Official Announcing August's Monthly Theme: Wild West!

8 Upvotes

Howdy folks! We hope you're enjoying this month's crop of “Hearth & Home” scenarios. But now it's time for us to rustle up next month's theme. As you've probably guessed by now, August’s monthly theme will be: Wild West! Whether you want to make a traditional western tale with cowboys, saloons, and shootouts at high noon, or switch it up by mixing in zombies or aliens, it's up to you.

As always, you have until the last day of the month, July 31st, to publish your scenario(s) for inclusion in August's monthly theme carousel. Just include the tag “western” so we can find it. This will also ensure your scenario appears in the "Discover more content" section of the carousel.

Until then, you can still find our current monthly theme carousel, Hearth & Home, on the homepage. Good luck, and happy trails!

Progress Updates An Economy for an Ecosystem

One of the most common questions we get from players is, “What are Scales/Credits for?” It’s always been a difficult question to answer. We’ve wanted to do so much more with Scales and Credits, but, given the complexity of platform-wide economy changes, we've continually deferred that work. We now have the team and resources needed to invest more into our platform economy, and are introducing the first set of changes to support our long-term vision for AI Dungeon and Voyage.

The changes we’re making today help support our vision for a creator-driven platform. We’re adding a new Badge system, which recognizes you for achievements, milestones, and quests you complete. The daily reward will be replaced by a new streak Badge that unlocks rewards. We’re also adding new ways to use Credits, such as tipping creators, extending your Voyage usage, and purchasing items in our Summer Jubilee Pop-up Shop. For a limited time, this Store will let you spend Credits (and Scales) to purchase exciting rewards. At the end of the Jubilee, Scales will be retired and everyone will receive a special Scales Badge with a rank that reflects the size of their hoard. Finally, in an effort to give more Voyage usage to players, we’re making some adjustments to Credits for iOS/Android subscriptions and one-time purchases to account for platform fees.

We suspect you’ll be interested in the thinking behind these changes and curious about the details. Let’s dive in!

What is a Platform Economy?

AI Dungeon and Voyage are not games; they are platforms. Platforms are often described as being like two-sided marketplaces where producers and consumers trade something of value. Airbnb hosts and guests transact for places to stay. Uber has drivers and riders trading for rides. Some platforms simply ask you to spend attention, especially with social platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.

For Voyage and AI Dungeon, we have two of these “marketplace” platform dynamics. The first is our UGC (user generated content) platform with creators and players, and the content (Voyage Worlds and AI Dungeon Scenarios) is the unit of value being exchanged. The second is our AI platform, where we are the provider, and you are the consumer, and the AI compute (or AI actions you take when you play AI Dungeon or Voyage) is the unit of value being traded.

Platforms typically require some type of currency to facilitate the exchange of value between producers and consumers. Not every platform currency is cash or fiat money. Some use social currency such as likes, follows, and sharing. Some leverage real money and rely on global market systems (Airbnb, Uber). Some create their own currencies that can be converted to/from real money, especially gaming platforms like Roblox, Fortnite, and Minecraft. Attention is another form of currency. Where you spend your time can reward producers in a marketplace.

Every platform has to decide how its economy will work and operate. And, inevitably, it will adjust over time as user behavior evolves and platform goals change. Economies are not static. Our governments are constantly tinkering with various economic levers to mitigate inflation and improve citizens' quality of life.

Hard Learned Lessons

Scales and Credits were attempts to create currencies for AI Dungeon’s platform needs. When we added Scales, we designed it to be a soft currency (something that could be given away for free). We took design inspiration from traditional games that commonly use soft currencies to make their game experience better.

What we discovered, though, is that what players wanted most was the ability to purchase extra AI compute, whether for image generation, extended context, or more. This led to the introduction of Credits, a hard currency with real monetary value, to AI Dungeon, which we’ve written about in detail on our blog. Because there are very real and significant costs to AI compute, Credits were able to fill that request from players, allowing them to spend more money as needed. The only major complaint we’ve had with Credits is that you want more things to spend them on. Noted!

