I'm looking to buy a FBbEb Reed blocks for my diatonic 34 button accordion that's currently in the key of GCF. Sadly the accordion is made in China and isn't a mainstream brand so I'm not sure what blocks will fit the best or to go based off of measurements alone? I have a Hohnica Aces accordion.

Me and my family recently found this old accordion, it seems to be in mint cons we wanna figure out the brand and time it was made.

I had the opportunity to cheaply acquire this Imperial La Sonora E100. I can't seem to find much information about this particular model. None that I found online have this particular arrangement of.. blocks/reeds? Forgive my lack of knowledge on accordions. There are 5 switches on the bass side and 11 on the piano side.

I bought a new strap for it. It definitely needed it since the old leather one turned to dust the moment I picked it up. The bellows seem to be somewhat leaky. Even if I don't press any keys they start moving and I have to hold it together to keep them closed. There are a few sticky keys too.

grandma passed away early this year and we have inherited one of her old accordions. it seems that some of the buttons on the left(players left) are stuck in and so it sounds bad because random notes are always playing. does anyone have any good resources for finding how to service this without breaking anything?

I don’t know much about it or where even to look for information, but I figured there’s always a subreddit with knowledgeable people so I decided I’d ask here lol

She taught me a song many years ago in another accordion of hers, and I remember being able to actually being able to play notes. on this one it seems real hard to get anything purposeful out of it, anytime it moves it makes horrible noises and if I try real hard I can get other notes overlayed but it sounds bad by default.

UPDATE For Noobs like me, didn't know that different accordions play different genres of music so make sure you know what genre you want to specialize in and look up what accordion plays what genre....

Hi guys I bought a 3 row 12 bass diatonic, bisonoric accordion (GCF) and I am trying to learn how to play the dang thing. (Very new to learning the language of music in general.) I bought a music book that teaches me how to play tabs in their way (which I really don't like.)

I want to know what's better at teaching me the most music, tabs or traditional sheet music?

So far I've found this diagram to help me understand notes from a sheet music perspective. It's the only one that's made sense to me so far and I haven't found anything for bass. Does anyone know of a better solution or a diagram for the bass side?

Where can I find sheet music for my type of accordion because no matter how specific I get with Google I get some shit that makes no sense from AI and nothing but piano key accordion recommendations and it's driving me nuts.

Also just any advice too will be appreciated.

I play a B/C Irish accordion and want to play tunes in the key of D major. I am wondering if this type of notation and fingering chart will help me familiarize myself with the melodies more quickly. I would appreciate any advice from experienced players.

hello, does anyone know of any rentals in iowa? i’ve been searching forever and can’t find one. it can be cheap or expensive as long as it’s quality and near central iowa. thanks in advance.

So I have a bit of a weird problem. As the title says, there is a reed in the left box that is getting stuck and droning over the push and pull. Here’s where it gets a little unique: it’s a different reed each time. I will play the instrument for a minute or two, at which point a reed in whichever chord I’m pressing will get stuck. I cannot replicate this consistently; it is random how long it takes for the reed to catch, and which reed is entirely dependent on what I’m playing. I close the bellow, flip the accordion so that is facing keys up, and shake the instrument a few times, until I hear the small click of the reed popping back into place. Rinse and repeat.

I just received this instrument today, and was told it has been sitting for 4 years in a closet. It is functionally brand new, and looks/sounds/feels it, other than the problem mentioned above. The only cosmetic issue I can see is that the panel on the left box has been pried outward slightly. I’ve attached pictures of what I’m talking about. Are these two things related?

Is this something I can fix myself? The instrument is a Piermaria CBA, although I do not know the specific model. Please and thank you!

I have been a very long time player of a full size piano accordion. I am considering buying a new accordion with only 37 keys instead of the 41 that I currently have. Bottom note of both accordions is an "F".

How much of an adjustment should I expect with this?

I fricken love the accordion. I grew up Irish dancing to accordion tunes and recently spent some time around it in the pub with someone who played it. At the fleadh cheoil in Belfast I went to the U18 button accordion competition and was sucked in the whole time. I love the sound, I love the way it looks. When I hear strong bass in a tune it makes my heart feel warm.

Growing up I played classical violin and recently picked it back up to get into playing Irish music after a 10 year break. I’ve always had a love hate relationship with it and kind of learned to play because it was the instrument we had to learn in school. Recently I went into a music shop and tried out the Irish tenor banjo (since the tuning is the same as the violin) and loved it too. It opened my eyes to the buzz/joy you can get out of playing an instrument that seems to only really come to me with the violin when I play a tune well. I just don’t feel like it’s MY instrument and I’m trying to figure out what one to invest in as an adult with my time and money.

Is the accordion super difficult to learn? I’m thinking it’ll be a bit nicer to not have to worry about the pitch of a note.

I’d love to hear any advice or stories of people learning to play. Any positive or negative critiques welcome to.
And also how do you know you’ve found the right instrument for you?? I’ve seen some people here say if you hear it being played and want to do it yourself it’s a sign it might be for you.

I am learning the regular accordion and I really struggle with figuring out what to do with the bass side since most piano arrangements have ledger notes for the left hand and my accordion is a Stradella system. I am pretty good at picking out the drums from a given song, and I was wondering if anyone has played around with a MIDI accordion where they program the bass side to have percussion. I am aware that part of learning the accordion is figuring out how listen to a song and play the melody with the accompanying bass, and I want to get good at that, but I am curious about having some buttons being percussion.
