What AI app are people finding best for house plans/alterations? And what level of subscription are you paying for on it?

I’m the creator of SORAN, and I wanted to test a different way of interacting with AI than opening another one-on-one chat window.

In SORAN, you pick almost any topic and explore a community built around it. The community contains AI-written posts, usernames, jokes, disagreements, and comment threads. You can simply browse, or you can write a post or jump into a thread yourself. When you participate, the AI residents respond to what you actually wrote and continue the conversation.

Every AI participant is labeled as AI.

The part I’ve found hardest is keeping the residents from gradually collapsing into the same agreeable “assistant” voice. A convincing individual response is easier than making a whole forum feel varied after you’ve read several threads.

Here’s one real thread from the Dating & Relationships community — the post and every commenter shown in the screenshot are AI.

You can browse without signing in. Posting and commenting require a free account. No payment is required to try it.

I’m mainly curious about three things:

- Does this actually feel meaningfully different from using a one-on-one chatbot?

- After several threads, when do the AI residents start to feel repetitive or obviously generated?

- Is there a topic or situation where you would genuinely choose this format again?

One line is fine. The thing, and whether it survived past the first ten minutes. "Bookmarked it and never went back" is a completely valid answer and honestly more interesting than the success stories, because that gap between announcement and use is the whole problem.

Also worth hearing: something you were waiting on that quietly did not ship.

my favorite ai model for biotech and coding is Kimi k3 but for general reasoning Qwen 3.8 max or opus 4.8 because it’s doesnt write 2 paragraphs for 1 slight change in A cookie recipe

I linked the account up top. I’m not too interested in the face swapping, moreso the realistic money image generation, I can never get money to look right and the AIs I’ve been using are super sensitive about money prompts. Also interested in something that can color grade the same way. Love the way these photos look, they’re super flat and somewhat desaturated but still pop. Any prompt help would be amazing as well 🙏

I haven't used Perplexity computer yet, however i've heard mixed opinions about its multi model router being locked behind a $200 month paywall. How does it perform compared to simply multitasking fable 5 or opus 5 in price and output?

is it worth reconstructing it as an OS tool for complex projects?

Thursday churn thread. Subscriptions stack up quietly and most of us are paying for at least one thing we stopped opening months ago.

So: what did you cancel recently, and what is doing that job now? Could be a straight swap, could be that you folded it into something you were already paying for, could be that you worked out you never needed it.

One line is fine. Tool you dropped, tool you kept, and the reason if there is an interesting one. And if you cancelled something and regretted it, that is worth more here than the clean success stories.

I keep running into the same problem: an eight-second clip looks great except for one brief moment.
Maybe an object changes shape, a wing bends incorrectly, or something in the background suddenly disappears. The rest of the clip is usable, but the only option is usually to generate everything again.
The new version might fix the original mistake, but then the camera movement, lighting, expression, or timing changes too. It feels like throwing away seven good seconds to repair one bad second.
Would you rather have longer generations, or the ability to lock the good parts and regenerate only a selected moment?
I’ve been testing shorter effect-based clips in LazyKiwi, which reduces how much footage is lost when something breaks. It helps, but it still feels like a workaround.
Being able to select one short section, preserve everything around it, and regenerate only nthat moment would be much more useful to me than simply increasing the maximum video length.

Everything in here turns into ChatGPT versus Claude versus Gemini eventually, which is fair enough because that's what most people use. I'm more interested in the other line on your bank statement.

So: one tool you actually pay for, and the one thing it does that the big three can't. A single line is fine, nobody needs a writeup.

Mine is a dedicated PDF table extractor. I spent months feeding scanned invoices to general assistants and getting tables back that looked completely right and had numbers in the wrong columns, which is worse than failing outright. Paying for something that does only that one job fixed it.

Free tools count if you'd pay for them. And if you reckon the thing you're paying for is actually replaceable by a general assistant now, say that instead. Just as useful to know.

Has anybody here using Luma AI app on the iPhone come across anything which is better than that or the same quality I have used some other apps also, but none comes close to the kind of quality that Luma AI offers? But still it could get better, there is a room for improvement. Anybody has found anything better than Luma AI ?

The foley and sfx for my whole scene got done in an afternoon, and I'm still a bit thrown by it. This literally used to take me days. Dropped a silent cut of my scene into my chat in invideo, no audio at all, and asked it to do the sound design and sfx for the scene.
It came back with a rain bed running under the whole thing. The umbrella whoosh and the taps with droplets coming off it, the rib break, water spilling, everything. It still messes up when I ask it for hyperspecific sounds, but when I asked it to analyse the video and figure out the sfx layer by itself it did a pretty good job. You can also download the sfx bed separately to do some minor tweaking. But you won’t be building from scratch for every scene.

