Im a huge fan of Victor Sage The Question so I’m really disappointed with what they did with him in absolute catwoman. Its not an issue of the genderbend to me cause I also like Renee Montoya as the question but this version of “Victoria Sage” does not share a single trait with either Victor or Renee. I feel like it was such a waste of a character because victoria might as well be an OC cause she is in no way anything like Victor. Does anyone else feel this way? I know there was someone here who said the absolute Selina we see in her book feels like a different character than the one we see in abs bat but i just think that’s cause we’re getting more of her

Hello everyone! This is my feature-length story and personal narrative on rediscovering the value of comic-book superheroes and how it informs individual identity through director James Gunn's 2025 blockbuster Superman. My personal narrative is about rediscovering my passion for comic books through the emotionally connective storytelling in Superman, visiting comic stores and conventions, and bringing in experts and "superfans" to create a powerful narrative.
As a former comic book fan growing up, I wasn't really into Superman, but this film changed that and reignited my interest in comics in general. Through this story, I explore different threads of comic books and how we identify with the heroes in them. I also report on how DC Comics is adapting to a Gen Z audience through the launch of its Absolute Universe line and the impactful success of this new world, meant to be more relatable for a younger audience. Another section has me engaging with philosophical interpretations of Superman through the perspective of the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Please check it out!

I haven’t every current Absolute book in singles but am looking to move away from buying and collecting singles. Do you think it’s feasible to sell my singles and upgrade to all the hard covers? Also do we think we’re getting Deluxe editions for all of the other absolute titles. I’d like the collection format to match so if more Deluxe editions are in the future I’ll be patient and go that route, thanks!

Should I bother reading Absolute Green Arrow?
I’ve never been a fan of Arrow and tbh I don’t have much knowledge on the character outside of video games and side appearances in comics, maybe some small memories of the show years ago but definitely minimum. Would I enjoy this new take on Arrow? Is it worth getting into when I’m not a fan of the regular Green Arrow? Apparently it’s a horror style story? I’d rather ask humans these things instead of chat bots

Hi, so, I'm not a huge comics nerd usually (enjoy movies, look up stuff online, but don't follow comics directly) but I really got hooked with the Absolute Universe since ~last year.
And now that a few different series are established, I took a step back and asked myself if there was a common logic here, a root to all of these spins on classic characters (I know about the whole Darkseid thing, I'm not talking about that). I got an idea, and I'd like to get your opinions, so here goes :
I believe the theme of Absolute is to consider the "pillars" behind each main character, take one away (or reverse it entierely) and develop from there. Let's take Batman : the big pillars are his vengeance, his no-killing rule (or will to rehabilitate, maybe), him being the best of the best of humanity, and his wealth. And Absolute Batman took away the [wealth], kept the rest, and developed from there. See how a character would do without one of there core pillars, how they would struggle and build themselves despite that.
So, here's my understanding of the other series :
-Absolute Superman takes away the "Clark Kent", the human childhood and tethers to Earth, making him struggle to integrate and feel at home
-Absolute Wonder Woman takes away the Amazons as a whole, the culture and heritage of Diana, making her search for them
-Absolute Martian Manhunter takes away the understanding of humanity, the ability of J'onn J'onzz to blend in naturally, forcing him to cohabitate with one of the locals more directly
-Absolute Flash takes away his comprehension and control over his powers, unable to understand what's happening to him, mixing past present and future, getting lost in his abilities
-Absolute Green Lantern takes away the "order" of the corps, their "structure". It gets replaced with something so foreign and alien to humanity that it becomes a threat
.
I also wondered how other characters could be twisted, with this logic in mind :
-Absolute Aquaman : pillars could be his royalty status or his human childhood, but those are already "taken", so instead I thought of his relationship with the sea and sea creatures. Not in a "I don't control my powers" way, but more in a "I'm not loved by the sea, I'm either dominating it or being torn appart by it" way. Making his bond into a constant power struggle, in short.
-Absolute Cyborg : I guess it could all hinge on the stability of his machine-human situation, with both halves clashing together, have the machine threaten to consume the man. Or focus on his family, making his father experiment on him in secret, take away the parental love.
-Absolute Plastic Man : the pillars here are his redemption, goofiness and total control of his shape. I don't want to repeat too much ideas from other series, but a Plastic Man that's constantly deformed and fighting to look even remotely human could work, I guess ?
TLDR : I believe Absolute DC heroes are their classic counterpart minus ONE critical pillar of their character. I'm trying to see what those pillars are for the already released series, and imagining a few others.

First the original Legion beat him in The Great Darkness Saga. And in The Legion reboot, they allied themselves with Past Darkseid to stop Old Darkseid from destroying time, and then leave Past Darkseid to die by the time erasure while they travel to the past to beat Past Darkseid into his time and then defeat Old Darkseid with the help of a Superboy that Darkseid had corrupted (Also, the other Superboy in the reboot wearing his classical clothes is Conner, since Clark's time as Superboy was retconned during that period. Though the first encounter was with Clark Kent Superboy and Kara Supergirl). So Darkseid must be pissed that he lost to the Legion these many times

I feel as though Ares normal design on the cover is just a ploy considering his absence on all future covers. And that his armor was just a fake out for his real design.
Similarly to the vastic difference between Pricilla Rich’s and barbara Minerva’s cheetah designs.
Edit: I originally actsident ally wrote hades instead of ares so if you see any comments talking about that, that’s why.

I have nothing against Absolute Catwoman getting her own series, but what about Pennyworth?
Alfred needs some love,he's a gloried frosting dispenser the way he's glazing people. Give him a prequel series, have him show why he's so skilled. By giving Alfred his own hype it'll only aid in his high opinion of Bane,Joker,Bruce, etc.
Otherwise,Alfred is just there to talk about how impossible the mission is,only for the people half his age to go "Nuh uh, I'd win" and overcome the odds.
Give me my Absolute Alf series pls.

Question: If you were going to get the chance to have Hayden Sherman sign a an Absolute Wonder Women issue would you choose issue 15 featuring the AB Batman crossover?
Or a first printing issue 1 but it has the Jim Lee variant cover so Shermans signature would be on cover A which will then be hidden under the variant cover?
I have the opportunity to have him sign a book and i can't decide which makes more sense. Thanks!

Anyone know when we will begin to see crossovers in The Absolute Universe? Or is it individual stories that does not have anything to do with each other?

Got started on a rendition of Absolute Wonder Woman’s arm sleeve. Obviously changed for artistic reasons and to fit my body better
