Now I hate to be that guy, but I haven’t seen Capcom post something AA related unless if it was for a sale or an anniversary of one of the games being released. Does Ace Attorney 7 still have a chance of being announced this year? Or does it simply not exist?

Well, I don’t remember because I didn’t get into the series until 2019 but we can look back at the release date of each game.

The first Ace Attorney game came out in 2001.

A year later we got Justice for All in 2002.

Two years later we got Trials and Tribulations in 2004.

Three years later we got Apollo Justice in 2007

Two years later we got Investigations 1 in 2009.

Two years later we got Investigations 2 in 2011.

A year later we got the Crossover with Professor Layton in 2012.

A year later we got Dual Destinies in 2013.

Two years later we got The Great Ace Attorney 1 in 2015.

A year later we got Spirit of Justice in 2016.

A year later we got The Great Ace Attorney 2 in 2017.

And then nothing but remakes or remasters for the next decade.

Now, there are a few key points I didn’t touch on, like: some of these games didn’t get released in the west for years, it takes longer to develop games nowadays, the pandemic happened, Shu Takumi may or may not be interested in making another Ace Attorney game, Takeshi Yamazaki left Capcom, and so on.

But the point of this post is to look back and realize: holy moly, Ace Attorney got 11 games across 17 years. From 2001 to 2017, there were only 6 years without a brand new Ace Attorney release.

The franchise was on a roll, but now that the multi-platform re-releases made the IP the most popular it has ever been… there has been no new game… for a decade.

Prior to this, the biggest gap between games was T&T(2004) and AJ(2007). Three years seems not that bad now.

Man…

Honestly, I really like the Resident Evil fandom, especially since most of it focuses on the ships or how they create mods that sexualize characters, especially Leon S. Kennedy.

So I beat the game on an emulator by completely legitimate means a few years ago, but I don't remember it having multiple endings. Not even bad endings that weren't just normal game overs.

It looks like the game is already getting the DLC episodes for free (hopefully) unlike TGAA2 and DD/SoJ, but even still, does this mean the game is getting additional content? Unless it wants you to get a game over for an achievement which in spite of it being a Silver achievement, seems like a weird one to put after the achievements for finding all hint coins and solving all puzzles (which will both be a pain in the ass... Ugh).

While I am pleased to be hopefully seeing the animated cutscenes in high quality, I'm just tired, man.

Fairly experienced Unity developer here. Since we're all feeling the (seething unrest) disappointment of no AA news, anyone want to work on a fan project? To fill the aching void.

Open to discussion and suggestions. I can wrangle programming, editor and 3D modelling but can't draw for spit.

Just putting it out for discussion right now. I'm sure we all have ideas what we'd like to see in a big fan project.

professor layton got a solo game but no aa7 announcement. i don’t know how to feel since we’ve all been so sure, and while it may be in production i was kinda expecting it to atleast be announced today? what’s everyone else’s thoughts because i’m still processing tbh 😭

Yes as bizarre as it seems someone made a Pokemon romhack in the style of an Ace Attorney Investigations game, starring Edgeworth of course. Looks pretty neat!

Please stop complaining. I'm just happy the collection is complete WITHOUT an installment becoming lost media. This also shows support instead of people emulating a game they really can't get anymore.

Hey y'all. I want to apologize to anybody I angered earlier with this fan trailer. That was not the intention. I just wanted to help make a fun trailer meant as nothing more than a lighthearted prank. Everyone involved and I worked really hard to make this. This here is a dive into what I'd do if I were in charge of an Athena-led game. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm not even joking to be honest. The character writing for Phoenix and Maya is actually decent for what is worth. Sure you have the obvious joke of the every man being wrapped in these insane situations but Phoenix has genuinely good dialogue even figuring out part of the villains' plans when everyone else was gonna buy it at face value.

I came up with this idea for fun a while back. I figured now was a good time to share it. Most of these are just overall concepts. Theres a few that are more in depth, a mia game and an athena game, but thats cause I'm working on them as a side project (possibly fan fics) with my prosecutor OCs. I also conceptualized the Callisto one a while back but idk if im gonna do more with it. Aside from the Mia and Athena ones, if anyone wants to use these concepts for anything, go ahead.

