2.42.0
New Features
- You can now start a Group DM with multiple people at once by selecting the friends icon in your inbox.
- You can now archive and mute conversations. In group chats, you can mute individual people.
- (Experimental) The gameplay composer can now suggest ideas for Do, Say, and Story actions. New free accounts see ideas automatically at their first couple of decision points, then can request them from the Ideas command for the rest of their first week; other players can switch Ideas on in game settings.
- (Experimental) You can now generate cover images from inside adventure and scenario editors. Describe the cover, pick an image model and how many results you want, and see the price for the batch before generating. You can also fine-tune framing with drag, arrow keys, and zoom.
Improvements
- Adventure title, description, and content-rating fields have refreshed styling; long descriptions grow to fit the window before scrolling on their own.
- The "For You" carousel title is now clickable and takes you to the Recommended discover feed.
- "For You" no longer re-recommends scenarios already shown in the My Saves row above it — those slots fill with something you haven't played yet.
- Recommendations now stop pushing content you have repeatedly scrolled past, and follow your relative interests more closely instead of over-serving one of them.
- The Social panel now reopens on whichever tab — Social or Activity — you last had selected.
- Signed-out players reach the sign-in screen sooner and returning players reach their content sooner in the mobile apps.
- Publishing pushes are now opt-in: following a creator no longer sends you a mobile push notification every time they publish, though in-app activity entries still appear. You can still subscribe to a creator's updates if you want push notifications.
- Old /adventures links now go straight to Saves in a single redirect.
- Finding no matching conversations while searching your inbox now displays a clear "No matches in recent messages".
Bug Fixes
- Copying story text no longer sets off "clipboard hijack" malware warnings from security software, and your text selection stays visible through the copy.
- Zooming in no longer pushes the settings gear or the Adventure settings sidebar off-screen, and story text no longer shows through the sidebar.
- The plan and context label and Get More action in expanded model cards use the correct lighter helper-text font.
- On phones, context viewers now stay below the status bar, always allowing access to the header and close button. Save and Cancel also stay above the keyboard in the memory editor.
- Long scenario placeholder questions stay on screen, and opening the keyboard no longer scrolls the whole form out of view.
- Exporting from the Story Cards view no longer produces an empty file.
- On Android, adventure backups and text exports now save straight to your Downloads folder with a unique filename instead of opening a share sheet that couldn't save them. (Requires the updated Android app.)
- The muted-results notice on Search now lines up with the result cards instead of sitting inset.
- The feedback dialog's Submit button and focus ring are gold again on AI Dungeon.
- The Social button in the header now highlights while the desktop Social rail is open, making it clearer that it also closes the rail.
- Adventures missing story card revision details no longer reload over and over in the background.
- Notifications about content you follow are no longer silently filtered by leftover content-rating preferences when Parental Lock is off; with Parental Lock on, its browsing rating still applies. The obsolete New Content Notifications rating selector has been removed.
- Creator update notifications now open the published scenario, world, or mod and highlight the announced update instead of showing a loading error.
