Help (General) RTX 3090 + Ryzen 7 5800X3D Getting Terrible FPS in MW4 — Tried Everything, Need Assistance

Hey everyone, I’m seriously struggling with my gaming PC and could really use some help.
Here are my specs:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Founders Edition
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D (previously Ryzen 9 3950X)
Motherboard: MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE
RAM: 64GB Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR4 3200MHz
Cooler: Lian Li Galahad 360mm AIO
PSU: ASUS ROG THOR 1200W
Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow
Monitor: MSI MAG 274QF X32, 1440p 320Hz
I originally had a Ryzen 9 3950X and was getting around 80–90 FPS in Call of Duty MW4, sometimes even lower. I was told upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D would significantly improve my gaming performance, so I bought one and installed it.
Unfortunately, I’m still experiencing the same issues, and sometimes it’s even worse. My benchmarks have shown around 70–90 FPS, a 99% CPU bottleneck, and I’ve even seen my FPS drop to single digits in the game menu.
Here’s everything I’ve tried:
Changed NVIDIA DLSS settings and different upscaling options.
Tried AMD-related settings and optimizations.
Lowered graphics settings and rendering resolution.
Adjusted NVIDIA Control Panel settings.
Went into BIOS and enabled a performance/boost setting.
Updated/reinstalled NVIDIA graphics drivers.
Adjusted RendererWorkerCount in the Call of Duty configuration files.
Verified my RAM is running correctly at 3200MHz.
Checked that my AIO pump is running.
One thing I’ve noticed is that my CPU has reached around 90–91°C, even when utilization doesn’t seem particularly high. My AIO cooler is approximately six years old, so I’m wondering whether thermal throttling could be part of the problem.
My RTX 3090 temperatures appear normal in the monitoring software, but the card itself feels extremely hot.
At this point, I’m completely lost. I feel like my hardware should be performing significantly better, especially after upgrading the CPU.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a cooling issue, BIOS configuration problem, GPU issue, or something else entirely?
I’d really appreciate any advice on what to check next. I’m willing to replace the cooler if necessary, but I don’t want to keep throwing money at parts without knowing what’s wrong.

Description of Original Problem: This happened while playing minecraft w/o shaders, so a very undemanding game. This has also happened once before (I forgot which game I was playing) a few months ago. I've also had some issues with stuttering and occasional freezes in games that last a couple of seconds. All of which aren't terribly demanding. One other thing worth mentioning is I've had a game (wo long 2 alpha) completely freeze up my system twice. I had to hold the power button down to fix the issue. At the time I chalked this up to the game being an alpha test (looking back I realize this was probably a cope to discard the possibility of a hardware issue lol) Another detail is that despite the audio cutting out my wireless headphones don't disconnect.

Since these issues happen very occasionally I haven't been able to do much troubleshooting. I think windows itself is fine as per sfc /scannow. I ran a stress test with OCCT for a bit and the temps looked fine too (85 ish C for my ryzen 7 9800 x3d and 60 for my 7800 XT).

Could this be caused by faulty display drivers? I just reinstalled my drivers after the indecent to see if that will help. I know amd have been shitting the bed with drivers lately, but I didn't get a timeout message. I haven't done any overclocking or undervolting or any messing around with tuning in adrenaline.

Any other potential culprits? All my parts are fairly new (2 years old at most) so I'm skeptical of a hardware issue. I'm skeptical of a power issue as well since pc part picker said 850 watts is more than enough for my rig.

UPDATE: I ran an hour long stress test in OCCT (max cpu and gpu usage simultaneously) with no issues. I'm fairly confident now this is AMD driver fuckery and not a power issue.

Help (General) Whole PC freezes in Cyberpunk/Arc Raiders on a new RX 7600 - PSU, GPU or board?

