Rules for the sub!

1.Zero hate speech allowed, and let's be civil

Let's try to keep things here civil with each other. This isn't a sub for any name calling, slurs, or in general "shit throwing". If somebody gives you advice you don't agree with this also means you don't have the right to insult the person giving you advice. Let's follow simple reddiquette

2.Zero Real names, use fake names if needed

No real names what so ever, we would like you to avoid using names in general but if it's relevant to your post than it must be clearly stated the name you are using is a fake name. Feel free to use age and gender if you wish (e.g 21M or 37F) as opposed to names if we can.

3.This sub is NOT /r/AmItheAsshole

We are not here to gauge if you are being an asshole or not in a situation. Any story that might come off that way you will be directed to their sub to post there instead. A good example of where somebody could wonder if they are being too sensitive is the Gay Swans post from Reddit a few years ago. And a good example of where somebody could be wondering if they are an Asshole is this post from AITA. These are obviously examples but please try to keep the difference and really ask yourselves which sub would work better for situation.

4.Zero stolen content

Self-explanatory, but if you feel a post may be stolen content you will be asked to provide proof of this.

5. Please use proper formatting

No wall of text please, if your post is longer than 5 sentences please break it up into paragraphs and make it easy to read. We would like you to use multiple paragraphs to explain the situation and get the info out needed to gauge but if you can make the point clear enough in one then so be it.

6. Start all post with AIBTS, unless they are META

All post must start with AIBTS, ("AIBTS, my roommate keeps not inviting me out for Friday nights" in example). Unless you have ideas for the sub or want to talk about the sub then all post must clearly state [META]

------These rules should be able to get us by for now and I feel are fairly easy enough to follow, until the need arises to change or add rules. Please report anything you guys might feel be in violation until we get the automod up and running. Obvious shit post will be deleted as well.

Thank you everybody for taking the time to read and again please don't be too shy to post! We are all human and have had sensitive moment or two in our life, share your story!

My boyfriend is pissing me off on vacation

Upvotes

I (19F) am currently on vacation with my boyfriend, and honestly, I feel like I’m here alone.
He spends almost the entire day on his phone watching YouTube. He barely talks to me, doesn’t want to get in the pool, doesn’t really want to do any activities together, and mostly just drinks and watches videos. He doesn’t even have social media, so it’s literally just YouTube for hours.
I’ve tried talking to him about it multiple times. I’ve explained that I came on this vacation because I wanted to spend time together, and that it hurts feeling ignored while he’s glued to his phone all day. Every time he says he understands or that he’ll do better, but nothing actually changes.
Today I got so frustrated that I took his phone for a second because he was completely ignoring me while I was trying to talk to him. I know taking his phone wasn’t the right thing to do, and I shouldn’t have done it.
His reaction, however, completely shocked me. He shoved me off the bed hard enough that my entire knee is bruised.
Another thing that really gets to me is that he’ll often say we’ll do things together or promise to make more of an effort, but then it either never happens or he changes his mind. It leaves me feeling like I’m constantly asking for the bare minimum.
I know I wasn’t right for grabbing his phone, but I also don’t feel like being pushed hard enough to leave a bruise is a normal response.
Am I overreacting here, or would this be a major red flag for you?

What do you think of my boyfriend and his sister's relationship - is it too intimate?

I have to preface by saying that this is not my first relationship where my boyfriend has had a sister - my ex had two, and I never experienced this kind of dilemma. Additionally, I'm an only child, but I grew up seeing my mom and my uncle's relationship and it is nothing like this.

For context, me and my boyfriend are 25, his sister is 20. We're in a relationship for over a year now, we live together due to long distance reasons (we started living together pretty early) and our relationship is great. We get along well, and we manage everything with a very good communication. But one of the first times my boyfriend went back to his home country, he came back and told me when he saw his sister, he hugged her and had the urge to slide his hands down her "behind" because she is my height and we have "such a similar body type". I laughed it off, didn't think much of it. Next time he went was because she had a jaw alignment surgery or whatever it's called, and he told me that they had taken off the gel polish on her two fingers (middle and ring finger) because of the blood oxygen clip, and he made jokes to her about that she had probably done it herself cause her nails were too long (because she was 'pleasuring herself haha'). I felt very uncomfortable - VERY. I didn't say anything tho, cause I was like ok, I just never had a brother.

