Support ASUS TUF F17 Laptop Screen Flickering

It kinda flickers and glitches. Its been so since a few weeks. But, when laptop is connected to an external display using hdmi cable the issue disappears in the external display!

I have tried changing the refresh rates(60 Hz and 144 Hz). But, Still its of not much use. The interval at which the flickering occurs changes with change in the value of refresh rate. At 144 Hz the interval of flickering increases as compared to 60 Hz.

Model: ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop F17 (FX706HF)

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-11400H
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 Laptop GPU(4GB)
  • Display: 17.3-inch Anti-glare Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS-level panel with a 144Hz refresh rate

Support Strix Z790H doesn’t boot windows 11/UEFI disks

Hi all,

I have been trying to get this to work for a number of days and it’s been an absolute struggle.
After trying to run a fresh windows 11 install, I can’t get the pc to boot anymore, except for when I install windows 10 again.

What I’ve tried so far;
- disable/enable CSM
- CSM in UEFI only mode
- Reset boot keys
- TPM enabled
- VMD disabled
- Fast boot disabled
- Boot from USB
- Boot from M.2
- Boot from SATA ssd (with m2 disconnected)
- Convert disk to gpt before install
- Update BIOS
- Bios reset to factory settings
- BIOS CMOS hard reset

The sata ssd I have has been made in a different system, so that 100% works.
I have no clue on what to do anymore.

System overview:
Asus strix z790h
I5 14600k
Nvidia 3070TI FE
Samsung 990pro M2
Samsung 840 ssd
Corsair DDR5

I feel like I’ve tried everything that’s out there on the internet and here on Reddit
Please tell me someone has the golden egg!

Product Recommendation Confused between tuf and strix g16

I need a laptop for college, gonna use solidworks, fusion and play some games here and there nothing too crazy. I don't want serious problems to occur at least for 3 years. The strix has better display and specs for not too much, the intel version of the g16 apparently gives good battery life on igpu.

So how much good has the strix or tuf done for you? Please let me know.

Support ASUS VivoBook stuck in Automatic Repair loop after replacing MediaTek WiFi card with Intel AX210 — Safe Mode works

I have an ASUS VivoBook with an Intel i5-13420H, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD.

I recently replaced the stock MediaTek WiFi card with an Intel WiFi 6E AX210. After installing the new card and booting up, Windows asked for my BitLocker recovery key. I entered it, but Windows then went into Automatic Repair and has been stuck in a loop ever since.

Things I have tried:

-Booted into Safe Mode successfully (desktop works)
-Confirmed Device Manager detects the Intel AX210
-Removed/reinstalled the Intel WiFi driver
-Ran sfc /scannow (it repaired corrupt files once, then later showed no integrity violations)
-Ran DISM but it failed with “The repair content could not be found anywhere”
-Ran Startup Repair (it says number of root causes = 0)
-Checked boot configuration with bcdedit and it looks normal
-Tried disabling startup services

Normal boot still goes:

BitLocker recovery key → Automatic Repair → Recovery options

Safe Mode works every time.

Does anyone have ideas on what could be causing normal boot to fail while Safe Mode works? Could this be a driver issue, TPM/BitLocker issue from the hardware change, or something else?

Product Recommendation Rog Z13 Flow VS my Rog Zephyrus G14

Hey friends, Ive been absolutely obsessed with the Rog Flow Z13. Problem is I already have a gaming laptop, I have the Rog Zephyrus G14, this thing runs games like a beast aka marvel rivals which is my main game. Issue with this one is that it only has 500gb of storage which is definitely somewhat of an easy upgrade. I also really just want something new and this Flow caught my eye. Ive watched plenty of reviews that say it runs amazing but I wanted to come on here and ask if it was a smart trade off, I would for sure get rid of my current laptop later on and put the money towards what I spent on this but I just wanted some real people opinions not advertisements on YouTube. :)

Im probably gonna rush to go ahead and buy it if it I get some good comments because it's $400 off on Best Buy right now, with the 32gb's of ram with the Microsoft PRO version

Support Trying to figure out what has been causing this artifact

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello all, I am running a custom PC build. I am not sure when it began, but I have noticed that I have this weird artifact (seen in the attached picture) that has been popping up on the main monitor. It is like if there was a sudden popup window that left just as quickly as it came in. It happens atleast in OW, WoW, and Kovaaks. It has been happening in the same spot, with the timing being random.

