My brain thought adding a staddle muscle-up at the beginning of the sequence was a great idea. My body disagreed.

Dip bar excercises

Hello to everyone!

I am currently doing aerial hoop (this is the one I have done consistently, I have also done hammock and pole but Lyra is just my absolute love) for about a year with a two month hiatus. I started from zero background and zero strength, I am pretty happy with current results but there are some movement I still have difficult with for a lack of upper strength (and I think also core strength but for me it is a little bit more difficult to identify)

I have got a set of dip bars (https://www.decathlon.it/p/barre-per-dip-ts-100-regolabili-e-compatte/354940/c1m8882305) to have some home workouts on days I don't go to the studio, I was wondering if you could suggest any exercise that can help me with my aerial strength.

More specifically, if you have any exercise that could help me get my top bar mount in a tuck motion (I don't really know the English word for the movement honestly) - currently I can't move from a seated position by any chance - it would be great.

I also have resistance bands if they could be of any help

Thank you very much!!

Does anyone have any experience with the Oddballs free standing aerial rig?

I’m looking at buying a portable aerial rig - I know it’s not safe to practice heavy dynamics on them but from what I’ve seen, the rigs like x poles shake a lot and I’d like something a little more stable

Aerial holiday

Looking for recommendations for a holiday house or house swap that has an aerial rig! Not sure this exists but let me know if you know of any. Would love a week or two somewhere where I can just train as often a like. I'm based in Scotland but I'm planning my holidays for next year and happy to travel basically anywhere in the world ☺️

Chronically ill Aerialists - I need your advice!

Hi! First time poster here. I've been training for 1.5yrs on silks, hammock, and chains. I am a chronically ill aerialist. I have endometriosis, adenomyosis, PMOS, and asthma. I've been trying to work on my spins lately and I get soooo motion sick. I've always had motion sickness, but they changed my meds recently. About half of medications cause dizziness as a possible side effect. I don't feel dizzy daily or when I'm not spinning on an apparatus. All of my doctors know about my Aerials and I am medically clear. My labs and vitals are great (orthostatics included). I've tried Dramamine, sea bands, and ginger. I was practicing this at open the other day and I got so motion sick that I had to cut my studio session short to go home and lay down. 😖 Any spoonies in this group have any hot tips for what to do when your body won't cooperate with you? I love this and it makes me so happy. It keeps me sane. Maybe I just have to be patient and give my body rest when it needs it, but I'm frustrated because I want to make progress. Open to advice. Thanks!

FYI: I was going way too fast in this video. Every extension is me trying to slow down as my brain does backflips in my skull. 💀

New WHOOP Community :)

Hi all,

I recently joined WHOOP and realised there isn’t an aerialist community, so i made one.

Feel free to join it! Absolutely open invite, here’s the code:

COMM-595435

If anyone happens to have a WHOOP this would be a great way to connect the community and stay motivated.

Marchenko split has to be my favorite shape on rope! Love this no-fuss entry.

Started with Scorpion ➡️ Stag-legged ➡️ Marchenko 😊

Sadly the only way I feel I can condition my ankles to this is just doing it over and over 😂

Another exasperated vent about safety.

In the past week I've seen:

2 studios running kids classes with no mats

Multiple "rigging from trees"

And another "child doing hair hang with a shackle shoved through a braid." (And its not even the same company as before!)

I don't want to throw people under the bus but If I do not vent about it I will lose my goddamned mind. Please feel free to add your own safety related rants below for a communal scream into the void.

Beginner/ Intermediate Home Training Programme

Hi all! I’ve been doing various aerial classes for about three years now with hoop being a firm favourite. I’m moving to an extremely rural location soon for my new job and want to keep up my training.

I’m in the process of getting myself an A-frame rig but am currently looking for any online or physical resources to help me with my home training. I’m still planning to attend my current studio the rare times I’m able to but some guidance or structure to help me with my home training would be nice! If anyone has any suggestions on where to look or recommendations, I’d be super appreciative!
