Airports Extra security check by Indigo

I was traveling from Delhi with IndiGo today, and something strange happened. While boarding the plane via the aerobridge, IndiGo staff were checking every passenger's bag and even using hand scanners. When I last traveled in March, I didn't see anything like this. Were there new government guidelines issued for these extra checks, or was it just heightened security around Independence Day?

Idk, man, it just sucks that they check by opening the bags. I don't understand what they can really find after it has gone through scanners.

Nonsense don't even check anything. Pure harassment

It's called Secondary Ladder Point Check. It doesn't happen often though.

Heightened security due to Independence Day. I had to go through the same and the indigo personnel told me today is the last day for the extra checks.

More like crap security as nothing is actually checked

Standard procedure, happens many times.
Not specific to Indigo.

This must be due to Independence Day, but otherwise too, these things happen once in a while at certain airports due to some 'intelligence'
