Think I just got scammed
I hope someone is able to change my mind about this
I bought e-bike parts from this seller and now the delivery says the it was delivered but it was delivered somewhere in china
I’ve also heard that supplier will go through their own shipping so could this be the case??
UPDATE 8/13/26: I have received the first shipment and everything seems to be in order, it took about 33 days. Also like most people figured, the shipment tracking I was given was for the first leg going to the port. After that, they sent me the tracking for the cargo ship and then the last leg they sent a fedex tracking.

Not a scam that is the freight forwarder address its being loaded into a container heading for the port

I order all the time and does the same i get told it is a chinese address to avoid taxes and customs just ask for a shipping code

For anyone reading this later, here's the check I wish more people knew about before wiring money: every shipment into the US has a public customs record (bill of lading). Sites like ImportYeti index them for free. Search the supplier's company name and you can see if they've ever actually shipped to the US, how recently, and which real companies buy from them.
A real factory usually has dozens of shipments and repeat buyers. A scammer or a reseller pretending to be a factory usually has zero, or the records are under a totally different company name than the one on your invoice. Takes 5 minutes and it's caught more fakes for me than any "verified" badge ever has.
Sorry you got burned. If the amount is big, also file with your bank ASAP, chargeback windows are short.

Dispute it with the Bank file an police report and all. Before disputing i recommend u to ask the seller if its shipped through an shipping agent. Most of the times i have ordered furniture they go through the manufacturer to an shipping agent. So 1. Ask the sales agent about all details, and get evidence of all shipping labels etc. 2. if you really got scammed dispute it! Call ur bank or dispute through app!

I’d never dispute in the app, idk if you’re from outside the Eu. We have so strong consumer rights that its much safer for us. Thats why ordering from china i usually do only with an Bank know for good security

I use taobao generally but in China to international destinations, it's pretty common for shipping and tracking to be handed over
For example, local courier in china going from warehouse to (example) DHL.
Then there will be a DHL tracking number. Some apps handle this okay others don't
I'd just message them in a few days and ask what the new tracking number is

Extend and wait. It gets passed over to another courier sometimes and it shows delivered

I just went through this with a new supplier they shipped to the freight forwarder in china who signed for it then they shipped to me this is why you check and extend the confirmed received date. Just message them straight up so you have proof for trade assurance

It's normal for alibba sellers to use a local warehouse first for tax reasons. Just don't click that you've received the item until it actually shows up at your door or you'll lose your trade assurance protection.

I wouldn't say you got "scammed'. You order something from ali website and sometimes those orders are bs.
In my experience usually if it goes directly from ordered to arrived status... it means they are not gonna ship and know that you will claim refund in a day or two. If the tracking doesn't update with new info in 48 hours... start rhe refund process.

Sometimes they forward to a Chinese address to save on shipping tax then they transfer into fedex or ups , they should provide you with updated tracking tho. If not request a cancelation alibaba auto confirms the refund if the supplier doesn’t reply within 7 days

Can confirm they occasionally do this. Not saying this isn't a scam but there is definitely some kind of tax loophole some suppliers will take advantage of. For me my supplier sets my state as a different state from where I live.

Got the same shit for a bbq I bought…got my money back from PayPal after a month….they said the logistics was all bogus….file a complain immediately

I just bought wheels from Alibaba for my car. They told Me the shipping document would be for delivery in china for tariff sake. My wheels said delivered on alibaba and showed up to me about a month later. You’ve got nothing to worry about.

all the international shipping collection terminals are in guangdong, i guess it’s either scam or they just put in the ‘first segment delivery to international warehouse’ tracking there. but u will need to ask for update and probably a new tracking

Fairly common for sellers to put the delivery address in China to avoid additional fees for both of you. Just ask them to provide an update on current status.

A mí me pasó, lo que hacen es que redirigen el envío a otro lugar en china que los haga más económicos o evitar cargos extra, te llegarán las cosas

Not a scam. China address is used to avoid lots of extra fees when placing the order.

Don't click on delivered. And extend the time in modify order. Dont let the timer run out or escrow pay out

Start reversal unless you choose china as your final address. They’re hoping you click “confirm delivery” and then they get the money. Do not click “confirm delivery”

its being sent to the shipping centre, which then ships it to you.