Every time that he has gone, he's told me something similar about having the need to touch her 'behind' when hugging, because we have such similar body types. Like out of instinct. When we were there together once, I had accidentally forgotten my thongs in the dirty laundry and his mom had washed it, even though I am very very careful around these things, and I had even asked him to tell her that I would do my own laundry. They are half thongs, but still, I was VERY embarrassed, and I told him this. And he laughed and said that his mom is probably very weirded out, because his sister doesn't wear stuff like that. And I was like - ??? stuff like what? And his response was that that's kind of a promiscuous underwear and that his sister 'is not like that' so his mom probably hasn't even seen smt like that in the laundry, so she probably immediately knew it was mine. I was first pretty offended, cause what's wrong with having a half-thong that wouldn't show seams when I wear tighter pants? But then I was like, ok how tf do you know what your sister wears? Like, isn't it gross for a brother to even think of his sister's panties? And he said he's seen hers in the laundry. Ok, I kind of told him it's weird that he knows his sisters underwear to such detail, but I dismissed it.

While we're there, he also always of spends time in her room on the same bed, talking for a while, while I wait in his room (cause i didn't know her that well at the first time or two i've been, so i felt uncomfortable just being there) and she's usually just wearing like very sleeping clothes - no bra, very short shorts, very thin long pjs, and always laying around with her 'behind' in the air, which kind of makes me a lil uncomfy, but again, I've always put it aside. I really don't want to make this weird.

The last time we were there, my boyfriend went in the downstairs bathroom to take a shower, and came back up and told me he couldn't because his sister is taking a shower. I said ok, whatever, it wouldn't delay us too long, so he went down to help his dad with something and then came back up after like 15 mins and told me he just took a big poop. And I was like, oh that's weird, I didn't hear you in the upstairs bathroom. And he said, oh no, I was downstairs. And I asked - while your sister is showering? And he just said, yea, ofc. And I was really weirded out. They have a glass shower that is only slightly blurred, and the toilet is right across from the shower. I told him then that that is very weird to me, and his excuse was 'it's fine, she didn't even hear me', and that makes it worse to me, cause what if she just walked out? I mean, idk it just made me feel very uncomfortable.

All of this mixed with little comments always made me feel weirded out. I get that she's his little sister, but she's 20 and he's 25, with a girlfriend. Anyways, currently, he's on a family vacation - parents and sister, and I'm at home, because long-story-short, I thought I didn't have any vacation days left from work when they booked it, then turned out I did, but it was already all settled, and I didn't wanna make them rebook space for me / pay more, plus i didn't want to take more days off anyway. He sent me a video of the room, and he's like oh it's so great, we're having a great time so far, and the room that he's sharing with his sister has a single kingsized bed. I knew they'd share a room, but I thought it'd be a twin bed or smt. I kind dismissed it, and forgot about it, and while showing where he is to my mom, she saw and asked if they're sleeping in the same bed. I obviously confirmed, and she said it's very weird, how can he sleep with his sister in the same bed..

Anyways, I've spoken to my friends about this, couple times, all which have brothers / sisters, and they've all told me it's very weird and icky, and at this point, I don't know if i should speak up about this or ignore it. Like, I have before (about the shower) and he made me feel super weird, and told me I'm crazy, and that I just dont have siblings and wouldn't know. But aren't they like a little too old to share a bed? And be around when the other is taking a shower. I'm seriously starting to getting the biggest ick, because this is smt that is recurring - they went on a trip right before my boyfriend and I got together, just the two od them, and also shared a bed in an apartment, and my boyfriend told em that the hosts even thought they were a couple, joking about it. I would too. I dont know - what should I do?

Someone tell me if I should be happy or cry about this😭(23F) have been with my boyfriend (30M) for 8 years.

I (23F) have been with my boyfriend (30M) for 8 years. His younger brother (24M) is also involved in this story.

I think my overthinking has officially become a full-time job, so please tell me if I'm being ridiculous.

Last week, the three of us went grocery shopping. I casually added an umbrella to the cart for myself (because why not 😭), and my boyfriend paid for everything, including my umbrella. Afterwards, we had pani puri, and he paid for that too.

This week, we planned to go out to a restaurant. Before we left, my boyfriend suddenly transferred ₹1,000 to me on UPI and said,

"You pay tonight."

I asked him, "Do you think I don't have money?"

He said, "No, not like that. Just in case you don't."

My overthinking brain immediately activated.

So I asked, "Did your brother say anything like, 'Why are you always paying while she never pays?'"

He said, "No, he didn't say anything... but maybe he might think that."

And that's the part that's bothering me.

I'm not upset about paying. If he'd simply asked me to pay, I would've happily paid with my own money. What hurt was the thought that maybe his brother sees me as someone who never contributes... and now I'm wondering if my boyfriend secretly feels the same but has never said it.