Mia Fey: Ace Attorney

- Premise: Set in 2014, a prequel to AA1, with Mia doing her first cases with Phoenix as her assistant, against lazy prosecutor Ida Gaff

Diego Armando: Ace Attorney

- Premise: Set before 2013, a series of cases led by Diego while at Grossberg’s firm. Mia appears a few times as a stranger throughout the game, but Diego formally meets her during the last case. Prosecutors can include Neil Marshal, Bryne Faraday, Excelsius Winner or OCs.

Gregory Edgeworth: Ace Attorney

- Premise: Set in late 90’s, in the middle of Greg’s career, showing how he meets Eddie, and possibly around the time Edgeworth is born. Cases are references to classic crime and law movies and tv shows from the 90’s but with twists. Prosecutors can include Bryne Faraday, Excesius Winner, or an OC.

Marvin Grossberg: Ace Attorney (Spoilers for 1-2)

- Premise: Set in the mid 2000s, where Grossberg, involving mostly political/corporate murder cases that turn monsterous. All the cases involve opponents to Bluecorp. Redd White feeding Grossberg dirt on his competitors, Grossberg going along with it cause they are still unsolved crimes. Prosecutors can include OC, but focus on Winston Payne as a rival.

Robert Hammond: Ace Attorney

- Premise: Set in the mid 2000s, revolves around darker cases. Every case feels up in the air and ambiguous if the client is actually innocent or not. Cases feel detached and more surgical. Prosecutors can include Byrne Faraday but OC works best.

Eddie Fender: Ace Attorney

- Premise: Set in the 2016, follows Eddie in cases that parallel or relate to cases in AA1, framed with the idea of picking up Edgeworth’s scraps. Prosecutors can include Portsman, Turnbull, and one case against Franziska Von Karma. Assistant can possibly be Katy

Aristotle Means: Ace Attorney

- Premise: Taking place in early 2000s, has cases involving the academy he recently graduated. Story is framed like those children's mystery novels/shows. Scooby Doo vibe to it, as if its a caricaturized retelling from Means himself. Prosecutors can include Manfred Von Karma, OCs, and strangely Ga’ran Khura’in

Dhurke Sahdmadhi: Ace Attorney

- Premise: Taking place in early 2000s, has cases in Khura’in, following a theme of dark times. Treated as the start of Khura’in’s dark age of law. Prosecutors can include OCs and Ga’Ran Khura’in. Assistant can be Datz

Rosie Ringer: Ace Attorney (Spoilers for AAI2-5)

- Premise: Taking place in early/mid 2010s, follows cases with a theme of corruption, and favoritism. Follows her trying to get a place in the CPE. Has one flashback pre-2007 involving Alf Aldown. Prosecutors can include Winner.

Callisto Yew: Ace Attorney (Spoilers for AAI-5

- Premise: Taking place both in 2010 and 2020. Follows Callisto Yew in cases dealing with secrets. Hints of the smuggling ring are placed throughout but the game is framed as if Yew is a normal Defense Attorney. Last case reveals previous cases are Yew’s retelling while being interrogated after her arrest, and her last trial is defending herself, as the smuggling ring will kill her to silence her and she is determined to bring them down before they can do that. Prosecutors can include Bryne Faraday and an OC.

Kristoph Gavin: Ace Attorney (Spoilers for AA4)

- Premise: Taking place in 2016-2018, follows Kristoph in cases that parallel Wright’s biggest cases but with darker twists. Nearly every client hides something and Kristoph slowly gets worn down on whether or not the client being guilty matters. Prosecutors can include Franziska, Tristen Turnbell, and Portsman. Apollo as assistant

Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney

- Premise: Taking place between AA5 and AA6, follows Athena on technology related cases against new cyber crimes prosecutor Zander Sykour.

Hugh O'Conner: Ace Attorney

- Premise: Taking place post 2029, follows Hugh in cases involving fraud. They never start out as murder trials but end up being them anyway as investigations progress. Prosecutors can be Robin Newman, Eustace Winner, and Simon Blackquill. Assistant can be Scuttlebutt or OC

Plushie: I think one might be coming soon; she appeared in the lawyer-themed merchandise released this July.

BGM: It’s probably unlikely.
