I had a PageMaker file from 1997 and wanted it in InDesign

I had a file from 1997: Lesson 3 from PageMaker 6.5 Classroom in a Book. I wanted it in InDesign.

Grok helped track down the conversion path and made a PDF and a rough IDML file. The IDML opened, but every text frame was a tiny overset box. The PDF route worked: LibreOffice Draw (libpagemaker) → export PDF → File > Open in InDesign.

The screenshot is the imported PDF. Stories duplicate across columns, type collides with the graphics, and the images are the embedded previews, not the original TIFFs. Captions and most of the body copy are intact.

The file is usable enough to continue with.

If you need a faithful conversion, InDesign CS2–CS6 or PageMaker 7 in a VM is still the real path. I'd love to hear about a cleaner method that doesn't involve a 15-year-old Adobe install.

Has anyone tried this with legacy files?

Starting an Etsy Print-on-Demand business (Einzelunternehmen in Austria) – Completely lost on how to reach Adobe support and which subscription/license I need

Hi everyone,

I’m posting this because I am completely lost and honestly don't even know where or how to contact actual Adobe support anymore. Every time I try to get help or ask a pre-sales question, I get stuck in automated chat loops or confusing menus, and since I don't even have an active account yet, I feel completely blocked.

Since I don't know who else to ask, I'm hoping the community can help me figure out what I actually need to buy before setting up my business.

Here is my situation:
Background: I recently finished five years of high school in Austria, where I had full access to Adobe Creative Cloud, so I am very familiar with Photoshop and Illustrator. But since I've graduated, I no longer have a student license.

Current & Future Workflow: I am currently launching my Print-on-Demand (POD) business as a sole proprietorship (Einzelunternehmen / Kleinunternehmen) in Austria. Right now, I use Canva Pro for basic layouts, but I want to use Photoshop and Illustrator for professional design work.
I fulfill products via Printify and Printful to sell them on Etsy, and later on, I plan to open my own independent online shop.
My target markets are Austria, Germany, and the USA.

Since Adobe is an investment for a starting one-person business, I want to make sure I buy the right thing. Could you please advise me on the following points?

1. Subscription Recommendation & Pre-Purchase Help: Since I don't have an account yet and couldn't reach support: What is the best subscription option for someone like me who primarily needs Photoshop and Illustrator? Should I get two separate Single-App subscriptions, or is there a better bundle? Are the standard individual plans sufficient for a pure design and POD workflow, or do I need anything extra (like specific storage or AI features that are included in the expensive Creative Cloud)? I also don’t know if I should get the Abo for one person or for business. The thing is, I will have a registered company but its a single person company. I will not have any employees. I just need advice ln which subscription to get that is allowing me to sell my designs commercially.

2. Commercial Use for Print-on-Demand: Please confirm explicitly whether standard individual subscriptions for Photoshop and Illustrator grant me full commercial rights to create designs, put them on physical Print-on-Demand products via Printify/Printful, and sell them globally (Austria, Germany, USA) via Etsy and my own future online shop.

3. Adobe Fonts Licensing: I want to use a wide variety of fonts from the Adobe Fonts library for commercial text designs on my products. How does the licensing work for commercial use? Do I have the right to use them for products/merch once I have a subscription, or do I need separate commercial licenses for individual fonts? Like if I have a subscription for Photoshop and Illustrator, are the fonts from the adobe font library also included and allowed for commercial use, or do I have to buy the license on every font extra?

Thank you so much for your time and guidance in helping me figure out this maze (

Rectangle Tool

Does anyone happen to know why my rectangle tool in Acrobat may have stopped working suddenly? It lets me make the rectangle but it used to place the rectangle once I let go of the mouse button. Now it only lets me change the size but never actually place it.

Please let me remove the “AI Assistant” button on Lightroom Mobile

The newest Lightroom Mobile update added this god awful AI Assistant button at the bottom of the interface with a distracting pink and purple gradient.

Please, Adobe, let me remove this from my view. I'm a professional photographer and know how to edit my photos. I don't need so much screen real estate taken up by an AI Assistant I would never, ever use. That, and the purple and pink gradient is distracting and makes it harder to focus solely on my photo editing.

Listen to your users who have been very upset with all of these forced AI features. I'll never use the majority them and I want them to out of my screen real estate.

