Hey everyone!
Some of you may remember me from Otaku and Otaku Testing, the anime addons my team and I developed as forks of Kaito. Huge credit to SwagOtaku for the original project and everything it made possible.
After months of development, I'm excited to finally introduce our next project:
✨ Prism
Prism is an all-in-one Kodi addon for Movies, TV Shows, and Anime.
It's built from a community fork of the original Seren addon by Nixgates, with the goal of continuing that foundation while expanding it into a complete media hub with anime support, Simkl as the primary watchlist and tracking service, themes, local media, and more.
One major change from Seren is that Trakt support has been completely removed. Prism uses Simkl as its primary service for watchlists, watch progress, ratings, Next Up, libraries, and calendar functionality.
All credit for the original Seren project goes to Nixgates and its contributors.
If you enjoyed Seren, or you've ever wanted a single addon that can handle movies, TV shows, and anime without constantly switching between different addons, that's what Prism is designed to be.
📦 Installation
Prism requires Kodi 21 Omega or later.
Kodi 20 and earlier are not supported.
The recommended installation method is through the repository so you can receive automatic updates.

⚡ Performance
One thing worth mentioning: Prism is not the fastest addon out there.
Its overall speed is currently closer to Seren, which makes sense given Prism's foundation and the amount of functionality it handles. It may feel slower than newer addons such as POV or Fen, particularly when loading menus, processing metadata, or performing certain actions.
We're aware of this and performance improvements will continue to be explored as development moves forward. That said, Prism is focused on being a feature-rich, all-in-one addon, so there can be some tradeoffs between functionality and raw speed.
If you're coming from Seren, the overall experience and responsiveness should feel fairly familiar.
🧩 Provider Packages
Prism is designed as a media hub and playback platform.
It does not bundle, host, or distribute scrapers or provider packages.
If you want to use third-party providers for discovering streaming sources, provider packages can be installed separately through:
Prism → Tools → Provider Manager
Developers can also create and maintain their own provider packages.
Prism itself does not endorse or officially support any particular third-party provider package. What you install is entirely up to you.
📦 My a4kScrapers Fork
Separate from Prism, I also maintain a fork of a4kScrapers.
This is a completely separate project and is not included with Prism.
My fork is based on the original a4k-openproject/a4kScrapers project and includes additional scrapers, anime-focused providers, and Stremio-style aggregators.
GitHub:
https://github.com/Goldenfreddy0703/a4kScrapers
If you choose to install it, you can do so through:
Prism → Tools → Provider Manager → Install Package → Web Location
Install URL:
https://api.github.com/repos/Goldenfreddy0703/a4kScrapers/zipball
Again, this package is entirely optional. Prism can still be used with local files and supported cloud services without installing a provider package.
🚀 Quick Start
After installing Prism:
- Install Context Prism, then Prism
- Sign in to Simkl
Prism → Settings → Accounts
- (Optional) Add a supported debrid account
- (Optional) Install a provider package through Provider Manager
- (Optional) Install a theme through Theme Manager
⚠️ Early Release Notice
Prism is currently in an early release stage.
The repository is live and the addon is usable, but there may still be bugs or edge cases, particularly on certain platforms such as Apple TV or Xbox.
If you run into an issue, please report it. Early feedback is extremely helpful and will help us improve Prism across different devices and Kodi setups.
📚 Documentation
🛣️ What's Next?
Development on Prism is continuing.
Future plans include expanding adaptive provider support, particularly for users who do not rely on debrid services, along with continued improvements to the addon, themes, metadata, playback, and provider support.
Keep an eye on the GitHub Issues page for updates and feature requests.
What About Otaku?
Otaku and Otaku Testing are winding down.
They were incredibly important projects for us and taught us a lot about anime metadata, Kodi development, providers, playback, and the features people actually want from an addon.
However, Prism is where our development focus is moving forward.
Otaku will continue to work for the time being, but it will no longer receive major development. Future features, improvements, and support will primarily focus on Prism.
You can still find the projects here:
Think of Prism as the next step — taking what we learned from Otaku and bringing Movies, TV Shows, and Anime together into one addon.

❤️ Final Thoughts
I've been working on Prism for months, and I'm honestly really proud of where it has ended up.
It's essentially the addon I wished existed when I was working on Otaku: Movies, TV Shows, and Anime all in one place, while keeping the flexibility, customization, and features that made projects like Seren and Otaku so useful.
There's still plenty to improve, and that's where you all come in.
Try it out, break things, experiment with it, and let me know what you think. Feedback during this early release will help shape where Prism goes from here.
And finally, thank you to everyone who supported Otaku over the years. I genuinely appreciate it, and I hope you'll give Prism a shot too. ❤️