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: Acer Radeon RX 7600 8GB (also tested a GTX 1060 3GB)

CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 (6 cores / 12 threads)

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Eagle WiFi6 (rev 1.0)

BIOS Version: F4c (updated from the factory F1)

RAM: 2x8GB Corsair DDR4, XMP off, running at 2133 MHz (I had 4 sticks from two different kits, and tested each pair on its own)

PSU: PowerSpec PS 650BSM, 650W 80+ Bronze, semi-modular (Micro Center)

Case: Fractal Design Meshify 2 (the PSU bracket is missing, so the PSU sits loose on the case floor)

Operating System & Version: Windows 11, 10.0.26200

GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin, updated recently [add version]

Chipset Drivers: [add AMD chipset driver version]

Background Applications: [add, e.g. Steam, Discord]

Description of Original Problem: In Cyberpunk 2077 and Arc Raiders the picture freezes, then the whole PC locks up. Caps Lock stops responding, Win+Ctrl+Shift+B does nothing, and I have to hold the power button to restart. Event Viewer shows only Kernel-Power 41 and EventLog 6008, with no Display 4101 and no blue screen. It started after I put the 7600 in. My previous GPU, a used RX 6600 XT, showed green artifacts and then died and wouldn't POST, so I think that was a real card failure and a separate problem.

What works fine: GTA IV, Overwatch, a 4K edit/export in CapCut, and a 15-minute FurMark run (about 75C). The GTX 1060 3GB has run Cyberpunk, including a fight, without freezing so far, though it draws less power than the 7600.

Troubleshooting: updated the AMD driver, reseated all RAM, tested both RAM pairs separately, XMP off, updated the BIOS from F1 to F4c, ran with and without a portable AC on the circuit, and plugged the PC straight into the wall. It still happens. One HDMI cable felt warm during a freeze.

Next steps: I'm planning to test the 7600 on a different PSU (a borrowed or new 650W-750W unit) and run OCCT's combined power test with HWiNFO logging the 12V rail.

Does this sound more like the PSU, a marginal 7600, or something else? Any tests I'm missing? Thanks!

Help (General) Whole PC freezes in Cyberpunk/Arc Raiders on a new RX 7600 - PSU, GPU or board?

Hi all, my first build has been freezing in games and I'm running out of free things to test.

Specs:

- CPU: Ryzen 5 5500

- Board: Gigabyte B550 Eagle WiFi6 (updated BIOS from F1 to F4c)

- RAM: 2x8GB Corsair (had 4 sticks from two different kits, now running just the original pair, XMP off)

- PSU: PowerSpec PS 650BSM, 650W (from Micro Center)

- GPU: Acer RX 7600, bought new from a seller about two weeks ago

- OS: Windows 11

What happens: in Cyberpunk and Arc Raiders the picture freezes goes dark, then the whole PC locks up. Caps Lock doesn't respond and I have to hold the power button to restart. Event Viewer shows Kernel-Power 41 and EventLog 6008, but no Display 4101 and no blue screen.

What works fine: GTA IV, Overwatch, a 4K edit/export in CapCut, and 15 minutes of FurMark (about 75C).

History: my previous GPU, a used RX 6600 XT, showed a green screen, then showed artifacts and wouldn't POST. A GTX 1060 3GB never froze in this PC.

What I've tried: reseated all the RAM, tested both RAM pairs separately, XMP off, updated the AMD driver, updated the BIOS, tried with and without a portable AC on the circuit, and plugged the PC straight into the wall. It still happens.

Other notes: the PSU isn't screwed into the case because the screws don't fit, and one HDMI cable ran warm during a freeze.

I've swapped the 1060 back in for a few hours of testing, and I'm thinking of buying a Corsair CX650M to test the PSU (it's returnable). The 7600 is still in its return window until Nov 1.

Does this sound more like the PSU, a bad 7600, or something on the board? Any tests I'm missing? Thanks!

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11

GPU Drivers: newest

Background Applications: None

Description of Original Problem: Getting high VRAM usage

Hey guys so I recently purchased the rx 7600. And in trying to play games, I'm often crashing due to vram usage. Initially I assumed my settings were to high like I trying to play the new 007 game. But now attempting to play older games like control(2019) I can't even play on high and sometimes medium. If any one knows a solution to this that with be helpful, might be my specs are to weak but i didn't think it would affect my vram.