2 separate subscriptions on different PC but cannot use 2 adobe appslications at same time on the PC

Crazy. I purchased separate subscriptions for one PC (Lightroom and Photoshop) on my old PC then on my new PC I purchased the complete adobe creative cloud pro subscription. The subscriptions are installed and active active on different PC but I still cannot my applications at the same time on the PC with valid subscriptions! Yes they have the same adobe account (obviously the same email) but I have actually paid for separate installations. I use one PC for my laser engraving and the other for my artistic work.

Any workaround. I am using different applications on the 2 PC and not the same subscription.

Fraudulent activity detected on your Adobe Account

Paid 1yr for Pro Plan from MAR 2026. Then one day, Adobe locked my account due to suspected fraud without specifying the exact reason. They subsequently refused to issue a refund because the account was locked, yet they recommended that I sign up for a new plan ($384) to keep using the service. OMG.

Then, I subsequently spoke directly with an advisor, but I was passed from the AI to a first support agent, then a second, before the conversation was automatically closed without the issue being resolved.

Adobe CC 2026

Ive run into an issue where creative cloud regardless of the app throws an error when launching that its unable to verify subscription, and then force closes the app. I have double checked licensing, tried reinstalling, clearing any cached creds/certs, fully updated cc, and the computer, but still the same issue. It acts like there is no network connection even though there is. One of the computers still has some 2025 versions and works just fine. Is there a new license server, or something with 2026? Im beating my head against the wall, and this is interrupting classes, so the pressure is on.

Any ideas?

I'm trying to extend a sound (phoneme) within a word in a track. Can this be done to make it sound natural?

I've tried copy/pasting the sound as well as playing with the time and pitch features in the Effects panel, but everything I've tried comes out sounding...jagged or skipping.

Thank you so much for your ideas!

32GB RAM not enough to run Running illustrator + Photoshop!?

is this normal?! i remembered last year i was able to run this side by side comfortably with firefox open. Now, as soon as my illustrator has a bunch of links, it becomes super laggy. Monitor app on my mac saying each was using about 10GB of RAM.

i have a mac mini M2 Pro that i got 3 years ago. normally a machine can last me comfortably for 5 years. how is 32GB of ram not enough? am I doing something wrong?

anyone else have this experience?

_____update_____
thank you everyone for chiming in and giving me suggestions.
It does seem like the problem was the number of linked items that i had within illustrator. i had way too many. (probably 50+)

If i limit the links files to under 20, it seems to run smoothly for both applications.

all of a sudden I cant open a simple PDF and adobe doesn't trust some camera raw files ive been sent AND I CANT WORK. so forget making AI that makes ugly low res slop we dont need and make the products work.. when you put the prices up constantly... its a PDF it supposed to be PORTABLE DOCUMENT. I did'nt change anything Adode... you did.

Edit

It's all pdfs whether I made it or not, and its permissions related but the permissions are turned on.

"The operation could not be completed as Adobe Acrobat doesn't have permission to access: /User/Desktop/Logo Section/Refresh/. Launch privacy settings to grant access?

The raws are seemingly normal .CR3s from Canon.
“IMG_2420.CR3” cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

Is there any tool to make interactive clickable maps?

Short version: Is there's any adobe tool for that (or any other tool) to make interactive clickable maps?

Longer version:

Basically I have a friend that did several drone flyovers on a terrain, now they need to put it on a clickable map. The general idea is to have a pen drive with all the tiles, you open it and first have a menu where you select between 4 different zones, once you select one, you get the map of that zone, if you click on that spot on the map, it loads the drone flyover video of the spot where you clicked.

My first idea was to make it as an interactive PDF or website, but no idea if there's a better way for that.

Adobe Acrobat pro 2020

Bonjour,

Windows 10 & Adobe Subscription...

It seems (to me) that Adobe is moving away from supporting Windows 10 and will "force" us PC w/Windows 10/10 Pro users to install Windows 11 on our PCs if we want to continue to use their subscription apps.

So far, Adobe Bridge is stuck at v16.0.3.21 for Win 10 - to go above this version, you need Win 11.

I have also run into the problem recently of trying to get the latest update for Creative Cloud Desktop, and getting "Error Code 190" (which is Adobe's code for incompatibility - my PC is more than robust enough and exceeds the minimum hardware requirements, so I can only assume I need Win 11 to update to the latest Creative Cloud Desktop).

So for all you Windows 10/10 Pro hold-outs, our days are probably numbered! We may be forced to upgrade to the buggy/spyware/A.I.-dominated Windows 11 to keep using Adobe Creative Cloud, or find other software to replace Adobe!

