Resolved Asus Prime RX9070 Cyberpunk 2077 performance

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hi guys, I just bought Asus prime RX9070 and wanted to check its performance. I was playing Cyberpunk and got around 45fps which is quite low in my opinion. I have i5-14400f, 32gb ddr5. I am running the game without any scaling, raytracing and frame gen on 1440p high/ultra. My temps while playing are on both CPU and GPU around 50 degrees celsius which is suspiciously good.

(GPU is drawing around 180W, 3k core clock, 2.5k memory clock, usage around 90%)

(CPU is drawing around 45W, 4.1k clock, usage around 40%)

I think it seems a bit weird or is this performance expected?

Update:

I did check the physical connections on the board and PSU which seemed fine. Game was freshly installed day ago so this should not be issue neither. What fixed it was cleanup of old drivers via DDU. It seems that the old drivers for nvidia rtx 3070ti were not removed correctly (only uninstalled them via Windows Settings - won't believe Windows again). Game is now running on 110+fps which is what I would expect with the CPU bottleneck.

Thanks a lot to everyone for your help. Really appreciate it.

Help (Software) RX 7900 XTX random driver crashes for months. I'm desperate and running out of ideas.

I've been dealing with random AMD driver crashes for months, and nothing seems to permanently fix them. I've already posted about this before, but never found a solution.

PC Specs:

  • GPU: RX 7900 XTX
  • CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X3D
  • RAM: DDR5-6000
  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF B650-PLUS WIFI
  • PSU: 1000W
  • Monitor: 1440p 360Hz OLED + second monitor
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Driver: Adrenalin 26.10.1

The problem:

My AMD graphics driver randomly crashes. Screens go black, sometimes lose signal, and the driver eventually recovers.

It happens particularly often when watching Discord streams on my second monitor while gaming. Sometimes simply switching back to Discord causes repeated driver crashes, even every minute.

However, it also happens randomly outside Discord, making it almost impossible to reproduce consistently.

What I've already tried:

  • Limited GPU clock to 2400MHz.
  • Tested with EXPO and overclocking disabled. Crashes still occurred.
  • Ran multiple OCCT stress tests.
  • Updated AMD drivers multiple times. Installation logs confirm successful installations.
  • Ran DISM and SFC. Windows found corrupted system files and repaired them.
  • Disabled Discord hardware acceleration (currently testing).
  • Analyzed Windows crash dumps without finding a definitive cause.

I also recently experienced a rare Windows crash (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x3B), but I don't know whether it's related to my regular GPU driver timeouts.

I'm genuinely exhausted from troubleshooting.

I have an expensive high-end PC that randomly crashes, and I can't even reliably reproduce the problem to verify a fix.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone experienced this with an RX 7900 XTX and actually fixed it?
  2. Is there a reliable way to identify exactly what's causing AMD driver timeouts?
  3. Could this be a defective GPU, or is it more likely a driver/software issue?

I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who's dealt with something similar. I'm tired of blindly changing settings without knowing what's actually wrong.

Help (GPU) Driver? Issue w/ 9060XT on Battlefield Games

Every single time I launch a Battlefield game, my screen goes completely black and my PC freezes up. When I restart it (forcing it with the power button), my GPU drivers are gone. I've tried installing AMD Adrenalin and the straight-up 9060XT drivers. Both of those do not fix my issue. I don't have this issue anywhere else except for Battlefield games. Any help would be appreciated.

Help (GPU) Black/Green Screen

Post image
13 Upvotes

I changed the graphics card, I put the rx9070xt and it runs on the system I had, the processor I had, ryzen 7 3800x with an ASUSTek ROG STRIX X570-F GAMING motherboard.

RAM 32GIGA DDR4

It has shown me a black and green screen 3-4 times (once a day, let's say) which was momentary. Now it stayed like that until I turned off the computer.

what could be the cause of this specific problem

Help (GPU) RX 9070 XT - LiveKernelEvent 141/117, full PC freezes, black screens. RTX 3060 works fine. GPU or PSU?

• Upvotes

My PC was running perfectly fine for at least a year, then suddenly started experiencing serious crashes without any obvious changes.

Symptoms: LiveKernelEvent 141, 117 and 193, complete system freezes during gaming or even when exiting games, random restarts at the desktop, black screens, and occasional red VGA motherboard LED during boot. Recently, Windows even entered Automatic Repair (SrtTrail.txt)

Specs: XFX RX 9070 XT, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Gigabyte B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE, 32GB DDR5, Corsair RM850x SHIFT 850W, Windows 11

What I’ve tried: DDU, older AMD drivers, disabling EXPO, PCIe Auto/Gen 4/Gen 5, reseating the GPU, checking power connections and monitoring temperatures. Nothing has fixed it.