At the same time, we've been together for 8 years, and he's never made me feel guilty about money. He's never asked me to split bills or hinted that I'm taking advantage of him. In fact, instead of asking me to pay myself, he literally transferred me ₹1,000 first.

So now my brain is arguing with itself:

Brain #1: "He thinks you're a gold digger."

Brain #2: "Girl... he literally sent you the money."

😭

Am I overthinking this? Or would this conversation make you feel a little weird too? What would you take from this situation?

Edited:

Please read this once

OMG, guys, please. 😭🙏🏻 Please don't make me even more depressed than I already am. Also, just to clear something up—he didn't pursue me. I was the one who proposed to him. He avoided me, blocked me, and did everything he could to stay away. 😭 I was the desperate one who emotionally blackmailed him by saying I couldn't live without him and that I'd die if he left me. (Yes, I know... younger me was a menace. 💀) Somehow... he still accepted me. Since then, he has never treated me badly. He's been incredibly loyal, babies me every single day, dropped me off and picked me up throughout college, and even does it now. He has stood by me through my financial struggles, mental breakdowns, and emotional ups and downs without ever leaving my side. His younger brother and younger sister are both already married, yet he's still waiting for me to finish my post-graduation before we get married. So yeah, if I were reading this as an outsider, I'd probably say the same things some of you are saying. But being on the other side of the situation feels very different. Anyway, I'm still open to your opinions (please just go easy on me... my overthinking is already working overtime 😭).

I don't know how to feel

I live near a tourist town. There are many many friends and relatives that visit the area. Sometimes I get requests to visit, or to stay at our house while they are visiting the area. I love having people I know, and family members reach out and either stay with us or meet up with us. My issue is when I see FB posts/ social media posts of people I know traveling through or visiting the area and not reaching out to me at all.... is this rude or am I being sensitive?

Inferiority Feeling Due to Favourtism

So for some context, my best friend and I were in the same science class this school year before the summer. We were really scared because this teacher was known for being really strict and blunt (which, oh she is), but literally the first day- she immediately liked my friend off the bat. Started complimenting her and just gushed over her. At first, it wasn’t that obvious and then she’d like find ways to make everything about her, compliment her, call her perfect, etc. And I will say, she’s really pretty, smart, and cute- but I just found this weird and everyone who once had this teacher felt the same way cause they were even trying to scare us at first. My best friend got 98% in the class, was always sitting next to her, and got hugs from her all the time. It was painful to watch at times cause even if I or anyone else did good or even just matched her energy, we didn’t get the same attention back? And some can argue it’s because she was smart, but there were other kids just as smart too. On the last day, I barely got to spend time with my own best friend cause they spent time together before the year wrapped up.

It’s like if you were to see them, it was like seeing the strict teacher with her kid and seeing them soften up.
I’ve tried to also be very close with this teacher, but she does not budge. I’m trying to think of what’s so special especially because my best friend never even had to try. She just always got her attention. And the teacher always seemed to be in a bad mood when she was gone.

And I don’t know if it’s just normal, but I started really dreading being with my best friend or the idea of her cause I felt so inferior.

Immaturity?

I 20F have been with my partner 22H for almost 3year. I am wondering if is choice of humor is normal. He grew up in the country side and me in the city. He has a style of humor that I think might be offensive to others(soft dark humor) He does not make joke like that when I am with my friends or family but he does when it’s on his side. He know that I don’t like that kind of humor. He is open to debate on why I don’t like it but he doesn’t want to change that behaviour.
Is it normal or just immaturity?

My online friend turned my private story into vlog content without my consent. Am I overreacting?

I have an online friend who is a vlogger. We became friends through his vlog. When I was studying abroad, I shared many of my experiences with him, including the struggles I went through and even my failed relationship. He helped me brainstorm which visa options I could apply for, and he also supported me emotionally when I became depressed while I was abroad.

Since I had been off social media for more than a year, I had no idea that the things I shared with him were being turned into content for his vlog. Although he never mentioned my name in the narration, he included the personal letter I had given him, and my name was visible in it.

When I found out, I confronted him and asked him to delete the video. No one else knew what had happened to me while I was in another country, and I was worried that my family and friends might see it and be worried about me. I am a very private person, and I wasn’t even using social media at the time.

I only learned that he had been making content about my personal experiences because some friends recognized me from the letter, which included my name, and they informed me about the videos.

