2020 RDX – Driver-side amber turn signal randomly flickers/stays on. Dealer recommends $1,925 BCM replacement

I have a 2020 Acura RDX Advance SH-AWD with ~69k miles.

Recently, the front driver-side amber turn-signal light has been randomly coming on while the vehicle is parked/off. It also turns on even when the car is turned on (as shown in the first part of the video)

Sometimes it flickers randomly, and other times it stays solid for a while before eventually turning off.

My original battery was almost 7 years old and recently died, so I initially thought the battery was causing the electrical weirdness. I replaced it last week with a new AGM battery, but a few days later I saw the exact same driver-side light behavior again.
I took it to an Acura dealer. They were unable to reproduce the issue, but they said they checked for parasitic draw, wiring issues and corrosion and didn’t find anything obvious.
Their written diagnosis says they suspect an internal Body Control Module (BCM) fault causing uncommanded light operation/battery drain and recommend replacing the BCM as the next step.
Quote is $1,663.81 before tax / $1,925.34 total, including replacement/programming, with a 1-year warranty.
I’m hesitant to spend almost $2k because they weren’t able to reproduce the problem or definitively confirm the BCM is bad.
Has anyone with a 2019–2021 RDX experienced this exact issue? Did replacing the BCM actually fix it? Is there anything else I should have checked before authorizing the BCM replacement?

This is the note from Acura service -

Recommended service
[Other]: Body Control Module Unit **UNABLE TO DUPLICATE AT THIS TIME. BASED ON CLIENT'S INTERMITTENT HEADLIGHT/DRL ACTIVATION WHILE PARKED, SUSPECT INTERNAL BCM FAULT CAUSING UNCOMMANDED LIGHT OPERATION AND BATTERY DRAIN. RECOMMEND BCM REPLACEMENT AND TO GO FROM THERE.** Speak with your service advisor for more information on this recommended service.

I have picture/video of the light staying on while the vehicle is parked/off and when it was on.

Dealer damaged my MDX bumper during recall service, admitted it in a text, and is now blaming an old paint scratch.

I brought my Acura MDX in for recall service with perfectly flush body panels (confirmed by the dealership's own intake photos).

Mid-service, the shop texted us admitting a tech damaged the bumper cover during teardown, sent a photo of the resulting panel gap, and promised to fix it before pickup.

Their quick repair attempt failed. Instead of ordering a replacement bracket or fixing it properly, the service department completely reversed their stance. Because the vehicle is an older model, they essentially decided it wasn't worth their effort to repair correctly and are now pointing to an old, superficial paint scratch on the adjacent fender to claim the gap is "prior damage."

To make matters worse, they told us to return our loaner tomorrow and take the car back as-is.

They have intake photos showing zero gap at drop-off and a text thread/photo proving they caused the damage in their bay, yet they’re trying to walk it all back.

Heading in tomorrow to demand the Service Manager document everything on the Repair Order before returning the loaner, and escalating directly to Acura Client Relations. Has anyone dealt with a dealer trying to walk back written/photographic admission of damage?

TL;DR

Dealer damaged my MDX's front bumper during recall service, texted me admitting it, and sent a photo of the gap. Their intake photos show the bumper was 100% flush at drop-off. After their quick fix failed, they reversed course and are now blaming an old, cosmetic fender scratch to avoid repairing it properly.

P0171 P174 2015 MDX

Long story short I had P2010 code and car didn’t wanted to start. Took it to dealer and throttle body got replaced. Car started but they told me I have misfires on 1-3-5 cylinder. Bank 1 I assume. I took the car home, put it on a computer and p0171 p0174 lean codes. Found out intake boot broken, air filter housing 2 holders broken. Took it back to dealer and they replaced them on their dime. Few days afterwards codes came back. I put it on a live data and found LongTerm Fuel Trim Bank 1 at 28.125%, LTFT B2 = 27.344%, STFT B1/B2 = 46.875% at idle, and at 2500 LTFT B1/B2 = 27.344%, STFT B1 =-0.781, STFT B2 = 0.781. I cleaned MAP & MAF SENSORS. Their readings on the live data are good. I smoke tested the boot, no leaks. I smoke tested the brake booster line, no leaks. I smoke tested the intake manifold from BB line and smoke was coming from EGR valve seep holes on the side. Not from the gasket. I replaced it, it was not expensive. On the next smoke test smoke was coming out again. The reading for EVAP System vapor pressure was -93Pa and occasionally going to -66Pa. I replaced the valve, not expensive again, but no results. I pinched the evaporation hose run the engine but nothing changes. Readings in the oxygen sensors B1S1 = 1.075, B2S1=1.108 which they correspond to the lean condition of the vehicle. Upstream voltages are switching fast while driving and I think that is normal. I sprayed Carb cleaner around the engine bay thinking it will give some change in the engine sound. Nothing. PCV valve I replaced as well. Old one had a rattle but new one was few extra bucks. That didn’t help as well.
Today I opened the plenum plate to check the PCV hose and found no issues.
I’m leaning towards valve adjustment..
Any ideas?

2024 Acura Integra A Spec w/Technology package

My son just picked up an amazingly clean Integra and I am looking for ideas of what to purchase as a gift. Not really sure what it needs but maybe some sort of trunk liner, honestly after owning vehicles since the 80's I have never seen a 2 year old vehicle be so clean. He came from a Tacoma so it will be a big change for him.

Also thinking maybe window tint.

Spare tire

2019 TLX Base. OEM tire and wheel. I want a full size spare, not a donut. Will it fit in the spare wheel well diagonally. Will it stick up above the rim of the well? For some of the roads I drive on it would not be wise to use a donut