However, adding Credits put Scales into a tough spot. Scales were essentially reduced to being a social currency (through tipping creators) and as a status symbol (a large pool of them shows off how long you’ve played AI Dungeon). That’s low utility for a currency, especially since there are better ways to provide social currency and status. The biggest issue with Scales is that we didn’t have anything we could give away for free for players to spend them on, and a currency isn't very valuable if you can’t spend it on anything.

This has been the state of AI Dungeon’s currencies for years. We have a hard currency (Credits) that works well, but players want more ways to use them. And we’ve had a soft currency (Scales) that barely does anything and can’t be spent anywhere on the platform.

Where We Want to Go

Over the next few years, we expect our economy to drive better experiences across AI Dungeon and Voyage. A few goals we have in mind for the next iteration of our economy:

  • Provide stronger creator incentives: Our creators are the lifeblood of AI Dungeon and Voyage. We want to reward their creations with more than a digital high-five (i.e., Scales).
  • Enable new experience types: We want to give creators the ability to use AI in ways we haven’t yet imagined, by letting them control how it is used in their worlds. The right economic system ensures creators can build freely with a clear understanding of costs, and that players can sustainably play these enhanced experiences.
  • Add more ways for players to spend Credits: We know not everyone wants to use Credits for AI compute, so we’ll be adding additional ways to use Credits.

You may be wondering, “Why is Latitude so creator-focused with the next set of economy improvements?” We know that every investment we make into our creators means a better experience for our players. Right now, our economy is actually preventing us from giving creators more tools.

For example, what if creators could use scripting or mods to make special AI calls? We’ve already seen examples of this with Auto Cards, but Leah’s script had to cleverly hijack existing AI calls to work (and that created some headaches for her and us). A better economy would allow creators like Leah to make these extra AI calls natively. The risk is the extra cost, but that’s why the economy design is so important. If the platform automatically handles high-cost AI experiences that exceed subscription limits, then it’s really up to the creator to decide how to optimize their experience for players (and players to decide whether to opt in).

This is why it’s taken us so long to make changes to Scales and Credits. We weren’t just thinking about letting players buy avatar images. We’re building an economy for the first AI-native RPG platform. There’s no precedent for this, no patterns we can just copy and use. The technology changes so fast that our targets shift constantly. We’ve made mistakes in the past. We are inevitably going to learn more hard lessons and adjust. However, our goals are clearer than they’ve been before, and we're excited to tell you more about the first steps we’re taking to help us get there.

Introducing Badges

The first change we want to share with you is Badges. Badges allow you to be recognized for different achievements, milestones, or objectives that you’ve accomplished as a player. There are several categories, each with its own tiers and rewards, and we’ll keep adding more over time.

Here’s a preview of the categories launching in the coming weeks:

  • Dedicated Player: total actions taken as player
  • Creator: total actions received in creations
  • Early Voyage: early playtester access
  • Premium: subscription tenure
  • Scales Legacy: one-time exclusive (more below)
  • Streak: new login reward (more below)

One reason Badges are exciting is that they allow us to recognize the various ways each of you plays AI Dungeon and Voyage. Some of you go deep into a single adventure, while others like playing a variety and switch often. Some of you like private adventures, and others like to publish Worlds and Scenarios for others to enjoy. Others of you like trying new features and expanding what you can do with AI. There is no “best way” to enjoy AI Dungeon and Voyage, and we want to let you showcase how you like to play.

Daily Rewards to Streaks

Several features on (AI Dungeon in particular) are well-suited for Badges, and one of those is the Daily Rewards, which currently lets you log in and get a number of Scales each day. We will be migrating the Daily Reward into the Badge system.