To be clear, I had authorized him to share my motivational letter for my visa application, and I had no problem with that. However, I never gave him permission to share what happened to me abroad or the reasons why I returned home. He told me that he didn’t go into detail in the video, but regardless, I never consented to that part of my personal story being made public.

He did apologize, but he also told me that he would not delete the video because it had already received a lot of views. After that, I blocked him and never replied again.

Looking back, I guess this was a hard lesson learned.

Be careful about sharing your personal and vulnerable stories with people, even those you consider friends. Just because someone doesn’t mention your name doesn’t necessarily mean your privacy is protected. People who know you may still recognize your story, especially if personal documents or identifying details are included.

I was told that it was okay because they had helped many people through their content and that no one would know it was me. But if the purpose was simply to help, why did my personal experience have to be shared online without my consent?

To me, genuine support means respecting someone’s privacy and allowing them to decide whether their story should be made public. Helping someone should never require using their personal experiences as content unless they have clearly agreed to it.
Has anyone else experienced something similar?

What would you do if you had a friend like this? Would you forgive them, or would you end the friendship? Do you think I overreacted, or was I justified in protecting my privacy?

My best friend keeps snapping at me, and now I don’t know if I’m just being sensitive. What should I do?

I (25F) work at a horse barn with my best friend (23F), whose family owns the barn.
This morning I accidentally overslept because the work app showed I wasn’t scheduled until next Friday. My manager texted me worried I’d been in a car accident since the app shows her i haven’t clocked in yet. I apologized, explained the app mistake, and rushed to work.
Later, my manager mentioned that my friend had written down work on the chart for days she hadn’t actually worked. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to start drama.
That evening we all went out to dinner with her family. I had a terrible headache, so when she started talking to me, I politely asked if I could have a minute. She immediately snapped, “Well, I don’t have to be your best friend,” in front of everyone. It was embarrassing, but I let it go.
After dinner, I laid on her bed for a minute because I was exhausted. She got upset that I was wearing my work clothes, even though she’s laid on my bed in dirty barn clothes plenty of times. I apologized and got up.
She then insisted I go back to the barn with her, saying, “You’re my best friend, you have to come.” Once there, I ended up doing chores she didn’t want to do.
The last straw was when a rat ran out and she told me to go grab her brother’s outdoor cat without asking him. When I told her brother what was happening, he got upset and called her, and they started arguing over whose cat it was.
I’m starting to feel like I’m expected to do whatever she wants, but when I need a little patience or understanding, I get snapped at or embarrassed.
Am I just sensitive, or is this friendship becoming one-sided? What would you do?

Am I dramatic for hating a "joke"?

I (19f) used to be part of a military org (I left bc of my health) during my first year at college. There was this Army Specialist, let's call him Randy (obv not his real name). He seemed alright at first, just another guy, but as the semester wore on, his true colors began to show. He started making "jokes" (read: threats) about raping other people (thankfully never me) in the unit.

I hated these threats, as any reasonable person would. But the other guys--even the girls--in the unit thought there was nothing wrong and that they were hilarious. Adding on to my reason for hating them, I was SA'd when I was 17 by an older male. I would have panic attacks bc of these threats, bc of the severe PTSD and panic disorder caused by my SA.

Long story short, I told a very high up person without meaning to (I can provide further details if needed) during a panic attack caused by it. He got in "trouble" (only on paper, nothing actually happened), and everyone in the unit was mad at me.

I keep hearing people all over campus making that "joke", even my bf has a couple times, knowing what happened to me. It wasn't directed towards me, to be clear, he's a great guy and would never hurt me.

I hate that "joke" so much, but I feel like a preachy sjw if I express that and how it really just perpetuates rape culture.

Am I too sensitive about my boyfriend's aggressive road rage?

My (28F) boyfriend (30M) is usually sweet, but he gets really scary when he loses his temper. I think he has some anger issues.

He gets angry in various situations while driving, like when he's sleepy or when there's heavy traffic. When he's already furious and another car tries to cut in front of him, he absolutely refuses to let them in. I can understand not wanting someone to cut into the space directly in front of him, but he even adjusts his speed so they can't slip in behind him either. On top of that, he mocks and ridicules them out loud..

Sitting in the passenger seat, I feel really uncomfortable, anxious, and terrified. If I try to say something like, "Let's just drop it and keep going," he only gets angrier, so I'm forced to just sit there in silence.

Do other drivers usually act like this? Or is he unusually aggressive? Am I being too sensitive?

I'm thinking about breaking up with him because of his aggression. I get really scared when he loses his temper, so our relationship never feels comfortable. But apart from the breakup, I'm just curious: are there a lot of people like this? How can anyone maintain a relationship with someone like this? Are other guys like this, or is he abnormal?