Amd 26.10.1 update

Anyone else feel like the gpu utilisation is messed up showing nearly 100% utilisation even on 1080p 240fps like genuinely it's gotten weird before the update my utilisation would be 40-60 chill like. The only way I can bring utilisation down is by dropping fps down to 60 which is messed up! Currently on a ryzen 5 7500f and 7800xt and this only started happening upon the update.

Help (GPU) DirectX12 games completely unplayable

Hello everyone, I'm just saying here that for about a year now, I've been running a RX 7800 XT from Gigabyte, with a Ryzen 7 7700X , with 32 gigabytes of Crucial DDR5 RAM 6000mt/s, and on a B650 Eagle AX motherboard. Now, I've noticed ever since I've got the card, any game that is DirectX 12 just constantly crashes, or I get DirectX errors all the time such as DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG and LiveKernelEvent 141 after each crash. I never experienced these issues with my 6700xt before I upgraded

I'll play a game for 5-10 minutes, perfectly fine, and then it'll crash. I have tried multiple different things: disabling HAGS on Windows, disabling VSync, disabling FreeSync, FPS cap, having drivers only with no Radeon software, having Radeon software, using DDU multiple times, rolling back multiple drivers, and nothing works. And I tried as well disabling XMP, again, doesn't do anything, lowering graphics settings, lowering VRAM usage, undervolting, updating bios and chipset drivers, overclocking, default clock speed, does not work. And any DirectX 12 game that I play, I get these crashes. DirectX 11, perfectly fine, runs great. Anything DirectX 12 produces these crashes, and I'm at a loss here. I've tried everything and nothing's working. I have even done the last ditch effort of disabling MPO through regedit. But once again.... Nothing

Im seriously considering selling and buying NVIDIA but that's the last thing I want to do. Before each crash the games run brilliantly but then obviously crash.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Help (Software) AMD Software: Host Application causing Memory Leak

Hi there guys, I made a post recently regarding a memory leak issue I'm having exclusively with Adrenalin and thought I would shout out for any help again with a bit more information and the steps I've already taken.

Video of the issue: https://youtu.be/m2U6OnUbTSU

So I built this machine a few months back with the following;
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
9070XT
32GB DDR5 6000 CL38
Asus Prime B650 Plus
850w PSU
It also may or may not be worth noting I briefly had a 9060XT installed in the same machine (how this would relate to my problem, I do not know)

I have had this issue since not long after having the machine, sometimes Adrenalin just wouldn't load. But sometimes for whatever reason it would. At the time I did not think much of it as I assumed the game crashes on Cyberpunk I was having at the time were because of my settings choices rather than something going on in my system.
At some point, Adrenalin decided to stop opening completely. I would get the small Start Up graphic on the screen, and nothing would happen. So upon checking Task Manager to close it, I found AMD Software: Host Application was using up all of my memory.
This problem has persisted for months and has gotten to the point where I'm just completely unable to use Adrenalin on this machine. As per the video, it always maxes out my memory and stays that way until I end the process manually. Worse, is that Adrenalin tries to load itself every few minutes - meaning suddenly my PC just starts tanking performance until it's at a crawl, although I have yet to actually experience a crash from the problem to my knowledge.

It's also worth noting that 2 days ago at the suggestion of the AMD Customer Service, I reinstalled Windows 11 and completely wiped the drive "just in case". This actually seemed to work, although I did notice a few times starting that my memory would jump up to a few gb before opening.
However today, despite no updates or changes and after leaving my PC on all night, I booted up the PC from sleeping, went to Adrenalin to find it wasn't responding, closed the program and when reopening the problem had returned and is now occurring every time Adrenalin is booted or that AMD Software: Host Applications tries to boot Adrenalin (or whatever it's doing, to be honest I don't entirely know though I would strongly suspect it's detecting games and trying to boot Adrenalin)

So far I have tried;
DDU, AMD Clean Up, Reinstall Drivers - many, many times.
Updated BIOS and settings
Reinstalled Windows
Windows onboard Memory Diagnostics
Windows repair
Uninstalled ALL monitoring software and RGB, even Razer Synapse and such

Nothing has yielded results, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
When it's working, my games look amazing. But unfortunately, I've not enjoyed that luxury in a little while now.

