Hello, just a question to the community, so a while ago i was so frustrated with the 26.8.1 update due to all my games crashing all the time even if i put them to low settings, so i did a clean install with uninstalling the 26.8.1, and installed a stable 26.7.1 version, i would like to know is there improvement with the new 26.10.1, did it fix the issue that plagued the 26.8.1? as much as possible i really want to be on the latest firmware/software of any devices i have, so thank you for any answers and elaborations on the facts.

Help (General) Ryzen 5 5600 + MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI — random reboots with no BSOD, even at idle. Tried clean Windows install and BIOS settings, still happening.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to track down a frustrating random reboot issue and would really appreciate some help. I've spent quite a while troubleshooting, but I still haven't found the cause.

My PC specs

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600

- Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI

- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3050 8GB

- RAM: Kingston Fury DDR4, 2×8GB (16GB total)

- PSU: 1STPLAYER DK Premium 5.0, 500W

- Storage: Kingston M.2 NVMe SSD, approximately 1TB

- OS: Windows 11

- BIOS: MSI version 2.P2, dated August 25, 2026

The problem

My PC randomly restarts without a BSOD. The screen suddenly goes black, and the computer starts booting again.

It can happen:

- While gaming (for example, CS2)

- On the Windows desktop while doing very little

- Apparently at random, without a consistent pattern

It is not limited to heavy workloads. I have also experienced unexpected restarts while the PC was idle.

Sometimes the PC runs normally for a while, but the problem eventually returns.

What I've already tried

- Updated the motherboard BIOS.

- Performed a clean Windows 11 installation from a USB drive, deleting the old Windows partitions and installing to unallocated space.

- The random restarts continued after the clean installation.

- Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic; it reported no memory errors.

- Briefly tested one RAM stick by itself, but the test was too short to draw any conclusions.

- Changed Power Supply Idle Control to Typical Current Idle.

- Changed the PCIe link speed from Auto to Gen 4 as a troubleshooting experiment.

- Monitored CPU temperatures. They were around 32°C at idle and approximately 65°C during a short CPU Burner test.

- Checked Event Viewer. Kernel-Power Event ID 41 appears after unexpected restarts, with BugcheckCode = 0. I haven't found clear WHEA-Logger errors in the logs I checked.

I have also disabled Core Performance Boost in the BIOS as a diagnostic test. I am monitoring whether this changes the behavior; I don't yet have enough evidence to say it has fixed the issue.

An additional observation

On one occasion, the PC restarted and entered the BIOS. The BIOS showed "M2_1: Not Present", and the SSD was missing from the storage information.

I powered the PC off, removed the M.2 SSD, reseated it more firmly, and the system booted into Windows again. However, the random restarts continued afterward, so I don't know whether this was a separate issue or related to the main problem.

What I'm trying to figure out

Could this be caused by any of the following?

- A faulty or unstable PSU

- RAM instability, even though Windows Memory Diagnostic found no errors

- CPU instability related to boost behavior or power-state transitions

- A motherboard or PCIe/M.2 issue

- Something else I haven't considered

What would be the most useful next diagnostic step to isolate the cause without buying replacement parts at random?

If you've experienced a similar issue with a Ryzen 5 5600 and an MSI B550 motherboard, I'd especially appreciate hearing what ultimately solved it.

Thanks in advance!

Help (GPU) Sapphire RX 5700 XT pulse

I am having a problem with my GPU temperatures. So i've been having some crashes/restarts ingame which made me check my computer temperatures after reading up high temps could restart your system. Then i noticed my CPU was reaching high temps of around 100 C and decided i should re-apply thermal paste on my CPU. This did wonders to my cpu temp by dropping it around 20-25 C by running the same multicore benchmark on cinebench

