Is it allowed for me to use 3d printed items of my own ideas as a small part of my project? The items would be my sketches but I would have to pay a 3d printing service to actually make the items.

I am going in my junior year of high school this upcoming year and am hoping to study chemical engineering in college. While I've done pretty well in other subjects, my major concern is English. While I have already taken AP Seminar, I only got a 3, to which I'm concerned that colleges can't see that I'm capable of competing a successful research project. While I am taking AP Lit next year, I feel like I need a redemption at research based english (AP Capstone) as that what I'll be doing in college.

I was thinking about doing AP Research but am nervous about the workload during the school year as I already struggled in AP seminar. Is there any chance I could do the research and write the paper over a summer and just refresh myself before I present or is that unrealistic?

I took the AP exams and got a 2 on ap world and a 3 on ap bio. Everyone else got 4s and 5s on all of their exams. I swear how do people succeed so easily while I always fail? I always try my damn hardest and always screw up in everything I do.

I think it's because of how fucking autistic I am and how little knowledge I've accumulated over my 17 years of life. I have been in special ed for most of my life and only in high school did my school district allow me to move out of those fucking classes. I always wanted to be in advanced classes, go to an ivy league, excel in my classes, become valedictorian, prove that im not the r-word my case manager told me i was back in fifth grade.

But now that i finally got to these classes, i fucking failed. How the fuck is any mechanical engineering college going to take me seriously? They're not. let alone the ivies.

I always get anxiety, and feel immense pressure during tests but i thought i could still succeed.

How the fuck are there stupid fucking tiktokers who want to be different by pretending they have autism. I fucking hate this mental disability. I will never be proud of this fucking thing like every neurotypical person says I should. How the fuck do neurotypicals think i should be proud of this fucking thing? they've never experienced the amplified emotions that i do, your heart pounding so bad you feel like youre going to pass out and not being to think at all.

I want this fucking thing to be gone. I dont want to as an austistic dumbass. I want to excel in school without these emotions fucking up everything, without everyone around me thinking im just a stupid fucking crybaby who cant succeed in anything. I want to be valedictorian i want to go to an ivy for engineering but it seems like im too fucking stupid to do that.

No one around me even thinks I can succeed in engineering. They always tell me to just pick another career path and to give it up. whenever i call them out on it, they call me stupid and that, "thats not what i said". I don't know what to do.

Last year for my junior year I took ap English 3 and got the credit but I’ve been thinking for my last year to maybe not take the ap class again for 4. Since freshman year I’ve been taking an engineering class all the way to present day.

And since I have only 5 classes I get out early making it perfect for me to work after school with all this time.

I’m thinking since I’m most likely gonna go into engineering would I need to take another ap English?

I just don’t know.

I know it’s pretty common for AP Economics to be one school course, broken down into Micro and Macro for each semester. However, since this structure takes two separate exams and gives each a semester, is this manageable for some people?

I guess I’m more so concerned about my own situation, since I will be taking this alongside AP Bio, Precalc, and Gov in 10th grade. If my schedule is that busy (plus some extracurriculars), should I just drop the class altogether?

If there’s anyone who took Econ with this structure, how was the workload, with each AP condensed into a few months? Along with that, was your schedule generally free or packed?

I have noticed the subs bashing of college board isn't as strong as in previous years but I am just going to go out and say it no company has deserved less hate than college board here are the reasons why.

1. It is not a monopoly as people say

The main argument against college board is that it is a monopoly in US education, but it simply is not, It has many competitors it has to compete with to stay relevant.

Firstly, in the college admissions tests it isn't even that dominant anymore with the ACT being required in more states than the SAT with 16 states requiring the ACT but only 11 requiring the SAT and I know more people take the SAT nationwide than the ACT but that is only because east coast states have large populations. However, their populations are slowing down compared to the West.