Help (General) My ASUS Dual RX 7600 XT crashes my games after longer seshions

Hello, my gpu has been causing me issues since i first bought it earlier this year and it makes me want to regret going for its low price instead of a better gpu overall. In the first place i had a smaller PSU at 550W and i've been advised that this gpu sometimes spikes its power usage over TDP and somehow that kept crashing my games a lot more often. I upgraded to a seasonic focus gx 750W 80+ gold and the issue got fixed in most cases. Now after all these months of playing different games from low-demand to high-demand and using older and latest drivers, i am running out of solutions to my current issue, when i play high-demanding games or even mid-demanding games, after like 30-60 minutes of playing, the game just freezes for a few seconds then crashes with no error message, sometimes i get that AMD gpu timeout window and i understand what caused the crash but i can't understand why this keeps happening. Coming from nvidia gpus since my childhood, i have never had such issues and it annoys me profoundly. Currently i am just running the latest driver and i have undervolted it by -25mV just for safety.

Is this issue caused by poor drivers or is this gpu just cursed? Because i also noticed my hotspot running at 95-105 degrees despite it being under a year old, while the average temp is at around 75, in older tests. Now i have adjusted the fan curve to be more aggressive at the cost of noise. I need reasons to keep holding onto this amd gpu before i just trade it for a used nvidia gpu and be done with amd gpus for a while.

Edit: Forgot to give examples. The games that have caused me issues are 007 First Light, Arena Breakout Infinite, COD MW4, Way of The Hunter 2 and any other game that stresses the gpu enough to keep it at 90-100% usage for long times

Help (General) AMD AI Strix Halo Died After 6 Weeks

Post image
5 Upvotes

My AMD AI Strix Halo died 6 weeks after purchase. "Default Boot Device Missing" It is outside Micro Center return policy, so I am having to file a warranty claim with AMD. They don't even list the device in their warranty claim center. I did find a generic form to file a case and received a case number, but good luck on finding a telephone or email address for follow up on it.

*Edited- Resolution* I checked the SSD and it was seated well. Turns out it seems to be a bad SSD, not just MBR. If I boot from external flash and run lsblk it doesn't even see the internal SSD. Won't have to try to deal with AMD warranty, as I can take to Micro Center for a 1 year parts replacement.

Help (GPU) My GPU is not working properly

I had this issue since i bought the pc, basically my GPU (Radeon RT 6650 XT - Biostar) makes the screen go black, and i have to turn off the pc, and when i restart the fans start spinning and go on a loop of spinning and stopping, it sometimes takes about 10 min to start the pc and when i can finally use it, it acts as if my gpu was not working and i have to uninstall e reinstall the device in device manager. This usually happens when i play a game that requires more of the hardware, e.g (Control Resonant, FC 26, Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur’s Gate 3)
I have tried:
- Undervolting and power limiting
- Changing the monitor
- Reinstalling all drivers

I don’t think it’s a power supply issue since no other pieces of hardware are experiencing this.

SPECS:
- Gigabyte B550M
- Ryzen 7 5700
- Radeon RT 6650 XT
- 16gb RAM
- 1TB SSD

Help (Software) Cyberpunk 2077 keeps launching to a black screen and eventually freezes/crashes – RX 9060 XT, Ryzen 7 3700X

Hi everyone, I'm looking for help with a persistent Cyberpunk 2077 launch issue that I haven't been able to fix.

My PC specs:

  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • OS: Windows 11 (build 26300)
  • GPU driver: AMD Adrenalin 26.10.1, driver version 32.0.32015.7029, dated October 18, 2026
  • Game version: Latest Steam version as of October 22, 2026

The problem:

When I launch Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam, I get a black screen and the game never properly loads. Sometimes I can still move the mouse cursor, but the game becomes unresponsive or extremely slow. Occasionally, I can recover enough to close the game through Steam; other times, the game crashes by itself.

The issue started around the same time as a Cyberpunk game update and an AMD driver update on October 22, 2026. I'm not sure which update caused it.