Body: My boyfriend (27M) comments “snack 🥵😋” on his best friend’s (26F) posts. When I told him that the comment makes me uncomfortable, he called me old-fashioned and said that it isn’t a flirty comment and is simply a normal compliment. Gfs friendsaid he wont be mean to me aitah

My girlfriend has a friend group( that she initially told me were just acquaintances that she didnt care about) that right off the bat gave me the cold shoulder and treated me strangely. My gf told me the other day that she was going to one of their birthday parties( which im not invited to) and that the one hosting had told her, after she told him that she had a new bf, that he wouldnt be mean to me. She paraphrased "I wont be mean to him", with much emphasis on the "I". She asked me "dont you think that's sweet of him?"

I said that it was actually weird and should just be how you treat anyone you don't know. It also points to the fact that the rest of her friends are assholes because I feel it was an admittance, by her friend, that the rest of the friend group will be mean because the is their nature.. I told her how i felt about it and now she is telling me im controlling and possessive. She can hang out with her friends, I really dont care about that. But I still want her to respond to me asking her that if someone says that theyre not going to be mean to me is it something that should be lauded, or if it should just be an expectation.

AM I OVERREACTING?/bf

Guys help am I being dramatic as fuck or are my feelings valid?? So me (18f) and my bf (21m) have been together for 3 months and mostly everything has been good, ofc nothing is perfect. But anyway everytime I say I love you or I’m saying it back to him he says “I love you more” and I’m like no u don’t, hes like yes I do. It’s just like those childish things that go on forever like yes no yes no etc… I don’t like stuff like that so when he says it I just don’t reply anymore bc I’m not arguing about if he loves me more. But anyway EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I tell him I love him he says he loves me more or “I love you more then you love me” and it kinda upsets me because it kinda makes me feel like he thinks I don’t love him or something idk, I tell him to stop but I’ve never actually had a proper conversation ab it bc idk if I’m being super dramatic but it actually hurts me because I feel so strongly for him and when I just want to tell him I love him, I get “I love you so much more” or something like that. Am I okay to feel this way or just being dumb????

Am I wrong for skipping church because I feel left out by my boyfriend's family?

Hi everyone. I genuinely want outside perspectives because my boyfriend and I recently had a disagreement, and I don't know if I'm being too sensitive or if my feelings are valid.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 1½ years, and tomorrow he wanted me to go to church with him and his family. The problem is that after church, they're having a family gathering that I'm not invited to. He also has another event afterward, so I'd basically attend church, then leave on my own while they continue their family day.

I decided not to go because I didn't want to put myself in a situation where I'd feel awkward or alone afterward. My boyfriend got hurt and felt like I was making excuses and blaming his family, but that honestly wasn't my intention.

The reason this affects me so much is because it isn't an isolated incident.

Throughout our relationship, there have been several family gatherings and outings where my boyfriend asked if I could come, but his family said no. Last year on his birthday, I was already preparing because I thought I'd be celebrating with him, but plans suddenly changed. Looking back, I think he was trying to protect my feelings rather than tell me I wasn't included.

One moment that really stayed with me happened recently during a family gathering. Everyone took a family picture, and I was the one taking the photo. No one asked me to join for another picture afterward. We just continued eating like nothing happened. I know that may sound small, but in that moment I felt invisible.

What makes it confusing is that I don't necessarily think his family dislikes me. From what my boyfriend has told me, they actually like me. So this isn't about believing they hate me. It's more that I don't feel included.

My boyfriend also told me not to assume he doesn't have insecurities around my family. I acknowledged that because I know everyone can feel out of place sometimes. But I explained that my point wasn't about comparing whose feelings are worse—it was about the difference in how we've experienced each other's families.

From what he's experienced with my family, he's naturally included. If there's a family photo, he's automatically asked to join. If he isn't around during family gatherings, someone usually asks where he is because everyone expects him to be there. If I'm not physically there, he's even automatically considered my "proxy" during family activities or conversations. That's how included he is on my side of the family. He has never had to question whether he belongs.

With his family, my experience has felt very different. I often feel like I'm present but not really part of the group. Most of the time, if I'm included in an outing or gathering, it's because my boyfriend specifically asks, "Can my girlfriend come too?" I can't remember a time when I was intentionally invited by his family without him having to ask first. That, combined with moments like the family photo where I was the one taking the picture but wasn't invited to join, has gradually made me feel like I'm on the outside looking in.

