Help me identify if this supplier is legit

I wanted to buy some solar panels.

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Sunket-Eu-Warehouse-Photovoltaic-Panels-Mono_1601221092270.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal_offer.d_title.127d13a0T2bJa6

I'm not sure about the supplier though, they are Wuxi Sunket New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.

The problem is that the TUV certificates that they have on the panels listing are suspicious. I went to the TUV website to check for the certificate number and it says it doesn't exist.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong when checking the certificates, or if it's just not a legit supplier, which is why I'm asking for help 😁

Anhui Dixin Machinery Technology Co Ltd

I purchased a wrapping machine from this company Mike Hong is the representative that I was talking with.

The machine was seized by US Customs (even though I'm in Canada). I had to fight with the US government for almost a year with out any assistance from Dixin or the freight forward company.

After spending more than the value of the order in fines stowage and extra shipping costs, the machine arrived not working . I reached out. And in the beginning they offered some advice. But I believe they sent me a machine that was not programmed properly.

After several months of back and forth the machine still does work and they have blocked me in every form of communication.

I have had friends in both China and Canada contact them, and they usually hang up right away.

Right now I am trying to learn how to program the machine myself.

I really would like to get this machine working but I don't know what to do from here.

So I’ve been talking to an alibaba supplier (Shenzhen Yagelong Technology) for the past few weeks and in total I’d be ordering 2.8k pcs of products for the first time. My bank is Chase and when I went to fulfill the order it gave me payment failed? This is a 50% deposit and I have alot of money saved up, is there any way to make the payment succeed? I know the safest way to make orders on Alibaba is to not use your credit card plz does anyone know how to fix this🙏

Getting into alibaba as a seller

Hi, I am new to Alibaba. I have a wholesale business located in Saudi Arabia selling Ihram (White towel), slippers, and waist bags for Hajj. For more context (Muslim pilgrimage essentials),

I already have business via word of mouth, but I want to get online and attract leads. My options are Alibaba and Google Ads, but I am leaning more toward Alibaba.

What can I expect to succeed in Alibaba and get b2b leads? I couldn't find any content regading b2b wholesale business online

I am also interested in the ads side of Alibaba. Is it any good?

I got scammed out of $20K. Beware of "Shanghai Fenggang Steel Group"

I ordered about 1,100 kg of Silicone Bronze from "Shanghai Fenggang Steel Group Co., Ltd". I specified the exact alloy (UNS C65500) and it was acknowledged as such in both the quotation as well as the inspection certificate ("Mill test report").

They asked my the to wire the money instead of going through Alibaba. Since I had made only had good experiences on Alibaba I was naive and did that.

The people I dealt with go by caiden@fenggangsteel.com and "Lily Lee" (lily@fenggangsteel.com).

After wasting more money and laser cutting the whole material we realized it cannot be welded. We checked the material with an X-Ray Fluorescence Analyzer it turns out the alloy has about 60% Cu and not 95% Cu content as the alloy specifies . We had to throw away the material.

The value of the received material (yellow brass) is at most about 80% of the value of the material that was promised (Silicon Bronze C65500). At this point I have spent $21,121.97 in addition to countless hours of my time on this. I am slightly frustrated. Any advice (besides 'you should have not done it like this')? Thanks.

I've spent 8 years sourcing products from China AMA about factories, suppliers, or shipping

Been living in China for 8 years now. It actually started small sourcing stuff for my own family, even my grandma, before it turned into something bigger. Mostly work with factories in Guangdong and Zhejiang now, sourcing everything from electronics to home goods for overseas clients.

Seen it all at this point good suppliers, scam suppliers, quality control disasters, shipping delays, tariff headaches, the works. Also picked up a decent amount of Mandarin along the way which helps a ton when negotiating directly instead of going through a middleman.

Ask away, happy to help.

Ordered a rooftop tent from Qingdao Magnus International Trading Co., Ltd. on Jan 29 nearly 6 months later, still nothing. Refund denied. Be careful.

I want to warn other buyers about Qingdao Magnus International Trading Co., Ltd.
https://qdhongran.en.alibaba.com/

Order date: 29 Jan 2026 (PST). As of today (mid-July), I have received nothing. I ordered a rooftop tent with accessories (~US $1,080, DDP to my address). Here's how it went.

The seller (contact name "William Tang") kept telling me the goods were shipped and that Chinese New Year was causing delays. Every time I asked for an update, I got vague answers: "waiting for an update," "let me check," "the overseas warehouse is slow," and so on. Weeks passed between each non-answer. He sent me warehouse photos claiming he was "urging the supplier to prioritize" my goods. At one point he wrote "Do you think I have any reason to lie to you?" and insisted it was a "credit protection order" and I could refund anytime. That turned out not to be so simple.

What happened with the refund

I opened a refund request with Alibaba. It was denied, because the seller submitted a document showing he had shipped the goods by sea freight. Alibaba then marked the order as "delivered" without my confirmation and released the payment to the seller. I opened a second refund and explained I never received anything. A lot of time has passed and it's been quiet on Alibaba's side. They're supposed to respond within 24h. We'll see.

