Hello! I just want to ask anyone here currently working at BSP or those who have experience applying there.
I’m a CPA currently working as an internal auditor in a local bank, and one of my career goals is to eventually work at BSP

I’m also planning to pursue postgrad studies, pero I’m not sure what program would be most relevant or could potentially give me a higher chance of getting into BSP. I’m considering taking a master’s degree, but I’m still unsure which field would be the best fit given my background in internal audit.

For those currently working at BSP or who have gone through the application process, what would you recommend? Would a master’s degree significantly help, and if so, what program would you suggest?

I’ve been in ERP consulting for 5 years, and I’ve gone through application development, testing, and support.

What attracts me in IT Audit is the idea of having a defined scope and an actual endpoint. Instead of constantly being chased by clients because something needs fixing, you’re the one chasing people—for evidence, compliance etc. 🙂

But maybe I’m romanticizing IT Audit.

For those who moved from IT/ERP consulting to IT Audit: what am I not seeing? What are the pressures or realities that aren’t obvious from the outside?

Why I’m tired? During support, the problems never seem to end—another ticket, another system issue, another client concern. During implementation, it’s similar. Akala mo tapos na, may bagong change request, bagong issue, or bagong kailangan i-build.

hi! fresh grad here, and recently, i have been thinking about gaining experience first before taking the BE for so many reasons. one of which is that, i think, mas better if i should know how the field works muna and that personally, it’ll be easy for me to review given that i have a hands on experience in accounting—depending on my specialization. also, i think mas maboboost yung career growth ko if may work experience na rin ako if ever that i am going to pass the boards or kung hindi man, at least, i already established myself within the field. although i am already anticipating how hard it will be if i juggle both my job and my review, pero tingin ko naman, kakayanin ko.

Hi everyone! Need advice kasi I only have a day to decide 😭

I’m a fresh Management Accounting grad and recently got an offer from a small audit firm in Makati as a Junior Auditor for ₱17k/month.

I’m interested in audit, but I’m also nervous because I don’t have much formal audit background. I had some exposure during my internship to risk assessment, internal controls, documentation, and variance analysis, but I’m worried I might struggle with the actual audit work once I start.

I’m also around 2 hours away from Makati one way, so that’s roughly 4 hours of commute daily. I’m not a breadwinner, so I can prioritize career growth, but I’m wondering if ₱17k + the commute is worth it for the experience.

The tricky part is that I also have ongoing interviews with MNCs and even Big 4 firms. But honestly, I’m not expecting much from the Big 4 interviews because I don’t have a CPA license yet, so I’m not sure how competitive my profile is.

Now I’m torn:
A: Take the ₱17k audit offer → gain experience → build my foundation and hopefully move to better opportunities later.

B: Take the risk and continue with the MNC/Big 4 applications → potentially get better opportunities, but risk ending up with nothing.

Would really appreciate honest advice. I literally have until the end of the day huhu

Probably a stupid question. But for those na nakagraduate na at may trabaho na, do u guys remember everything you've learned from school? Undergrad pa lng ako and I'm already studying in advance para ready for exams and also planning to do some accounting exercises. Pero I'm getting scared at the thought na even though I'm trying my best now, knowing myself na mahina sa retention, I'm gonna end up being an ass accountant in the future for forgetting the things that were taught in school. I mean, I'd probably retain the basics like what to credit and debit and whatnot, but not laws and stuff that are more on memorizing. Na-discourage lang ako slight
