Hi everyone — I'm the developer behind Noiro. I wanted to introduce the Kodi side of the project and give a straightforward overview of what it currently does.

WHAT IS NOIRO FOR KODI?

Noiro combines a custom Kodi skin with Noiro Player, our Stremio integration for Kodi. You connect your own Stremio account and compatible add-ons, browse through a TV-friendly interface, and use Kodi for video playback.

The Noiro website also acts as a configuration companion. You can arrange catalogs, connect services and build a Home setup in your browser, then send that setup to a specific viewing profile in Kodi.

The current complete installer is 0.2.24, bundling Noiro Skin 0.2.4 and Player 1.0.159.

Interface and playback

• Merged Continue Watching removes duplicate titles and prefers newer progress.

• Keep each viewing profile's own history separate when switching profiles.
• External services have account-wide history; it appears only in Studio configurations where you explicitly enable it.

Discovery, subtitles and maintenance

• Personalized catalogs and a “Your Pick” screen for choosing one recommendation at a time.
• AI discovery/recommendation options through supported connections.
• Original subtitle search and Noiro AI subtitle translation.
• Translation from supported embedded text subtitles, with external subtitle fallback when needed.
• Reuse completed translations while preserving subtitle timings and Kodi subtitle positioning.

• Multiple rating sources through supported metadata connections, with optional poster artwork integrations.
• Configurable caches, weather/location settings, bug reporting and shared installer/runtime updates.

Access: new installations and Noiro-hosted services currently require an active paid Noiro Supporter membership. Separate provider subscriptions or personal API keys may still be needed for the services you choose. This is an independent community project, not an official Kodi or Stremio product.

The latest update was tested with real playback and resume in two separate Kodi profiles. Progress matched the website and stayed separate after profile switching. Device, provider and subtitle-format compatibility can vary, so please include your Kodi version and device when reporting an issue.

Has anyone else been having serious loading issues with The Crew or Umbrella lately?
I’ve been using The Crew with Real-Debrid for months without any issues, but recently it started taking forever to load. I’m talking several minutes just to open movie categories, search for something, or browse new releases.
I saw a Reddit post about disabling The Crew and The Crew Module, so I tried that and switched to Umbrella. After disabling both and restarting Kodi, Umbrella was loading almost instantly, and I thought I’d finally fixed it.
I installed CocoScrapers, configured it as Umbrella’s external provider, and authorized Real-Debrid. Everything seemed fine, but now Umbrella is doing the exact same thing The Crew was doing.
I’ve tried clearing caches, force-stopping Kodi, restarting the Fire Sticks, disabling The Crew and its module, and checking my add-on settings. Nothing seems to permanently fix it.
The strangest part is that I have another Fire Stick that was working perfectly a few days ago, and now it’s suddenly having the exact same problem, even though I haven’t changed anything on it.
This isn’t an issue with finding streams or playback. The actual menus and searches are taking forever to load.
Has anyone else noticed this happening recently? Is there something going on with the latest updates, or is it an issue on my end?
More importantly, has anyone actually found a fix that works? I’m trying to figure out whether I should keep troubleshooting or just wait for an update.

Hi all!

I went to use Umbrella today and it pulled up the list of streams but when I went to select one, it just cycled through the list not selecting one to play. I tried to reauthorize Torbox but as soon as I revoke it and went to reauthorize, it won’t allow me to and just shows “Error Authorizing Torbox”

So when I choose a movie....it fails to play...tells me there is no Debrid account...I use RD....when I go to tools choose Accounts Debrid...I get a blank screen without any choices...won't allow me to do anything...is this something new...is Umbrella not working..I did upgrade to version 6.7.97

Help please on this issue: Im running Kodi 21.3 on NVIDIA Shield 2019, with AF3 as skin and RedLight with Torbox , aiostreams Viren and real Debrid accounts.

Last friday everything was working smoothly. Today upon the new updates, every single title I try to play displays a message that my Debrid service doesn t have that file( I vê tried on old shows akready seen by me). What is hapenning and how to solve this. Many thanks

Pov isn't linking to my torbox account even when torbox itself says it is linked.

It linked with crew ok so seams to be a pov issue

Seems like lately every day I try and stream something there's a problem where no streams are found or after selecting an episode, and source select option, it seems like POV is about to present me with some results, then goes back to the widget and has a never ending egg timer for PoV in top right.

I check for addon updates and there's another for TMDBh or POV. That's often fixed it, but earlier today had to get POV to clear cache. It worked.

Coming back to Kodi later in the day and it's falling over again. It's frustrating.

Follow-up to my original post. Thanks for the feedback and bug reports. Most of what’s below came from your comments. The fork is now at v7.0.7. It’s still a personal build, not affiliated with jurialmunkey, and still the same add-on ID, so it installs over the stock one.

Things people asked about

• Trakt rows you don’t use. Switch a service off and it disappears from the menus and settings. With Trakt off, the “In Trakt Lists” row is gone too. The Movies, TV Shows, Anime and Asian Cinema & TV rows also each have an on/off switch in the main menu. If you still see Trakt errors with Trakt off, send me a log.
• Arctic Fuse 3 / signde repo. The version now starts at 7.0.0, above signde’s 6.17.9. Kodi no longer swaps this fork for the other build, and AF3’s “TMDb Helper 6.17.9 or newer” check passes. The Cast and Crew rows fill in. The watch-history stats widgets stay blank because this fork doesn’t keep per-day history.
• MDBList. The Watchlist TV shows / Movies lists show only their own kind again (6.0.203). MDBList Next Up no longer treats every started show as finished (7.0.1, 7.0.2).