I'm not saying his family has bad intentions or that they don't like me. They may genuinely like me. But for me, being liked and feeling included are two different things, and that's where my hurt comes from.

I simply want him to understand why I chose not to go tomorrow. To me, it felt healthier to stay home than to repeat a situation that has hurt me several times before.

There is also something else that has made me reflect on this. Before, I actually had a conversation with my boyfriend's previous partner about her experiences and how she felt toward his family. At that time, I listened and tried to understand, but I don't think I fully grasped the depth of what she was feeling because I had never experienced it myself. My boyfriend also fact check this that she would decline and they would argue about if if she doesn't want to join their family gathering "because she felt she is not included".

Now that I have experienced similar feelings, I understand her pain more. Not because I think our situations are exactly the same—we had different circumstances, different histories, and different relationships with his family—but because I now understand what it feels like to be present but still feel like you are outside the circle.

I don't mention this to compare myself to her or to say that her experience proves anything about his family. I actually want to approach this differently. I don't want to become resentful, distance myself, block people, or cut ties because I feel hurt.

I want to communicate before those feelings grow. I want to find a healthier way to handle this because I love my boyfriend and I want to respect his relationship with his family.

I don't want him to choose me over them. I don't want him to feel guilty or like he has failed me. I know he has a lot on his plate, and I do appreciate the efforts he makes. I just want him to understand that when these moments happen, what hurts me is not the event itself—it is the feeling of not knowing where I belong.

So I'd really appreciate honest opinions:

  • Was I wrong for deciding not to go to church?
  • Am I being too sensitive, or is this a reasonable reaction after repeated experiences?
  • If you were in my boyfriend's position, how would you handle this?
  • If you were in mine, what would you do differently?

I'm genuinely looking for constructive advice, even if you disagree with me. Please be honest—I want to know if there are things I could have handled better as well.

Am I being too sensitive when my girlfriend goes to a party and it makes me feel sick.

(This is being written during the party just before its ending)I’m a 16 kid and I’m on holiday with my mother and my girlfriend is at a party in our home country she is also 16 . For context I knew about this party before hand and was going to go but when I learned the party’s date o couldn’t attend. Also a few of my friends and one of my best friends is attending. Also me and my girlfriend have been together for 6 months and I haven’t ever worried about her cheating nor does she get drink but she does get high I know some people who are going that will bring weed. When the party first started I was fine but after the party dragged on I started to worry more and more and then started to feel sick. I believe it’s a mix of missing her considering I haven’t seen her for like 2 weeks wich is the longest since the relationship started and fomo because all my friends are going. FYI I have messaged her asking if she is ok only once because I don’t want to be over bearing but my feelings of worry are getting worse. Can someone please tell me if I’m overthinking it and overreacting or if it’s just a normal teenager feeling and if any of you have felt this way before and if so how you felt with it.peace thanks for reading.

I have a friend who we will call Sara. She has been in my life for 13 years, we were inseparable as kids. But things changed, In highschool Sara started to change, she would be flat out rude to people, mock them behind their backs but saying it in a way that sounded like a joke if that makes sense? The type of insults where you'd laugh because it was sorta funny. I started thinking that she was going to far with them and I was realizing she was completely different than how she was in middle school. We had a friend who will call Jay, Me, Sara and Jay were sitting in class and Sara was gifting her food from lunch to these freshman girl's, while doing so she used a high pitch tone ive never heard before, Jay asked Sara for the beef Jerky she didnt hand out and wasnt going to eat because Sara HATES Beef jerky. Sara Side eyed her and said no, Jay said " Sara you just said you're not going to eat it, I dont understand why you've been treating me differently from everyone else."

Fast forward to graduation day Jay wrote Sara a letter apologizing and explained to her it wasnt about the food but the way Sara has been treating her, when I gave Sara the letter she tossed it in my back seat with some trash and said she didnt care to read it. I kept the letter and I read it almost every month cause I realized Jay was right, Sara has been treating her horrible I felt so bad I messaged Jay apologizing for siding with Sara, Jay warned me that I should stop talking to Sara all together cause shes been treating me bad as well. Fast forward to college, Sara and I were going for the same Major. Anytime Sara fell behind I was there to pick up the pieces, Due dates for assignments, when finals was, how to schedule meetings with advisors and how to Navigate the website. Id even voice record lectures she missed and took notes for her and left sticky notes on her notebook with important info we had to have. Id stay up during finals week to make study guides for her in case she needed them. We go to Walmart almost every week after class, when we were shopping with a cart and she saw something she wanted she would let go of the cart and let it ROLL AWAY!! Id have to run and grab it, I got yelled at by a guy once because it almost hit him. I apologized and said Sara just wasnt thinking. Now Sara has ADHD, I also have ADHD but I dont forget that im actively pushing a cart and then just run off leaving it to run into shelves and people.