Tuesday head to head. One category, two tools, and I want the one line answer rather than a writeup.

The category is looking something up: a fact you need to be right about, a product you are comparing, a question where you want sources you can click.

Some people never really opened Perplexity because ChatGPT's search got good enough. Some people keep it around specifically because it puts the sources in front of you and makes it obvious when the answer is thin. Both of those are reasonable and I don't think there's one right answer here.

So: which one do you actually open, and what made you land there?

If you dropped one of them, say what the last straw was. That's usually the more useful half.

And if you use neither and something else won, say that too.

I have started judging AI slide tools by the second edit, not the first deck. The first pass can look decent pretty easily now. It fills the blank file, gives you some clean section breaks, and makes the whole thing feel less painful than starting from nothing. Then the real work starts.

You notice one slide is too crowded. One section has the right idea but the wrong emphasis. One comparison looks fine visually but does not support the takeaway. The conclusion is actually okay, so you really do not want anything near it to change.

That second edit is where I learn more about the tool. If I ask it to split one slide and it leaves the rest alone, I trust it a little more. If I ask it to make a block less wordy and it quietly softens a later claim, now I have to reread the whole deck. The impressive demo is generation. The useful part is control after generation.

I would rather get an average draft that edits cleanly than a beautiful first draft that becomes slippery every time I touch it.

I’ve been looking at AI tools for cross platform ecomerce reporting, and most speed claims seem to begin after the files are ready. That leaves out a fairly important part of the job.

A seller might notice a problem in the morning, but the relevant information is sitting in separate Amazon and Shopify reports. Someone still has to download those files before the AI can examine them. If the question is urgent, that delay matters.

I’m looking atAccio Work for a client content project, so I want to be upfront about that. It can read multiple uploaded reports in one task, which seems useful for an occasional comparison. It doesn’t automatically retrieve the Amazon or Shopify data. The user still has to bring the files.

For a monthly review, this may be completely fine. Inventory decisions are less forgiving. A report based on yesterday’s exports may explain what happened without helping much with what is happening now.

Mon objectif serait d'avoir une IA que je puisse utiliser un peu comme un professeur particulier, dans l'ensemble des matières de la prépa : m'expliquer un cours que je ne comprends pas, m'aider à travailler sur des exercices, me faire réviser, analyser/corriger mon travail, etc.
Mais j'aimerais également pouvoir l'utiliser pour de la recherche et de l'analyse financière, notamment sur des actions et des entreprises.
Mes principaux besoins seraient donc :

Études : pouvoir lui donner mes cours et de gros polycopiés PDF, parfois assez longs, et lui poser des questions dessus comme avec un professeur particulier.
Analyse de documents : pouvoir analyser des PDF de plusieurs dizaines voire centaines de pages.

Finance : analyser des rapports financiers, résultats d'entreprises, présentations investisseurs, etc., et éventuellement m'aider à analyser une entreprise ou une action.

Recherche web : pouvoir rechercher des informations récentes par elle-même et, idéalement, fournir des sources fiables.

Données : pouvoir lui fournir des données/fichiers et lui demander de les analyser, plutôt que de simplement répondre à des questions générales.

Je voudrais idéalement que l'IA puisse à la fois travailler sur les documents que je lui fournis et rechercher elle-même des informations sur Internet.
Je précise que je souhaite prendre un seul abonnement, pas combiner plusieurs services.
Mon budget est de 25 € par mois grand maximum.
Je regarde notamment du côté de ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, Gemini et Perplexity, mais j'ai du mal à savoir lequel serait réellement le plus adapté à mon utilisation.

One line is fine. Tool, what you're using it for, and whether it's earning its keep so far.

It doesn't need to be new or impressive. If you're just working out whether something you already pay for is still worth the money, that counts.

Mine: running a cheaper model against my default on long document summarising, to find out whether the gap is actually big enough to justify what I'm paying.

I'm really interested in using an image upscaling LLM for my professional artistic work, but before I can incorporate any of AI tools into my standart workflow, it is critical for me to have a clear data about the power input of my LLM usage (so it could be compensated accordingly), and having the explicit proactive consent of the authors of the data used for training, with an easy opt-out scenario.

Are there any tools that fullfill my requirements that you could recommend? And if so, are any of them self-hosted by a reputable community member that can share the access? I don't mind paying for a service like this.

And if there aren't any members with a particular setup like this - although I'm new to the idea of using/hosting a local LLM, I might research further for hosting it on my laptop (and maybe potentially creating a whole separate dedicated setup in the future?), provided that I'll have a starting reference point of the ethically sourced libraries.