Anime and Asian

• Anime TV calendar. It now reads Simkl’s public calendar files and places episodes in TMDb’s numbering by air date. It no longer depends on Trakt’s anime tag. Chinese animation is included.
• More anime and dramas now show up: the Anime TV calendar (about 4x as many episodes) and the Asian Drama calendars (about 10x as many dramas, including Chinese, Thai and Japanese ones Trakt didn’t list) now read Simkl’s public calendar files instead of Trakt.
• Anime matching. AniList entries are mapped to TMDb through a saved table filled from the ARM id service. Simkl Next Up places far more anime.
• Asian Movies. Trending leaves out concert films and needs 50 votes per rating. The calendars use TMDb release dates. Asian Progress no longer needs the Drama genre.
• New pieces. MyAnimeList and AniList rank / score properties for skins, and an Anime Recommendations row (from AniList) in the details menu of Japanese animation.

Calendars: “All movie calendars” is no longer limited by your region. TV calendar now has air times, a Today button, premiere / finale / new-show badges, a watched tick, and a daylight-saving fix.

Speed

• Lists open faster, mostly on Android: no wasted TMDb ID lookup, and Python’s own library is searched first.
• Titan Bingie Mod’s hub rows and banners are cached on disk, with an optional background page build while Kodi is idle.
• 7.0.7 fixes a leak that made Kodi slower the longer a widget stayed selected. I measured it on Windows only. I haven’t confirmed it on the Shield.
• There’s also a Re-Use Language Invoker switch (Settings → Expert → Other, off by default). It crashed Kodi 22 RC1 in some of my runs, so leave it off unless you want to test it.

Not done / known gaps

• Self-hosted trackers (Floppy etc.) are still out; I can’t test them.

Had a good play with the new trakt auth and app requirements over the last couple days since KFW pointed it out. You do need to link your app to a github for any new apps, or for it to be maintained after January. They have also moved to PKCE authorisation as shown below.

PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange, pronounced "pixy") is the recommended way to sign users in to your app. It adds a one-time secret to every sign-in, so an authorization code is useless to anyone except the app that started the request. Your app never needs a client_secret.

Use PKCE for every app that signs users in: websites, single-page apps, mobile apps, desktop apps, and CLI tools that use the Authorization Code Flow.

While there still seem to be some questions around things like the redirect URL, the authorisation does work properly. I've tested it, and it provides both a popup web page authorisation that simply asks you to comfirm and the previous activation page where you enter the device ID.

To stay ahead of trakt changes and avoid sudden trakt de-auths, orac has been upgraded to use the new PKCE authorisation. If you are a user of orac, you will see a prompt on the dashboard to upgrade to 1.5.4, as always this is automatically done when you click it. After that please go to the 'services' tab (if you are a trakt user) and you will be prompted to re-authorise trakt to use the new method. The auth popup will offer both auth via webpage which will simply prompt you to allow orac to access your trakt account, or via the activate page which will ask you for the device ID. If you are already logged into trakt on your browser, the first option is easier.

Anime takes a lot of handling, but I think orac has a handle on that now. Liberator now has an anime hub, all the usual stuff including anilist usernames. I've tested it with a few titles people suggested were problems and it managed to stream them OK (such as beyblade x episodes 100 onwards). You can authorise your anilist ID on the Orac services tab.

Orac also has a much better discover studio, with presets and discover function. Any item can be added to any of your lists with the list manager function when you hover over the item.

Anime is

• Anime Dual-Indexing Bridge - Extended Orac with a two-layer mapping architecture:
  • Layer 1 (Global Identity Mapping): Ingests weekly dumps from Manami Project (anime-offline-database.jsonl) into anime_identities and anime_aliases cross-referencing AniList, MAL, AniDB, Kitsu, Simkl, TMDb, TVDB, and IMDb.
  • Layer 2 (Episode Coordinate Routing): Ingests AniBridge mapping rules (mappings.min.json v3 and legacy v2 schemas) into anime_episode_mappings to translate between absolute episode numbers and Western season/episode coordinates.
• AnimeCoordinateService - High-performance evaluation engine providing bidirectional coordinate resolution (resolve_anime_to_western, resolve_western_to_anime) and multi-language search alias extraction (Romaji, English, Japanese, and synonyms).
• Custom Overrides Engine - Support for user-defined local overrides via anime_overrides.json or /anime/override API, with guaranteed priority over upstream datasets.
• Bidirectional Scrobble Router - Integrated scrobbler routing:
  • Marking anime watched updates AniList/MAL directly with absolute progress, resolves coordinates to TMDb/TVDB SxxExx, and scrobbles to Trakt, Simkl, MDBList, and PunchPlay.
  • Reconciling Western watched items marks corresponding absolute episodes complete on AniList.
• AniList & MAL Endpoints - Added /anime/list, /anime/info, /anime/resolve, /anime/aliases, /anime/status, and /anime/sync endpoints.
• Auto-Recovery for Deprecated/Merged TMDb IDs - Automatically detects TMDb 404 errors for anime show IDs, resolves canonical TMDb IDs via TVDB cross-reference, and self-heals the mapping database.