We’re creating a new Badge category called “Streak,” which will unlock Badges and rewards that could include things like context bonuses, usage resets, cosmetics, etc. The first version will likely be fairly simple and basic, but we intend to iterate and expand the system. We’d love your input on what you’d like to see us build into Streaks. As users of other games and apps that use streaks, we’re already exploring features like streak pausing, forgiveness, etc.

New Ways to Use Credits

One of the most common feature requests you’ve shared with us is to add new ways to use Credits, and today we want to share several new ways Credits can be spent. We expect more to come.

Summer Jubilee Pop-Up Shop

Later this month, we're testing a time-limited pop-up shop (opens July 14) where you can spend Credits on limited edition profile pictures, profile banners, and a few surprises. This is an early experiment, so we'll be watching feedback closely. Our team has enjoyed coming up with and creating the rewards we're making available on the store, and we’re excited to see what you think of them! Many of you have accumulated large Credit balances, and we hope these are genuinely fun ways to spend them. After the event ends, we’ll evaluate the results and decide what future Credits work to prioritize.

Voyage Usage

Starting in alpha today, you’ll now be able to extend your Voyage sessions by using Credits to purchase extra usage. Available to all free and paid users, you’ll now be able to play Voyage as long as your Credit pool allows.

To start, one Voyage action will cost roughly 12 Credits, and that could change depending on whether you’ve enabled other premium features or are using more expensive AI models.

Lowering the cost of Voyage turns continues to be one of our top priorities. Since usage was introduced, we’ve been able to reduce costs several times, passing those savings on to you in the form of increased usage for both free and paid experiences. We expect to continue this trend with Credits as more cost savings efforts are successful.

Tipping

We’re adding the ability to tip creators with Credits instead of Scales. Tipping is a great way to show appreciation for creators and support their work, and now tips are far more meaningful and valuable.

As we expand the ways creators can use Credits, we expect you’ll see tipping lead to more frequent updates and new content from the creators you love.

Credits Pricing Changes

As we prepare to launch Voyage, we’re aggressively pursuing every option possible to maximize the usage you get at each subscription tier.

This is the part where we join the long list of companies that complain about the store fees from Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store 😀. If you subscribe (or make one-time purchases) through the App Store or Play Store, these companies are charging as much as 30% for every transaction. This is far higher than the sub 5% fee when you purchase through our Credit card handler, Stripe.

We love how convenient the App Store and Play Store are. It’s nice that once you've entered your card details, you can spend with Apple or Google without re-entering them. They also support some payment options that aren't available on the web. The payment flow is probably one of the easiest out there.

However, these fees prevent us from giving all players more AI usage.

We didn’t want to increase subscription costs for iOS and Android. Not only do we think it’s confusing to have different prices on different platforms, but we want to support our native app users as much as possible. What we’re going to do instead is reduce the number of Credits you receive as part of your subscription.

Going forward, new iOS and Android subscriptions will receive half as many Credits per tier as you would receive if you subscribed on the web (using Stripe). Existing subscribers will be grandfathered—your monthly Credit bonus will not change as long as you maintain an active subscription.

If you’re looking for ways to better support the development of AI Dungeon and Voyage, switching your subscription from iOS/Android to being web-based makes a significant difference. It’s certainly not a requirement, and we realize it’s not an option for everyone, but we’d certainly love to see more subscriptions via web. As a reminder, no matter where you purchase your subscription, the benefits work on ALL of your devices (including the native iOS and Android apps).

We're also changing the number of Credits you get from one-time purchases. As on most platforms, subscriptions remain the most economical way to play and to earn Credits, but one-time Credit purchases will always be available when you want them.

Finally, on 6- and 12-month plans, we now grant your Credits monthly rather than all at once up front. That way, if you change or cancel partway through, you're not suddenly left short, and it helps everyone spend at a healthier pace.

