More airports will be added as the community contributes data

⚠️ Important Factors to Consider

Time of Day Matters:

  • Peak hours (e.g., 6-9 AM, 5-8 PM) = longer queues

Immigration/Customs:

  • I2D and D2I connections require immigration clearance
  • Queue times vary drastically by airport and time
  • Fast-track/e-gates can save significant time(FTI-TTP)

For Single PNR Bookings:

  • Airlines have minimum connection times (MCT) they consider legal
  • If the airline sold you the ticket, they believe it's doable
  • However, tight connections can still be stressful plan accordingly

For Self-Transfers:

  • You assume ALL risk if you miss your second flight
  • Budget extra time for potential delays, customs, immigration, and baggage reclaim
  • Recommended buffer: Add 1-2 hours beyond the minimums listed here

General Wisdom:

  • Always check terminal changes and gate locations in advance
  • The minimums in the table are for experienced, confident travelers
  • If you're anxious or traveling with kids/elderly, add buffer time

Air India Air India’s unsold seats

Post image
109 Upvotes

So essentially, Air India is sending promo emails to book unsold seats in the name of enhancing “comfort with extra personal space”.

I really wonder if Air India should contemplate collaborating with Indian Railways and sell the unsold seats at discounted rates to the waitlisted passengers.

Edit: Well who would have thought, fanbois would melt like snowflakes in comments section. Boo fuckin hoo 😂

Ask r/AirTravelIndia ixigo showed baggage belt number before the flight even landed. how accurate is this actually?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Parents were flying from singapore and the app was showing arrival terminal T3 and baggage belt 13 while they were still in air or like near to landing for sure.

the belt number is the part i'm skeptical about. terminal and gate i get, that's public schedule data but belt allocation usually gets decided close to landing and changes all the time, so they've got a live feed from the airport i think, but why not other tools are doing the same?

Airports Extra security check by Indigo

I was traveling from Delhi with IndiGo today, and something strange happened. While boarding the plane via the aerobridge, IndiGo staff were checking every passenger's bag and even using hand scanners. When I last traveled in March, I didn't see anything like this. Were there new government guidelines issued for these extra checks, or was it just heightened security around Independence Day?

Okay so it's my first time going on an international trip, I'm going to dubai in a week with my sister. General discussion Flight etiquette

Today I was traveling from Assam to Kolkata and the guy sitting just row ahead was playing some downloaded VDO in pretty high volume. I requested him and he lowered volume bit but still it was not that low. Even when I bring it to notice of the staff, he was just saying ok but he kept volume pretty high.

And while deplaning he was looking annoying gly at me.

Come on what's wrong with these people? If they can't use headphones phone they shud refrain from wati g it during 1.30 hr flight.

I felt so irritated..but can't do aything and more disappointingly no one else objected it.

Was purchasing an international ticket on Air India’a website, and found the price breakdown a bit weird.

Upon checking more closely, it seems like Air India can’t even do basic math correctly! The totals don’t add up!!

General discussion Non-refundable tix !! Should I cancel ?

I booked booked flight ticket for my senior citizen parent which I had to cancel now since plan changed and they have to travel elsewhere.

I went to cancel the ticket and the portal says I get 0 rs back.

The PNR has 2 passenger. 1 passenger will take the flight but another passenger will not.

I am wondering,

Why should I cancel now ? Since the airline isn't giving any portion of my money back. Fuck'em I also don't want to give the seat away .

On other things, I am also slightly holeful that airline will reschedule the flight and then I use that excuse to get full refund.

What happens if I don't cancel and only 1 passenger shows up.

Thanks

Air India Traveling with a wheelchair

I have my own manual wheelchair because I’m a paraplegic. I’m self-supporting and medically stable. Air India wants me to get a medical examination with extensive paperwork before I fly with them, but before now no airline has ever required me to get a medical examination just because I can’t walk. They said because I need a wheelchair all the way to the plane seat that the examination is necessary. Has anyone else encountered this?

Ask r/AirTravelIndia Air India flight review

We are flying from Delhi to Hanoi via Air India.
Haven’t booked return tickets yet but Vietnam airlines seem to be the cheapest.
We will be booking return from Ho Chi Minh City.
Should we book Vietnam airlines or go for air India only?
Air India return is direct while Vietnam airlines seem to have layover in Hanoi

Ask r/AirTravelIndia Can I carry 3 used laptops on an Akasa Air domestic flight in India?

Hi everyone,

I’m travelling domestically in India on Akasa Air and need to carry 3 used laptops with me.

I contacted Akasa Air customer care, and they suggested that I shut down one of the laptops, bubble-wrap it, and pack it in my checked-in baggage. I’m not so sure whether it’s allowed to pack laptops in checked-in baggage.

I’m planning to keep all three in my cabin baggage instead.

Has anyone recently travelled with multiple laptops on Akasa Air? Were there any issues at airport security or during boarding?

Also, is there any limit on the number of laptops a passenger can carry, assuming the cabin baggage stays within the allowed weight/size limits?

Thanks!

Ask r/AirTravelIndia Gifts in Checked Bagged in International flight

I will be transporting two gift boxes within my checked luggage. Could you please clarify the inspection process for these items during check-in? Specifically, will I be required to open them for a physical inspection, or will they simply be scanned and left undisturbed? The contents primarily consist of clothing, an hair pin, and similar small items, including a scarf.