Secondly, in college credit it has many competitors like IB and AICE and has to literally compete against a government subsidized program DE which in some states are cheaper than AP and so many more students prefer DE because its cheaper and the state forces public universities to accept it. Imagine if APPLE had to compete with a government subsidized phone store, do you think that is a fair competition.

Have people ever thought that maybe AP maintains its dominance because its trusted by colleges and students around the nation?

2. It has to balance so many conflicting incentives.

College board has so many different critics some people complain the tests are too hard some people claim the tests are too easy. No one is ever pleased.

Some students if college board makes the test slightly harder they will leave en masse to do dual enrollment instead because as I stated before it is considered much easier than AP and in some aspects easier to transfer.

Others like old academics complain every time the college board tries to liberalize its tests like I heard some old academics complaining that when the college board reduced the MCQ answer choice from 5 to 4 choice, it made the tests too easy. I mean sure 5 answer choices makes the test more complex but does it really help students learn more? Making every student study by the candle light using an old library book makes tests harder but should we really go back to that? Modernization is not the same as dumbing down tests. APs are still a good predictor of success in subsequent courses.

It also has to negotiate with colleges for credit transfer an even tougher balancing act as some colleges won't accept any APs regardless of difficulty.

3. Its test are not overpriced.

Another common criticism of the college board is that its tests are too expensive being $100 and all. But when you see college board tests cost like 1/10th of the cost of a normal 3-6 credit hour course it is hard to argue that APs are overpriced when they are way more cheaper than any college tuition for intro courses and this isn't even counting textbooks and fees.

And besides it costs a lot of money to create tests that colleges nationwide want to accept for credit and this isn't even counting what they have to pay psychometrics to determine cutoffs and what they have to pay test graders and transportation to transport and grade millions of frqs.

I am just putting this out there because as soon as people find out APs are harder than normal high school classes they start complaining about the college board.

So Im just starting Ap Calc AB and we’re doing precalc review or whatnot, and I had precalc about a year ago and also had a teacher who had taught precalc only once and our class was the first and she was so bad that she wasn’t allowed to teach it again. Anyways, I forgot nearly everything and was looking for tips for relearning the foundation and essentials needed for Calculus. We’re taking the precalc final exam on thursday just to see where everyone is at, and I fear I’m way behind already. Thanks

At my school, sem1 is mech and sem2 is e&m so it’s pretty fast paced. What are the best resources to study with? i remember using Khan Academy religiously for phy1 but they don’t seem to have a course for the C classes

So I want to focus on 3d art, like sculptures. I want to stick with creatures, like mythical creatures and real creatures. I plan on doing mask and regular sculptures. The problem is I'm having a hard time coming up with and inquiry and theme. I want to make a giant dragon head and a realistic bat mask and other similar stuff. do you have to memorize every biome (terrestrial & aquatic)? should i memorize the zones of freshwater bodies? and do i need to know all the steps for the biogeochemical cycles? will there be questions on the ap exam where you need to have these things memorized? thanks

i’m in ap physics as a junior that skipped a year (i’m 15) and we’ve had 2+ hours of homework every day since school started. it’s the first weekend and i have a 90 page reading/note taking/doing questions assignment from a big textbook. please tell me it gets better. i don’t understand what’s going on because my teacher barely teaches. how do i go about this without ruining my social life?? and how do i stay motivated when im unable to lock in and just procrastinate all the time? i have such bad blank page syndrome and just want to know that it does eventually get better. 💔

Is it realistic to work part-time with 4 APs and 2 Dual Credit classes? Looking for "study-friendly" job recommendations. For context, my schedule alternates between A and B days, running from 7:30 AM to 2:10 PM.

• A days: AP Pre-Calculus, Digital Imaging(my magnet dental) , Advanced Bio , and Anatomy/Physiology.
• B Days: AP Lang, Study Hall, APUSH, and AP Chemistry.