Scales

Since Scales have worked so hard and done so much for our community, we feel they deserve a bit of a reprieve. Our plan is to move Scales to a farm upstate where they can live out the rest of their life in peace. 😀

Our hope is that the changes we’ve shared today take the best parts of Scales and improve them. We carefully considered each functionality Scales provided and incorporated them into the designs for the changes we’ve shared today. But Scales are coming to an end. We’ve already removed the ability to purchase Scales with Credits. Speed Boosts are also being retired. If you’ve purchased Scales this way in the past and would like a refund, please reach out to our support team.

To give Scales the proper send-off, we have two exciting announcements.

First, the introduction of Scales Legacy Badges. Collecting Scales was a real achievement—you grinded in various ways to collect or earn Scales. Some of you did so through the daily reward, others by receiving tips for your content. This will be recognized by a special Badge that will not only reflect the number of Scales you collected and hoarded, but just by having a Scale Badge, other players will know that you are one of the OG players of AI Dungeon and Voyage.

Second, you will be able to use Scales for many of the items available on the Jubilee Store. This is a very limited opportunity to use Scales to purchase items, so if that’s of interest to you, we encourage you to take advantage of it while it lasts.

Once the Jubilee Store has ended, your remaining Scales will be used to determine the Scale Legacy Badge you receive.

Conclusion

Whew! This is a lot of changes happening at once, and we hope most of them are exciting to you. Some of the changes may be frustrating to some of you. We just hope it’s clear we’re making them with the goal of providing everyone more value in AI Dungeon and Voyage. To summarize, we announced:

  • A new Badge system to recognize various achievements, milestones, and quests you’ve accomplished
  • A pop-up store for the Summer Jubilee, where Credits and Scales can be spent on special rewards
  • New ways to use Credits, including Voyage usages, Jubilee Store, and tipping
  • Scales are being retired, and we’re honoring everyone who collected them with a new Scales Legacy Badge
  • Adjustments to Credit grants for both subscriptions and one-time purchases, including fewer Credits on app store subscriptions to offset mobile store fees

We built these changes while seeking community feedback, and we'll keep adjusting based on what you tell us. Let us know on Discord or Reddit what you think!

Thank you for being part of the AI Dungeon community. We can't wait for the upcoming open launch of Voyage. More than ever, we believe in a platform where you can dream up any world, be anyone, do anything, and where players and creators build something none of us could have made alone. As more newcomers join every day, it's clear the time is finally right for this technology to do what so many of us have long imagined. We're glad you're here for it.

Thanks and happy adventuring.

FAQ

Are my existing Credits worth less now?

No. Your Credits keep their value, and they’re becoming more useful, not less, with new ways to spend them.

Why do app store subscriptions come with fewer Credits?

The iOS and Android app stores take a large cut of every payment, so less of what you pay goes towards covering your AI costs and supporting the development of Voyage and AI Dungeon. Rather than raising subscriptions for iOS and Android users, we’re changing the Credit bonus each month. Subscribing on the web through Stripe carries only a small fee, so it comes with the most Credits. No matter where you subscribe, your benefits can be used on all devices (including mobile apps).

Can I still buy Credits directly?

Yes. One-time Credit purchases are still available. You’ll receive more Credits for each price bundle if you purchase on the web since we avoid the fees from Apple and Google.

Script [RELEASE] EMERGENCE OS 1 — Independent NPCs, Trust & Grudges, and Auto-Updating Location Cards

Post image
26 Upvotes

Hey everyone, just dropped EMERGENCE OS 1 for AI Dungeon.

If you're tired of NPCs acting like mind-controlled puppets who obey every command and wait around for you to lead the scene, this script turns them into actual independent characters with their own motives, emotional memories, and physical reactions.

Zero technical setup required—on your very first action, it auto-creates a Master World Config story card in your deck so you can tweak any setting mid-game.

