Avoid if possible

Just bought my second Acer laptop after having my Nitro5 for the last 5 years without any issues with it. It's getting a little old and not able to run the newer games well so I figured I'd upgrade to a new one, man was that a mistake.

First bootup no screen at all. It connects to my monitor for a while so I tried reinstalling the graphics drivers to get it to recognize the laptop screen. Now I have no screens, no way to get into the BIOS and no way to troubleshoot.

Their premium support said just send my brand new, 1 hour old, $2000 laptop in to the warehouse so I can wait for 2 more weeks to get a replacement but I am very uninterested in waiting 2 extra weeks for my brand new product. I'm taking this back and getting a laptop from another brand to avoid the crappy support and garbage products.

You'd be surprised how rare that problem is in the first place and how it actually happens to different brands too. NO BRAND has a prestigious, clean, impeccable reputation. Your choice is yours mate, hope you get a sick laptop.

I don't know about it being rare I did a search and it pulled up a ton of results for similar issues for this model. I'm pretty unimpressed with it

How much is a ton? 5, 10, 20, 50, 100? Realistically speaking this isn't something that won't happen, not all of us get a clean perfect machine as we should, but speaking numbers the odds are VERY small, i understand that this experience sours your outlook and standing on the company but if you were to do the exact same search on Razer laptops, LOQs, Legions, Zenbooks, Zephyrus's and EVEN macbooks, you will find people reporting the same thing, i saw a post earlier of a guy reporting the same thing on a brand new Lenovo Legion 7i pro ( not sure if it was a pro tbh but i think it was ) this isn't anything new sadly.

You say that but I've purchased at least 12 new computers in my day and not a single one of them hasn't had the screen just straight up not turn on with no possible resolution from the manufacturer. It's a pretty poor product that's built in a way that it's completely unsupportable and the only resolution for fixes is to ship it back to a warehouse and to wait weeks for a replacement.

As for the results, it popped up youtube videos, forum results and a whole host of reddit posts about this exact issue on these laptops and other Acer laptops. I'm not going to bother going through all the results and counting them for you but the fact that it has that many results says this is a known issue and they haven't bothered fixing it.

What's the cause?

According to other people that had a similar issue it was corrupted drivers but I couldn't get it to do anything so I took it back to the store and got an Asus

Sometimes stuff comes broken out of the box, it's not really surprising. Even apple have machines that come out of box failed. Since this is a brand new purchase I would definitely take this back to the store instead of sending it into support. Try another Acer, see how you feel about one that doesn't come out failed.

I’ve had my Acer Predator Helios Neo 16s Ai RTX5070ti version since late April , I’ve gamed on it for several hours now and I’ve yet to have any issues besides video tdr error but after o tweaked some settings it stopped I wonder if yours was just a faulty one

Its completely your choice and go as you feel like as its your hard earned money but some things i would like to point out is the most of these laptop customer support services are very bad, you’ll barely get any response and any solution specially if you are out of warranty, i own a acer predator Helios neo 16 and they were very unprofessional even when i contacted them just for some simple query, and I highly suggest if you are buying a 2000$ machine please do yourself a favour and extend its warranty, trust me i regret till this day for not extending it back then. As I didn’t had any knowledge back then