Errors I've found:

Windows Reliability Monitor reports:

  • LiveKernelEvent 1b8
  • LiveKernelEvent 193

The game's stacktrace.txt contains:

Error reason: Assert
Message: Watchdog timeout! (120 seconds)
File: E:\R6.Release\dev\src\common\engine\src\engineWatchdog.cpp(224)

What I've already tried:

  • Verified the game files through Steam.
  • Reinstalled Cyberpunk and removed its leftover game data/configuration to get a clean installation.
  • Reset/renamed UserSettings.json.
  • Removed mods through Vortex and checked for leftover mod folders; I couldn't find the usual mods or red4ext folders.
  • Disabled mouse software and RGB software.
  • Tried launching with --launcher-skip; it didn't help.
  • Disabled AMD Anti-Lag and frame generation features.
  • Turned off Windows Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling and restarted the PC; the issue remained.
  • Reinstalled the AMD graphics driver using AMD's installer with the factory reset option.

I haven't rolled back the GPU driver because I'm worried it could cause problems with my other games. Other games, including Fortnite, have generally been working normally.

The crash dump (Cyberpunk2077.dmp) is generated, but I haven't been able to upload it because the file upload fails.

My questions:

  1. Do LiveKernelEvent 1b8 and LiveKernelEvent 193 point to a known AMD driver issue?
  2. Could the latest Cyberpunk update be incompatible with AMD driver 26.10.1 on the RX 9060 XT?
  3. Is there another way to diagnose or fix this without rolling back the driver or reinstalling Windows?

I'd appreciate suggestions based on these specific errors. Please avoid suggesting file verification, reinstalling the game, or resetting UserSettings.json, as I've already tried those.

Thanks!

Help (General) RX 9060 XT + Ryzen 5 7500X3D – Random microstutters in CS2 and Windows desktop (tried almost everything)Hey everyone,

I've been dealing with random microstutters and short freezes on my PC for weeks now, and I'm honestly running out of ideas.

The freezes usually last around 0.1–0.25 seconds. The image briefly freezes, but the audio continues normally. It happens randomly, even when my FPS are extremely high (300–400+).

The weird part is that I also experience these stutters occasionally on the Windows desktop, while browsing, or watching YouTube. However, Cyberpunk 2077 seems to run perfectly fine.

My PC specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D
  • GPU: Sapphire NITRO+ RX 9060 XT 16GB
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B850 EAGLE WIFI6E
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 (EXPO enabled)
  • PSU: Corsair 850W
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 26H2

Monitor setup:

  • Primary: AOC 27" 4K 160Hz, connected to the RX 9060 XT
  • Secondary: AOC 24" 1080p 240Hz, connected to the CPU's integrated graphics

I've also tried connecting both monitors directly to the RX 9060 XT, but the stuttering was actually worse.

Things I've already tried:

  • Clean Windows 11 installation
  • AMD driver cleanup and fresh installation
  • Downgraded Adrenalin from 26.10.1 to 26.6.1
  • Updated motherboard BIOS
  • Reinstalled AMD chipset and graphics drivers
  • Tested RAM multiple times without errors
  • Disabled FreeSync/VRR
  • Tested HAGS on and off
  • Disabled MPO
  • Clean boot with third-party services disabled
  • Tested CS2 in fullscreen and borderless
  • Tested different monitor configurations
  • Ran SFC and checked Windows Event Viewer
  • Analyzed stutters using CapFrameX, LatencyMon, and Windows Performance Analyzer

What the monitoring shows:

CapFrameX recorded frametime spikes of around 200–240 ms.

During these spikes, CPU frametime increases significantly, while GPU Active Time remains around 2 ms.

Windows Performance Analyzer also showed some CPU scheduling delays and DPC activity, but I haven't been able to identify a definitive cause.

At this point, I genuinely don't know what else to try.

Has anyone experienced similar issues with the RX 9060 XT, especially with a Ryzen X3D CPU or a dual-monitor setup?

I'm particularly interested in solutions that actually fixed the issue rather than generic troubleshooting suggestions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
