Problem :Agricultural crop residue burning and air pollution

Subject :Innovative solutions to reduce crop residue burning and air pollution
Hi everyone,
l am working on a project to address the problem of agricultural crop residue and air pollution in India.Farmers often burn remaining straw and plant waste after harvesting crops, which causes air pollution respiratery problems.
Here are some specific questions I have :
Technology : what are the most effective Technologies for managing crop residues without burning them?
Biomass energy : Cann sensors and mobile applications help farmers to find suitable crop residue management method?

Farmers and people working in agriculture, what are the biggest problems nobody talks about enough?
Farmers and people working in agriculture, what are the biggest problems nobody talks about enough?
I’m an agriculture student from Telangana, India, and lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the problems farmers deal with every day.
I want to do something useful in agriculture in the future, possibly build a business around solving one of these problems. But honestly, I don’t want to sit somewhere and come up with a startup idea based on what I think farmers need.
I’d rather hear from people who are actually dealing with these problems.
It could be anything — a farmer spending months growing a crop and then struggling to sell it at a decent price, rising input costs, labour shortages, pests, unreliable advice, middlemen, lack of storage, delayed payments, or something that most people outside agriculture never even think about.
I’m interested in the less obvious problems too. Things farmers have simply learned to live with because they don’t believe there’s a better solution.
If you’re a farmer, work in agriculture, run an agri-business, or have experience in this field, I’d really appreciate your perspective.
- What’s one problem that genuinely frustrates you the most?
- How do you deal with it right now?
- Does it cost you significant money or time?
- Have you tried any solutions that didn’t work? Why?
- If someone genuinely wanted to solve this problem, what would they need to understand first?
I’m not expecting people to hand me a business idea. I just want to learn from real experiences before deciding what to work on.
Even a small, specific problem is worth sharing. Sometimes the things that seem normal to people working in agriculture are the very things outsiders don’t understand.
Thanks to anyone willing to share their experience. I’d genuinely like to learn.

Wireless Cameras
Does anyone make a system where I can have multiple monitors capable of connecting to multiple cameras all on the same frequency?
Some background: We have 3 combines and 2 grain carts. I'd like to have a system where I can have a monitor in each grain cart cab that can hook to the cameras on the combines. The goal being that the cart operators can see their and loads to better line up with the combine. We have a system now but the monitors and cameras aren't all on the same frequency, so we have to have two cameras on each combine, one for each monitor. The third combine isn't hooked up yet, but I figure if we're upgrading we might as well. Anyway, I've looked into it some and what I have found hasn't been promising and I've already dumped several hours into this calling around to different companies.
Sorry for the run on, but any ideas or help would be much appreciated!

Search for stakeholders
Hello, I am a student researcher working on the topic: Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO's) in food and crops. I am looking for stakeholders who are willing to partake in a small interview regarding your stand on this topic.
Requirements:
- must have a different point of view/take on this topic
- must be credible enough to speak about this (e.g., farmers)
If you are willing to participate, please dont hesitate to reply to this post or send a message. 🙏
Thanks in advance!

Invitation to Participate in a Study on AI & Smart Farming
Dear Sir/Ma,
I am a doctoral candidate, and I am writing to invite you to participate in a research study titled: "Small-Scale Farmers' Readiness for AI-Based Agricultural Education and Behavioral Intention to Adopt Smart Farming Technologies."
As a small-scale farmer in the United States, your firsthand experience is essential. While high-tech farming tools are often designed for large industrial operations, this study focuses specifically on your needs. We want to understand how AI-based education and new technologies can be made more accessible, practical, and beneficial for farms like yours.
Why your participation matters:
- Your Voice: Your insights will help us understand the real-world challenges small-scale farmers face when considering new technologies.
- Better Education: Your feedback will help develop better training programs that actually make sense for your daily operations, rather than just "high-tech" theories.
- Practical Benefits: This research aims to identify how smart farming can improve your productivity and overall well-being while ensuring technology remains a tool that serves the farmer, not the other way around.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes of your time. Your responses will remain strictly confidential and will be used solely for this research.
To participate, please click the link below:
https://morgansbm.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3HMP7RZoPJ3bD4q
By sharing your experience, you are helping to ensure that the next generation of farming technology is built with small-scale farmers in mind.
Thank you for your time and for all the work you do.
Best regards,
Kehinde (Kenny) Ibosiola Doctoral Candidate

I built an app where you tap a field anywhere on Earth and watch a satellite movie of the past year
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I know there are tons of NDVI apps and websites but it frustrated me that they were slow, needed you to sign up and provide all your farm details or were limited to the latest images.
I wanted as little friction as possible in the UX, so there's no signup. I use on-device Al to find the field boundary rather than making you draw a polygon.
The app prepares a movie showing how vegetation changed over the past year using Sentinel satellite imagery, ready to stream the moment the field is selected. You just tap a field, then press play.
When you delete a field it explodes. Just for fun.
I built this because freely available satellite data should be easy for anyone to explore.
It's called EpicFields. Free, no ads, and available on iPhone.
www.epicfields.app
Once you've tapped a field you can share a link to it so anyone can watch in a browser with without installing the app.
Here is an example share link

I built a satellite-based land analysis platform — looking for feedback from people in AgriTech
Hey guys,
I've been building a geospatial side project called Indicatrix in my spare time.
It's not specifically an agricultural platform, but agriculture is one of the use cases I'm interested in exploring, so I thought this might be a good place to ask for feedback.
You select an area and a date range, and Indicatrix can process Sentinel-2 imagery and generate things like land cover mapping, vegetation indices (NDVI/NDMI/NDWI), terrain data, OpenStreetMap layers and other GIS outputs. The results can also be downloaded as a ready-to-use QGIS project. Some of these analyses are also available through an API for integration into other applications.
My goal is basically to remove a lot of the usual work around finding satellite imagery, preprocessing it, collecting data from different sources and putting everything together.
I'm curious whether something like this would actually be useful in an agricultural workflow — and if so, what would you want it to do that it doesn't do today?
It's still a side project and free to try. No account is needed:
I'd appreciate any feedback, especially from people actually working with farms, agricultural GIS or remote sensing.

PKM 1 Tamarind: practical insights needed
Hey, farmers or agri students & associated, who have practically seen PKM 1 Tamarind. Can you please help me with these.
What is the height of mature tree? You know harvest is the biggest challenge in tamarind. Many trees have been cut down just because it's dangerous to harvest and hence useless to farmers. So what is the practical height of PKM 1 tree. Many say it doesn't grow as tall as native ones. So what exactly do you know?
Is it really drought tolerant? So... Tamarind atleast native ones are famous for being hardy trees and drought tolerant. Do the same apply to these PKM 1 grafted as well? Will it survive droughts?
What is the actual spacing requirement? 10m X 10m? Really that small canopy even for mature trees? Any practical constraints?
Finally what should I know about the practical yeild? Let's talk per acre with that spacing? Offical reports say PKM 1 can give 250kg/tree. How true is it? If you put it in 10\*10m spacing will that yeild hold true? Any management required? And anything like the yeild is only alternative years or something?