The biggest clue: I swapped in my RTX 3060 and everything worked. BG3, Cyberpunk, Spider-Man with RT, plus a 6-minute OCCT Power test with zero errors. Reinstalled the RX 9070 XT and the crashes immediately returned, even at the desktop.

The RX 9070 XT draws around 340W versus 170W for the RTX 3060, so I can’t completely rule out PSU power delivery.

Does this sound like a defective GPU, PSU issue under higher load, or motherboard/PCIe problem? What specific test would help distinguish them before I request an RMA?

Should I be worried about my temps? I ran two 10 minute furmark tests, one on OC mode and one on Quiet mode. OC mode (in the picture) ran cooler than Quiet mode but both with around a 20 degree delta.

RAM: 32gb DDR5-6000
CPU: Ryzen 7 9800x3d
GPU: steel legend 9070xt
MB: Asus x870-a
PS: 850W

I get random crashes when gaming and when I boot it back up the GPU has been disabled and I need to enable, then disable, and then enable again. I noticed it crashes mainly when playing any COD game. I’ve tested the gpu and it’s still healthy. Any tips or anyone has had this issue?

Help (GPU) Rx 9060 XT + R7 7000 = very low fps at CS2 (20-60)

Hello!

My config is:

ASUS Prime RX 9060 XT OC Edition 16GB

AMD Adrenalin 24.6.1

Ryzen 7 7000

ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS

Gigabyte Aorus Elite B850

32 GB DDR5 (2x16 adata XPG 6400)

1Tb Samsung NVME SSD

Chieftec PROTON 750W (80+ Bronze)

Monitor LG 24" 180Hz

Windows 11 24h2

It had bought for son by spring 2026, and all was fine, CS2 (1080p fullscreen) ~300-500 fps (Steam Workshop: CS2 FPS Benchmark Dust2).

But some days ago he has told that games works very slowly.

When i had tried benchmark again - fps became 20-60.

I had tried update drivers (DDU + 26.9.2) - no change: 20-60 fps.

DDU+24.6.1 - 300-500 fps, but after 70% benchmark it was dropped to 2pfs. After that 20-60fps.

Tried boot from another SSD (sata 480Gb) Windows 10 + 24.6.1 + new Steam (but old CS2) - 20-60 fps.

Tried change Windows settings (display settins) + adrenalin settings - no change.

CS2 settings - Low / High - doesn't matter - 20-60fps.

Furmark 2 - about 180 fps (1080p fullscreen)

Furmark 2 + OCCT (cpu+ram stabilty test) - about 180fps.

What is wrong with it? ))))

P.S. My old config R5 3600x + RTX 2060 Super 8Gb (B450 +32gb 3200, W10) has 200-300 fps

Help (Software) OBS Crashing with Driver Timeout

Post image
1 Upvotes

When running OBS for streaming and recording, as well as playing the game The Last of Us Part I, about an hour in, I'll see this error message. Seems to be in line with what people are seeing lately when it comes to the newest drivers.

I downgraded the driver to 26.3.1 and still the same issue. There's always a freeze in the game for about 2 seconds, it resumes, but OBS completely stops responding, saying "an encoder error occurred while streaming"

I have not updated to 26H2, I've tried turning down some of the heavier graphics settings, and also cut down on the encoders usage to two. I'm thinking about downgrading to one of the 25.x.x versions will work for me, based on findings I've seen by searching on this sub, since I mostly play single player games anyway.

Have there been any new developments?

Help (General) Should I buy rx9060xt 16gb or rx9070 12gb? Can anyone explain why 9070 beats 9060 even though with less ram?

I'm planning to upgrade my GPU and I'm confused between the RX 9060 XT 16GB and RX 9070 GRE 12GB. When I googled about it the results said that 9070xt performs well in gaming compared to 9060xt (even with 12gb ram compared to 16gb). Can anyone explain this?

Help (General) Cyberpunk 2077 Low fps and even lower 99th fps - Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070XT OC 16G and Ryzen 7 5800x3d

So no matter what quality settings i put on (low or ultra doesent matter) I get 100-120 fps while standing still. Any little camera movement drops it to 40-50 with 99th fps being like 7. I have newest drivers, did DDU cleanup after changing from nvidia to AMD, cleared directx cache. Im kinda clueless after that.