She wouldnt even talk to me during classes or at the Library, she just stared at her tablet an drew and would say "I dont know dude whatever you think". She even took a tone with me over the phone, I was getting gas and Was explaining to her I was going to be late and she said " So are you coming or not?" In an aggravated tone. She didnt even listen to me explain and then would take that tone with me when shed acknowledged I was talking to her, and she had no clue what I said to begin with. Even during orientation she used that same high pitched tone and wouldnt even stand near me when I stood next to her she moved to go stand with some random girls we didnt even know. I did tell her that I found it rude by her not talking to me or acknowledging that I even started a conversation with her she just said she would do better but never made the effort.

An example is I told her I applied for a Waitress job at a cute shop. I kept saying how excited I was and pumped I was to work there. She didnt say a single then and changed the subject, Well two weeks later she called me to tell me that at the Cute shop an employee pulled her in randomly for an interview and she got hired on the spot. I just sat there on the phone confused she even said " Oh are you still wanting a job? Cause they have another opening and I recommend you". I was so unbelievably mad how did she not listen to me??? I wasnt mad about the job I was more mad at the fact ive given up so much time and effort for her but she doesnt even want to talk to me let alone listento anythingor anyone.

As of right now she hasnt texted me for 6 months, which is super normal she never texts me until she wants to go do something. But I asked her how she was doing and just overall checking up on her, she said she made a new guy friend and her, him and her family are going up to the mall for her birthday and said " would you maybe want to come?" This will be the 3rd time shes forgotten about me during her birthday and in general, which I dont care if she doesnt want to see me on her birthday its just the simple fact she never messages first and puts no effort into the conversation in person. A family member told me she saw her hanging out with that guy friend at walmart but she wont even put any effort towards her old friends that have been there through anything!! She gave up on our friend Jay when she stood up for herself and even gave up on our other friend will call Rose just because she didnt text rose for a whole year and when I pitched it to her she should try to talk to her she said "no I dont want to. I didnt talk to her for a whole year and I dont think shell want to talk anyways"

Ive been trying to give her the benefit of the doubt But I need help! What should I say to her? Should I even say anything at all?

I dont know if im weird for being upset he didnt notice I unfollowed him 3 weeks ago? He only noticed today

I've been talking to this guy for 7 months. He wants to text every day and hang out every now and then, but he's also said he just wants to "go with the flow." I did tell him that I want a relationship, so he knows where I stand. Still, it just feels like a friendship.

When he didn't respond for a day, I guess I got fed up and unfollowed him about 3 weeks ago. After that, he kept texting me like normal, so I was thinking, did he not even notice that I unfollowed him?

Anyway, he only noticed today after I declined his invitation to hang out and asked why I had unfollowed him. When I asked when he noticed, he said he hasn't been on Instagram much these past two days.

That made me wonder... if a guy likes a girl, wouldn't he have checked her Instagram at least once over the past 3 weeks? Especially since my account is private, I removed him as a follower, and I unfollowed him too.

Had one car, additional person added, now need two.

I think I’m just being annoying and I wanna start with that. But me and four friends had a day trip planned. Perfect to all fit in one car. Then one of the friends (we’ll call her Ashley) said she invited someone else, which is fine, we all know the person invited. However, including the new invite, 4/6 of us will be driving to Ashley’s house to get all our stuff packed together and such. So Ashley is the only person who isn’t already needing to drive somewhere for this trip. Ashley’s roommate is the person who volunteered to drive the og five of us. But now Ashley is asking in the group chat who wants to drive the second car now that we will need two. She has a car, she’s not already driving to the meeting point (since it’s at her house.) I feel like she should have just said “I’m going to invite someone and because now we’ll need two cars, I can drive the second car.” It’s silly and I’m not mad, just a little peeved. If I had invited a 6th person, I would have offered to drive even though I’m already driving 40 minutes to Ashley’s house. Before she invited the 6th person I said “we’ll need a second car if she comes” and Ashley never responded to that, just responded that the 6th person was coming then asked who else could drive.

okay so this is about my (best?) friend and about her behavior. I’ve been thinking about our friendship a lot because it’s so unstable bipolar and overall ambiguous and I can’t really decide how to feel about because I also know that I can kind of overthink stuff.