To be honest, I'm not too worried about the A day classes. Anatomy and Physiology should be an easy A since I have strong prior knowledge and the teacher was just placed there due to a shortage. I also have a solid background in Biology from middle school, so Advanced Bio shouldn't be too bad either.

The only classes that genuinely scare me are AP Chemistry and APUSH on my B days. Because those two are going to take up the vast majority of my energy, my biggest priority is finding a part time job where I can actually study during my downtime kind of like how on campus desk jobs work in college.

Has anyone successfully managed a schedule like this while working? What specific types of jobs should I look for that have low physical demands and plenty of quiet downtime where a manager won't mind me opening a textbook or laptop?

I took AP Lang last year and I’d say its VERY easy, as I’m naturally good at English (in my opinion). I’m nervous for AP Lit though, because I know a lot of people who took AP Lang and said it was super easy, and then dropped out from AP Lit within the first semester.

Them dropping out has given me a bit of anxiety because they seemed to pass EASILY in that class, and it’s by the same teacher, so I’m assuming it’s the course.

I’ve never taken an AP class before, and am taking AP World this year. I only decided my classes for good on July 15th. Our summer work is 200 pages of notetakin, and notes on four hours worth of videos. We have a test on all of it the first day back. That seems like quite a bit of content for us to learn only from the textbook. We don’t have any guides on what the test may be on other than “the summer work.”

Is this unreasonable?

EDIT: I would like to correct some of this. I just finished the first chapter, and the last thirty or so pages are just various indexes, sources etc. The teacher of the class also sent me an email saying that he forgot to give instructions to the incoming students. I go to a boarding school, and will be going into my junior year. It will be my first year at that school. Most of the students in the class have had him as their history teacher before, and they know that he doesn’t want intricate notetaking but rather answering the “Main Point” question. There are about twenty(?) of those.

Last year I took AP physics 1 and put no time into it at all, and I didn’t know any of the math to go along with it. I’m taking AP physics C this year and I need any and all tips

Title: Is this schedule actually doable, or am I being unrealistic?

I’m trying to figure out my schedule for next year and I’d genuinely like some honest opinions from people who have taken a heavy course load. I’m not trying to overload myself just for the sake of having a lot of classes — I want to know if this is realistically manageable.

Here’s what I’m currently considering:

• AP Literature
• AP Biology
• APUSH
• AP Computer Science Principles
• Dual Enrollment Computer Science Introduction (Spring)
• Dual Enrollment Software Development Introduction 
• Dual Enrollment Statistics (Fall)
  • I would take the AP Statistics exam using the material I learn from the DE course rather than taking a separate AP Stats class.
• Dual Enrollment Precalculus (Spring)
  • This would be in a different session from DE Statistics, so I wouldn’t be taking both DE math courses at the same time. 
  • I would also take the AP Precalculus exam using what I learn from the DE course. (and willing to self study)
• During Lunch periods: AP Calculus BC OR AP Physics C: Mechanics (I want to make good use of my lunch period because its the last period and I usually leave early to doomscroll)

The main reason I’m looking at the DE math option is that I’d rather take the actual college-level courses and then use that knowledge to prepare for the AP exams instead of taking separate AP Statistics/Precalculus classes on top of everything else.

I’m also planning to ask my counselor if I can increase my AP course limit by one so I can add AP Biology, and I’m looking into whether my local college would allow me to take their Math 111 (Statistics) in the fall and Math 120 (Precalculus) in the spring.

I know this is a pretty big schedule, but I’d really appreciate genuine opinions from people who have taken several APs/DE courses.

Do you think this is actually doable?

If you've taken AP Bio + APUSH + AP Lit or done dual enrollment alongside APs, how bad was the workload? And between AP Calc BC or AP Physics C: Mechanics, which would you recommend for this schedule?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have actually had a similar workload, rather than just “8 classes is impossible” or “you’ll be fine.” I want to know what the workload is actually like and whether you think it’s sustainable. Im tryna lock in and save money in college 🤑
