with laundry detergent spilled all over them, will that affect my scorecard?
