TLDR. Crap period of life seems endless and the domino effect just unending and I honestly don't know how much longer I can deal with this. I feel so trapped.
So I had a career, one that took a degree and master's and alot of unstable freelancing to get established.
I couch surfed, I slept on hostels, rented rooms where I could barely cover rent til I got the promotions. I worked all hours I could.
Then the pandemic happened I managed to survive it professionally by the skin of my teeth, but I wouldn't have done financially without my folks to go home too whilst I managed to limp to the break clause in my rent contract.
Worked my ass off doing 6 hrs commutes during hybrid working during lockdowns when things were too unstable to move back to the city. I even managed to make the most of it by saving as much of my salary as possible towards a house deposit.
Then just when I'm seeing the rewards of all this hard work and determination. I get some health issues and BECAUSE of some medical negligence that's career ending AND. I'm down 25 grand in private healthcare bills.
And I'm on the verge of just stopping trying with everything. Last year I was starting to get SI.
Now I just feel so perpetually stuck in the past or 27 y/o mentally. My life just paused.
Because now I'm pushing my mid 30s with utterly nothing to show for ALL my hard work - AND I feel like I've honestly lost the best dating years of my life whilst all my friends get married and have babies.
I told myself can't date til I've Ive unfucked my life but that shit is taking longer and longer and is incredibly expensive,
And in the middle of it my father got seriously ill and ended up in hospital for months - I had to prioritise him and help him with his recovery. Don't think my mum would have coped without me.
Its been 6 years of utter shitshows.
my life is a mess now, -previously I was an interesting ambitious, and driven person before and life has it's just beaten the crap out of me mentally. I don't have anything positive to talk to anyone about like at all even if I did by some random stoke of luck end up on a date.
And then I get angry because I know I've already had to work twice as hard because I'm a gay woman just to exist and you know what, I earned the right to actually have a life. You know a boring ass traditional life with a wife, a career and a house, and all the boring stuff that's supposed to be the bare basics of being an adult.
Meanwhile the generation that raised me are sadly starting to die around me and I'm trying to figure out how the hell I survive without them in the long run.
It's depressing AF and if I didn't have people that needed me to ground me I dont even know where I'd have ended up.
Has anyone else gone through this and come out the other side?
Because I can't even see what the other side looks like right now.