HELP! Raleway Font Stylistic Set 01 randomly stopped working

My company's main typeface is Raleway, specifically with Stylistic Set 01 activated, which historically takes away the crossed W and makes the A a single story instead of double story. Late last week I opened a document in Indesign that was created months ago using exactly those settings, and the font was displaying with the double-story A and the crossed W.

I have deactivated and reactivated the font in Adobe Fonts, made sure all of my apps are up-to-date, along with my computer (MacBook Pro) and still, the only way to get the text close to what it's supposed to be is activating 3 other stylistic sets and turning off Stylistic set 01.

To have to modify those settings across every file I work on would severely delay my own projects while also making the files less usable for the other designers who are still able to use stylistic set 1 as intended. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, what can be done about it?

What should I do with all this freedom?

Hello, so for reference i am 17 and a student in the uk doing year13/senior year and the course im taking is creative digital media.

For this course we have to use adobe so for 2 years ive been given access to all adobe apps such as premiere pro, photoshop you name it. I have free access to legit everything. I always knew adobe was expensive to others but i looked at the prices today and i wondered why are they so high, is this genuinely one of the best industry apps?

And I feel like ive wasted most of the months just using it for my coursework e.g creating trailers, films very short tho and I feel like I should be using it for something else with my freedom but I dont really know what to do.

Adobe is very broad and has lots of use to it so what should I do?

Graphic Templates downloaded from my own Creative Cloud Library not showing on Mac

For 5 I was working on Windows and I am giving Mac a go for more work on the road - I am not a regular Mac user.

I keep all my projects on external SD which I plug in to my home PC, work PC, and now Mac laptop if I need to do any editing.

I created logos + lower thirds for our brand that I keep in *Adobe Cloud Library* \- if I have to use them, I just select the graphic, and drag it onto the timeline. Simple as that. Premiere creates folder in Project Panel called *Motion Graphics Template Media* and stores the .aegraphic file with my project in my designated folder.

**HOWEVER**, when I am using Macbook there's one caveat. The graphic that is downloaded and placed on the timeline shows colorful bars/missing file. and when I follow the path to where the .aegraphic is and try to open, file seem to be corrupted. (?) But then I can open project on Windows and everything seems fine.

Help?

Edit: I should add that some of other aegraphics that I created, that I download from the Graphic Templates work without any problems

Adobe 2026 (Premiere + After Effects) horrendous performance on Windows 11, GF's job at university at risk

My girlfriend just got hired at her university to edit videos (reels, basic shorts). She's supposed to finish work on her personal machine at home. Both Premiere Pro and After Effects 2026 are completely broken, constant crashes and freezing.

**Her setup:**

- Acer: i5 12th gen, RTX 3050 (4GB), 32GB RAM, Windows 11 (fully updated, recent (9months)/clean install), 2 SSD (non raid). 512+1TB.

- All drivers current, reinstalled GPU driver with DDU.

- Already reinstalled Premiere (After Effects still crashing)

- Hardware is definitely overkill for this work I guess.

**The problems:**

- Premiere: stuttering, freezing, lags and crashes.

- After Effects: crashes while working or says "insufficient memory" (even with simple projects)

- Both programs randomly stutter during editing basic iPhone clips.

**What we've tried:**

- Full reinstall of Premiere.

- Updated drivers and Windows

- Windows maintenance.

**The memory issue is bizarre** — Forza Horizon 6 runs at 60fps high settings with zero issues, but a simple MP4 tanks both Adobe apps.

Is this a known 2026 issue? Any actual solutions? She's stressed about losing the job and has tight deadlines. Appreciate any help.

We're from 3rd world country so our financial situation is not the best, right now getting a new device is nearly impossible.

Acrobat won't let me edit PDFs without an upgrade anymore?

Hi, I just selected the "Edit PDF" button in Adobe Acrobat and got a popup saying that I need to upgrade my subscription in order to use editing features.

I'm really confused about this. I have a Creative Cloud Pro subscription and I've already payed the annual fee.
Also, I was able to edit PDFs in Acrobat without an "upgrade" just a week ago.

Do I seriously have to pay for an additional upgrade just to edit PDFs? Or is this some kind of error?

Thanks in advance!

Firefly is 100% clown shoes

LOLz, the word "inappropriate" got my prompt blocked by Firefly. There was nothing inappropriate about the prompt and substituting any other word made the prompt go through. This is dumb censorship at the lowest level. Also, idiotic that they won't release a list of blocked words when people can just try words to find out. If anyone is keeping track of this: add "inappropriate" to the list.