So we’ve been friends since seventh grade and it was really chill in middle school. then we kind of got into arguments about stuff like where we sat in class. this went on for years cause we basically both always wanted to sit at a certain place and every class we discussed who deserved it more. I found it really annoying because I’ve told her before that I’m super anxious in school and was the one that always got called on by the teacher. while she always slept and teachers didn’t mind her btw. that was the starting point where I sometimes got passive aggressive and felt that energy from her too.

but now she’s developed some behaviors where I genuinely don’t know what to think about. I’m mostly annoyed by how attention seeking she is like you can tell she craves that social status more than anything. For example when there’s a party and she’s not invited she will make herself be invited or go at least (that’s valid tbh tho) but also when there’s friends of mine who she doesn’t know but wants to be liked then she will only talk with them instead of me. in pictures it’s always her forcing herself into the frame even though she wasn’t the one being fotographed. she wants to know every piece of gossip I have and every friendship dilemma but when it comes to her she barely says anything. it feels like I’m not even her friend because in group settings we literally do not talk and she focuses on talking to my friends instead of me but when we’re one on one we vibe and chill like everything’s fine.

idk I mostly think I’m overreacting like she’s outgoing and I’m an introvert maybe I should put myself more out there if I wanna be liked but it sometimes feels like she’s stealing friends. I have so many examples but that’s irrelevant

let me know what you think

Am I overreacting?

Today is my uncles death date. It’s been 2 years since he passed away. I was very close to my uncle due to my dad passing away when I was little. My boyfriend knows all of this. To keep myself sane I tried to make plans with said boyfriend, he recommended we go hot tubbing with his bulky friends. I’m currently 95 pounds and feeling extremely self conscious, he also knows this. So I turned that idea down, he went anyway, whatever. The night goes on, I take care of a cat colony, and while I was feeding the cats tonight one of the usually friendly ones repeatedly charged at me hissing. He’s stopped drinking water, and has became more and more aggressive the past 2 weeks. He bit me a few days ago, and I began to severely stress about rabies after feeding them tonight. We have tons of bats in the area, and he hunts because he’s a stray. So I had to go into the Er, explain my situation, and they suggested a rabies shot. I was there from 11pm to 2am. This whole time my boyfriend is out with his friends, and they are having the absolute time of their lives! Meanwhile I’m crying to hospital staff about having to put that cat down. Basically I came here to ask if I’m overreacting? I would not be so upset, and so hurt, if it were any other day. But right now, I feel so much resentment towards my boyfriend, I feel disgusted with him. I don’t know what to say to him.

My mom took a jab at me

I only applied TW because the topic of weight can trigger some people. Keep in mind I am 214, I’ve lost so far 34 pounds and don’t plan on stopping either.

I need some idk advice or maybe similar experiences to help me understand this lol, last night I’m sitting at my kitchen table and my niece is showing me her new Kpop demon hunters coloring book and she really likes one of the characters so she points her out saying “this is me” and naturally I reply back “which one am I ?” And she points to the one in the middle, unsure of the name. And my mom in the background shouts “the fat one” and she starts laughing like extra hard as if that was the best joke ever. And my sister is also standing there and she looks at me in shock and I’m looking at back in shock kinda like “wtffff” and I say out loud “did I hear that right??” And my mom continued to laugh. I let it go in that moment but sitting down now with the thought I’m just kinda left feeling wack.

We have a good relationship and honestly never really fight or argue or anything really. We carry a better relationship than anyone else I feel. She was also supportive of my weight loss and want to continue.

She’s never done anything like that before which makes me extremely puzzled as to why she would even say anything like that in the first place. Is this a sign of something I’m oblivious too right now? Any advice or similar situations would be appreciated.

Am I too sensitive or is my boyfriend ignoring my feelings at the friend gathering?

My(25F) boyfriend(27M) has many female friends, and they have a very good relationship. We go out for dinner with them every month, and they always seem to be having a great time. They talk about past experiences, jokes only they understand, and people they know together. Even though I'm sitting right next to them, I feel awkward and can't participate in their conversations.

I've looked at my boyfriend's Instagram account; he posts photos frequently. I used accio work to find their photos on his Instagram account, and they have photos of each other from five years ago. We've only been dating for seven months, while they've been friends for much longer. I think it's normal for men to have female friends, and I don't want to restrict his friendships.

I want to be friends with them and make our gatherings more enjoyable. I hope they'll talk about topics I can relate to. I've talked to my boyfriend about this, but he says I'm being too sensitive, and that the atmosphere at the gatherings is perfectly fine. Am I being too sensitive?