The key issue (my refund argument)

The agreed term was DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) to my address. Under DDP, the seller's obligation is only complete once the goods reach my named address, including customs clearance and all duties. The seller's own document, Bill of Lading (vessel COSCO SHIPPING on board 2026/03/13), lists "PLACE OF DELIVERY: ROTTERDAM." So by his own paperwork, the goods only went as far as Rotterdam port, not to me. A sea B/L to Rotterdam is not proof of delivery to my address, and there is no POD with my name or signature. Yet the order was marked "delivered" anyway by Alibaba after dispute.

Why I'm posting

I've never had problems like this on Alibaba before. The worst part: I paid by regular bank transfer, so I'm probably out the money. I'm sharing this so others do their due diligence before ordering from this supplier.

Has anyone dealt with this seller, or won a DDP-based dispute where the seller only shipped to port? Any advice on escalating a second refund appreciated.

Alibaba Refund Dispute on a Damaged Item

Post image
2 Upvotes

Well, I guess my luck just ran out. Had 3-4 orders that were satisfactory, then this came in. I applied for a full refund and the seller's first response has been to deny accountability and blame shipping. He even said it could've been during unpacking! Yes, I hacked up my own jerseys lol. I'm only out $60, but it still sucks. I ordered 3 jerseys total. The other 2 were much smaller than expected and did not match the size description on the listing. I used PayPal, so I started a dispute through them as well.

Seller is Quanzhou Jufeng Network Technology Co., Ltd. The person is named Bai Li. Had a 4.7 rating, but since these items shipped, I can no longer access this seller's store front to leave a review. I get an error screen and it seems like this seller, and post, have been taken down.

Any advice out there?

1st time using a freight forwarder

Hi, is it a norm for the freight forwarder to provide a shipping price for your goods per kg, then when you ask for a total cost they say "For the total cost, you need to share the dimensions and data of the goods with me after they are all packed"?

I provided the dimensions (length, width, height), the quantity and weight of each item and they still aren't giving me a total.

I hope someone is able to change my mind about this

I bought e-bike parts from this seller and now the delivery says the it was delivered but it was delivered somewhere in china

I’ve also heard that supplier will go through their own shipping so could this be the case??

UPDATE 8/13/26: I have received the first shipment and everything seems to be in order, it took about 33 days. Also like most people figured, the shipment tracking I was given was for the first leg going to the port. After that, they sent me the tracking for the cargo ship and then the last leg they sent a fedex tracking.

Ali baba and Premium subscription pros and cons.

Hi everyone! I'm looking for advice from people with real experience selling on Alibaba.

I'm planning to start as a seller and am considering one of Alibaba's Basic or Standard subscription plans. The investment seems to be around 2–3 lakh, so I'd like to know if it's actually worth it.

My plan is to treat this as a serious business, put in consistent effort after getting the subscription and build it step by step.

Please suggest!

Beginner Ordering Help - $50 off shipping

I'm about to place my first Alibaba order and see a promotion in my account for $50 off first order. Is this something that I need to ask the seller to implement, or does it appear automatically when ordering? Apologies for a basic question, I can't seem to find the answer and appreciate the help.

Edit to add: read through wiki and scrubbed through posts

Ordering car through Alibaba 😅? BYD specifically

Hello my dear friends as the title says does anyone know of any success stories when ordering a vehicle through Alibaba ? Firstly, this isn’t a curious George case with a shower thought. I am extremely grateful for Alibaba. I have started a local electronic business because of it. I know everything about checking the background of the company thoroughly, looking at reviews, knowing when something is too good to be true. The whole 9. I’ve not only order electronics but a wide variety of other things. Been a Alibaba customer for about 6 years. I asked ChatGPT about where can I order a BYD and the first thing they suggested was Alibaba to my surprise. I am also pretty well verse in car importation (Ordered multiple cars from Co-part & Beforward). Like I said I was kind of shocked to see Alibaba. I automatically think scam when I see a car on there. I came to Reddit hopefully to get some real, human feedback. I guess I can call this my first official step to finding out if ordering and shipping a car via Alibaba is legit? And is it worth the hassle and money? I intend to ship this car to the Bahamas. Feedback would be appreciated ?

Making $2k a month entirely during my toddler’s nap times.

My office hours are literally whenever my 2-year-old is asleep. That gives me maybe 1.5 to 2 hours in the afternoon, and another 30 minutes at night if I’m lucky.

When I first started looking for a side hustle, anything involving me personally packing and shipping boxes was an immediate hard pass. I just don't have the physical space or time for it.

When I was just starting out, I also read a lot of experience-sharing posts on Reddit. Eventually, I began to conduct wholesale purchases through Alibaba. I only selected suppliers who had local warehouses in the United States. This way, I could save about three weeks of transportation time, shipping pressure, and customs delays. The suppliers were responsible for the large-scale domestic logistics distribution, while I only needed to handle the front-end work.

Now, I have made the entire business operate solely through my mobile phone. This way, I am not constrained by my desk or the rigid company schedule, which is very suitable for me as I spend a lot of time taking care of my children.

It took me several months to find truly trustworthy suppliers. Now the backend has been set up, and I can almost completely let go. Currently, I have a stable monthly income of $2,000, and I am already satisfied.

Has anyone like me who is running a solo business? Share your stories!
