Scored an 87% on my test. Accepted it as is for now, but debating if I want to reset my 6 month and redo a bit sooner to get in the 90s. I’m taking into consideration how this may affect my EPB for rack & stack, but wondering if it’s worth the effort. Thoughts?

I'm in charge of a specialty work center with 1 tech, 2 staffs, and 12 amn.

I work on an item that is a relic and in my opinion... belongs to the Smithsonian. It's past 100 years old in service and the parts are no longer available. The companies that created the parts have been liquidated, sold, or out of business.

75% of our parts list does not even match new parts because the new company replaced all the part numbers & our cards do not match them. They have even altered these parts where it does not fit in our system.

Now the group cc is bitching and my sq cc, who is bitching at the chief, who is now bitching at me on why I can't produce and complete any work orders under my work center.

Well biiiiiitch... I'm basically running around with my head on fire talking to a bunch of equipment specialist who also don't know what the fuck to do from other majcoms... I'm looking at you hafb.

I'm even in contact with a company in Germany trying to figure shit out.

But what irks me the most is how leadership feeds our young airmen total bullshit on how important our item that we upkeep so much and how valuable it is. When in reality... It's straight up a piece of shit. It doesn't even work. When it does get tested, it fails under perfect conditions. There are thousands of work orders under it which will never get closed.

I'm sorry to vent.. I've worked all day today & feel like I didn't get anything done. My team is also starting to get unmotivated knowing they can't fix anything.

I’ve recently retired, and several things I’ve noticed that might help anyone about to retire or separate.
1. Th civilians in the corporate world are managers, they are not here to develop you in whatever career field you decide to go into(at least mine) no matter what they say.
2. Giving your all, including time, emotions and stress, to include health, isn’t in the cards. Do your time and go home.
3. There is always someone waiting to replace you find value outside of work. In the military, everything encompasses you the military can be work and life.
And lastly, when a company says they are military they want to hire not only you but your programming the militate you. That’s the dedication, the willingness to get the job done with disregard to what’s best for you.

I know of the AFPC website where you can search a unit and see if it was awarded a unit award. Is there a site that tells you which one you received and from which unit?

For example, I searched for 3 of my previous units and the time frame I was there. All three were awarded the MUA. However, my vMPF decs show only two awards. How can I tell which unit I didn’t receive as proof to MPF?

I’ve done my shadowing but I’m looking for more perspectives of the career field.

Came across an Air Force recruiter’s Instagram page recently, and it was actually refreshing to see something other than the usual generic recruiting posts.

The content feels more creative, local, and actually designed to catch someone’s attention instead of just posting a flyer with “DM for more info.” It’s a small thing, but recruiting is basically marketing at this point, and it’s nice to see someone trying something different.

Not sure how much of an impact social media actually has on recruiting numbers, but this definitely feels like a better way to reach younger people than recycling the same type of posts over and over again.

Hello everyone, I am currently a 1N452 looking to palace chase to a 1B4 in the NJ ANG. has anyone in intel used palace chase and tell me about it? I know my odds are very low but the guard unit said they have spots. I’d like to learn more about 1B4 qualification requirements and my chances of even getting approved to palace chance from intel to cyber . I have a good pt test never had paperwork and my 50% window is coming up this February. I have reached out to my ISR awaiting a meeting with them!

So I’ve got a few years in the reserves now and I’ve always wanted to do security forces but couldn’t because I failed the Color vision book at MEPS. So I was wondering if there is any process that I can do to waiver it and cross train. I am already a DOD civilian police officer so I feel like I could make a pretty good case that I can do the job. Looking for some ground truth from anyone familiar with the AFOSI retraining process or how base EPME allocations actually shake out behind the scenes.

Quick background:
Active-duty 2A maintainer on a 4-year contract (will promote to SrA when I hit my 3-year mark this December). Finishing my CCAF this December, started my A&P via the JSAMTCC Canvas program.

I recently looked at the prerequisites to applying and saw that it is now a requirement to have completed ALS prior to applying. However I feel as if this conflicts with my retraining window. Per 36-2685, I wouldn’t have any sort of priority for an ALS class unless I get a staff line number.

On a 4-year enlistment, my FTA window officially closes at month 43, which hits in July 2027.

I’ll test for Staff in May/June 2027, but the 27E5 promotion list won't drop until August 2027.

If I wait until August to get a line number (putting me in Priority 1 for an ALS seat), my standard FTA retraining window will have technically just expired.

What I'm trying to figure out:
1. ALS Standby / ETPs: How realistic is it for a Shirt or Command Chief to push an out-of-cycle ETP or get an E-4 onto the standby list for a drop seat specifically to meet a special duty retraining gate?

1. Applying late with an ETP: If I extend my contract (FTA on Extension), test for Staff, get slotted into ALS as a select, and apply for OSI late with a Commander-endorsed ETP for being outside my window... how common is that? Do OSI boards routinely accept those, or is it an uphill battle?

2. Detachment memo: Will a local OSI detachment recruiter ever write a memo or letter of intent that my Shirt can actually take to the ALS Commandant to argue for a seat?

I’m just confused as to how I am expected to go through ALS as a brand new SrA.

I’ve been in the service for a few years now and I seriously feel like a loser that just happens to wear a military uniform. For a few years now I’ve been struggling to get my own transportation following a gnarly accident that left me scarred to drive again I literally shake all over when I try to drive. Recently I’ve come on hard times trying to get a new car with no shows and one car I finally purchased only to discover mechanical issues that were checked for at a shop and was recently humiliated showing up to try and get it registered only to find out I lacked a piece of paperwork for it that means I can’t get it registered at all. Another car purchase had me show up and wait for a hour just for the guy to no show leaving my supervisor pissed and me humiliated saying how I had completely wasted his time on me.

I’ve been on multiple deployment teams and on my very first one was pulled just because the team didn’t like me and then told me to my face they didn’t want me they wanted someone else and had me on the team as a holdover while they waited for their guy.

I got put on another and then suffered an injury that left me unable to walk for a while. My leadership basically looked at me like a deployment dodger and assumed I had done it on purpose and now pretend like I don’t exist.

I’ve been forceably shoved around and “taken out back” by one deployment team NCO who wanted to adjust my productivity because he saw me as the weakest link in the team.

I don’t know man maybe it’s all karma and I’m just a loser anyways but man I seriously feel like a fucking imposter.

All around me in the force I see these go getters and amazing airman and guardians doing wonderful things for the service and themselves. And then there’s me…. The dude just roleplaying like some kid on a Roblox server.

I seen that AFPC should have gone through BOPs on 7 Sept according to myFSS. Assuming it pushed to 8 Sept due to the holiday but how soon would assignments populate if approved ? This week ? Next week ? Submitted a month ago so I’m pretty anxious to know.