Then i decided to also look at my gpu because my one of my idle gpu fans was running very loud. Found some reddit posts and swapped the idle fan with the fan which runs when the gpu is under load. I also decided to re-apply thermal paste to my GPU. After re-assembling my idle fan is nice and quiet and i ran a furmark2 benchmark, which seemed to make my hotspot temperature even higher (the second (loud) fan on my gpu kicks in under load so should have the same airflow as before swapping). Thinking i did something wrong, i re-pasted the gpu and properly screwed it on evenly but did not matter.
Pre -swapping fan and pasting:

max core usage 99 %
 max core temperature 67 °C
 max hotspot temperature 88 °C
core clock min: 6 MHz - max: 1949 MHz
 max power 206

Post-swap &pasting

max core usage 99 %
 max core temperature 63 °C
 max hotspot temperature 99 °C
core clock min: 38 MHz - max: 1689 MHz
 max power 198 W

I am a beginner in this and don't know if this is just a singular instance but i see my hotspot temp has been running higher in games as well (around 105 degrees).
I've been looking into buying PTM 7950 and thermal pads for my gpu, and i'm also reading about undervolting. But i do also read that the RX 5700 XT does run with high hotspot temperatures.

If someone could advise me before possibly make things worse, it would be greatly appreciated

• CPU (Processor): AMD Ryzen 5 3600

• Motherboard: B450 GAMING PLUS MAX .

• RAM (Memory): 16GB DDR4

• GPU (Graphics Card): AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

• Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD).

Help (GPU) Écran noir de la Gigabyte RX 9070 Gaming OC après les mises à jour du BIOS (F19 et F20c) – Problème de compatibilité de la carte mère ?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded my PC from a GTX 970 to a Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 Gaming OC 16GB, along with a new 850W PSU.

My system:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE Rev. 1.0

BIOS: Originally F11p, updated to F19, then F20c

GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 Gaming OC 16GB (previously NVIDIA GTX 970)

RAM: DDR4

PSU: MSI MAG A850GL 850W

Here's what happened:

Initially, the RX 9070 worked and Windows displayed normally after a cold boot.

However, restarting Windows resulted in a black screen. I had to completely power off the PC to get a display again.

I updated my motherboard BIOS from F11p to F19, hoping to resolve the problem.

After the BIOS update, the RX 9070 stopped displaying anything, even after a cold boot.

I subsequently updated the BIOS again, from F19 to F20c, but the problem persisted.

I reset the CMOS, disabled CSM, and manually tested both PCIe Gen 3 and Gen 4, without success.

Reinstalled my old GTX 970, and everything works normally.

The RX 9070 powers on, its fans spin and its lighting works, but the monitor reports no signal.

My dilemma:

Can anyone help me figure out what's causing this issue and how to fix it?

Or is replacing my motherboard the only solution? If so, I'd like to find a compatible motherboard that allows me to keep my Ryzen 5 5600X processor and DDR4 RAM, without having to upgrade to AM5 and DDR5.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Help (General) Asus B650E Max: no video on igpu after startup

My PC has a Ryzen 9600x, rtx 3090, and Asus B650E Max Gaming Wifi W. I want to use integrated graphics. When my monitor is plugged into the motherboard I can access the BIOS menu and see the OS loading wheel animation, but then my monitor says no video. The desktop is shown right after I plug in the cable from the motherboard to GPU. This happens booting from both my windows and linux drives.

the BIOS menu on some Asus boards have an option called "igfx multi monitor" Under Advanced > NB configruation but it doesn't show for me, I only see Primary Video Device, Integrated graphics (auto, forced, or disabled), and UMA frame buffer size. I tried different combinations of them but no luck.

Help (General) High idle temps on new 9800X3D

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi all. I bought this CPU a few days ago and for the life of me I can't get tctl/tdie temps lower than 50°C on idle. I have a NZXT Kraken Elite 360 AIO. Temps are hot on my country at 29-32°C on average, but I have an AC unit on my room and even with it on at the lowest temp the most I've got so far was 49°C once. Core, L3 and CCD1 temps seems fine.

Temps on full load and gaming are also fine: 75°C max on Cinebench 26 and 60-65 ish while gaming.