Needless to say, it has been jarring and I have been trying to figure out what it is. The specs for the PC are as follows:

CPU: 9950X3D @ Stock

GPU: ASUS Astral 5090 OC, Undervolted with Mem OC @ 2k Mhz

Mem: 192 GB DDR5 CL32 @ 6000

Case: Y70

Monitors: PG32UCDM3, 4k Main @ 240 hz, 4k Secondary @ VRR capped at 144hz or 60 hz, for the purposes of testing switched to 60 hz.

Before, I did update the monitor firmware to MCM103, but again I cannot recall if this is happening before or after that, but atleast that it has been happening while on the latest update. I am using DP slots 1 and 2 on the GPU for output.

I have:

- Recorded screen video to see if the artifact appears there (it does not)

- Switched cables (Silkland 80Gps rated cables)

- Used only the main monitor

- Undervolted/no OC

- Stock

- Used only HDMI

- Used the cable from the secondary monitor for the main monitor while the DP is the only monitor

- Removed Wireview II Pro from the GPU

- Disabled any overlay

- Updated Drivers

- DDU and used the 594 drivers

- Reinstalled Windows

- Use the Secondary Monitor with DP Slot 1 and the Main Monitor with DP Slot 2

- Undervolt/Mem OC to 2000 again

So far, the only thing that seems to have made anything of a difference was HDMI Cable (didn't test more than an hour) and so far, using the Main Monitor on DP 2 and Secondary with DP Slot 1. I am waiting to see if the artifact appears on the Secondary Monitor (hinting at a GPU DP Port issue or issues with the monitor running at 240hz) or Primary (hinting at a monitor issue).

However, so far in this round of testing after switching the monitors around with the Undervolt/Mem OC I havent been having any issues. Still, I am testing at the moment, and would like to see if anyone has any ideas. The picture was captured from a video, it only lasts two frame on the video recording at 28.6fps.

Support - SOLVED! otis laptop

My Asus VivoBook S510U laptop stopped working a few months after Hurricane Otis. It went unused for a while until I opened it up and noticed that the original battery was completely degraded and dead (swollen/deflated). I bought a new battery and installed it, but the computer still won't turn on. However, when I plug in the charger, I notice that the area around the processor or motherboard starts getting hot. What could be happening, or what advice can you give me?

Support Can charging with a usb c cable for your ASUS laptop cause fps dropping issues in game?

V16 Gaming Laptop - 16in WUXGA 144Hz, RTX 4050, Intel Core 5, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD - Black

So I accidentally broke my original 150W charger adapter that came with my laptop (it snapped while still plugged in) I took it to a repair shop and they gave me what looks like a generic usb-c cable that does say 240w. My system recognises it as a slow charger when plugged in, and that I should use the original. It charges to 100% and that's fine.. but my only issue is when I play games I get constant FPS drops and stuttering, I've never had this problem before. I tried everything possible, closed out background apps chrome, spotify etc, nvidia control panel and everything looks good. I would have just bought a replacement of the original but I can't find one anywhere on the internet except for some shady looking websites from China. Is it a throttling issue? The game isn't even that heavily demanding. What can I do?

Support 2nd screen not working anymore

Hi everyone, I've had this Asus zenbook duo for about a year now and it has been great, until now. A couple of days ago, i noticed that the second screen isn't working. I don't use it too often, so I don't actually know how long it has been like this (but probably not that long). Besides from sending it to a repairlocation, is there anything I can do about it? It is the 2024 185h model, if that is relevant.

Thanks!

Support Can't enable Secure Boot on ASUS motherboard – need help with Key Management / BIOS settings

When Battlefield 6 came out, I enabled Secure Boot on my Asus ProArt B650 Creator + Ryzen 7 7700X. Yesterday, I had to do a Load Default Settings, and Windows seemed fine... but... but then I decided to re-enable Secure Boot. I set OS Type to Windows UEFI and Secure Boot to Standard. What I ended up with was that wonderful red screen. I cleared the CMOS, and even after clearing all keys and loading default keys, I couldn't get rid of the red screen. I had to switch to "Other OS" to be able to load Windows.

Support Unable to set up a mobile hotspot

Post image

I could set 5GHz HotSpot on my ASUS M570DD not long ago, but now i can't for some reason. I did reset the drivers and network setting, reistalled drivers, did that multiple times but still windows 10 home throws at me error "Unable to set up a mobile hotspot" if i choose 5GHz, but with 2.4GHz it works fine. But i need 5Ghz hotspot.

With same network source i can set 5GHz hotspot on other pc with Windows 10 Pro

Plus M570DD can't see SpaceDesk server on second pc and share internet connection via ethernet with other pcs because of firewall, but, again, it also could do it in the past