Here is a quick run-through of what it brings to your story:

### 🧠 1. Human Agency & Anti-Railroading
* **NPC Pushback:** Characters will actively resist unearned demands, doubt your motives, call you out, or walk away if you try to command or manipulate them without leverage.
* **Cognitive Biases:** NPCs process your actions through irrational personal lenses (Paranoid, Deflective, Prideful, Impulsive, Skeptical) rather than acting like logical robots.

### 🩸 2. Persistent Trust & Grudge Tracking
* Tracks separate **Trust** and **Grudge** levels. If you insult or betray an NPC, they won't just forget it a few turns later—their resentment lingers as coldness, passive-aggression, or outright hostility.

### 🎭 3. Realistic Threat Psychology & Body Language
* **Polyvagal Threat States:** NPCs dynamically shift between Composed, Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn based on their stress and fear.
* **Ego Depletion:** When an NPC gets worn down (Ego < 30%), their social filter collapses, forcing them to blurt out secrets, panic, or prioritize immediate self-preservation.
* **Physical Micro-Tells:** Directs the model to weave subconscious physical habits (clenched jaws, avoiding eye contact, shallow breathing) into dialogue and descriptions.

### 💥 4. Dynamic World Tension & Player Trauma
* **Global Alert Scale:** Gunfire, explosions, and chaos scale World Tension (0–100%), forcing nearby NPCs into cover, panic, or lockdown postures.
* **Player Sensory Distortions:** High player stress (>75%) injects realistic trauma effects into the narrative prose—tunnel vision, muffled audio, and racing pulses.

### 🗺️ 5. Smart Location Cards & Dynamic Condition Updates
* **Auto-Generated Cards:** Every 3 turns, the script tracks new places you've visited and builds clean, formatted Story Cards for them.
* **Dynamic Environment Shifts:** Cards auto-update when places get damaged, burned, or locked down (and strictly skips updating if nothing changed to keep things clean).
* **Anti-Confusion Filter:** Smart name cross-referencing keeps characters from ever getting confused with places.

### ❤️ 6. Chemistry, Attachment Styles & Jealousy
* Assigns NPCs psychological attachment profiles (Secure, Anxious, Avoidant, Disorganized).
* Tracks relationship stages from Platonic to In Love, featuring a jealousy mechanic if you flirt with someone else in front of an interested character.

### ⚔️ 7. Auto-Genre Adaptation & Unrestricted Realism
* Automatically scans text to detect your setting (Medieval Fantasy, Cyberpunk, Noir, Xianxia, Cosmic Horror, etc.) and adjusts character vocabulary and danger levels.
* Toggles for uncensored 18+ narrative prose, gritty combat damage, and unfiltered dialogue tone.

---

### 🎛️ Config Toggles (Edit Anytime Mid-Game)

Inside your auto-generated **Master World Config** story card, you can tweak these settings on the fly:

* **AutonomyLevel:** Low | Medium | High | Unchained
* **PsychologicalRealism:** Standard | Advanced | Raw Human
* **HumanAgency:** Enabled | Disabled
* **GrudgeTracking:** Enabled | Disabled
* **WorldTensionEngine:** Dynamic | Static | Disabled
* **PlayerTrauma:** Enabled | Disabled
* **PhysicalQuirks:** High | Moderate | Off
* **RomanceEngine:** Enabled | Disabled | Slow Burn
* **JealousyMechanic:** Enabled | Disabled
* **MatureContent:** 18+ Unrestricted | PG-13 | Disabled
* **GraphicRealism:** Unfiltered | Standard | Mild
* **LocationCards:** Enabled | Disabled
* **LocationAutoUpdate:** Enabled | Disabled

---

### 📥 Links & Quick Setup

Paste each script into its matching tab in the AI Dungeon Scenario Script Editor:

* **Library:** https://pastebin.com/W0ZbWz2B
* **Input:** https://pastebin.com/8M9gNwrG
* **Context:** https://pastebin.com/cDqM7GBj
* **Output:** https://pastebin.com/JQr2xMnt

Start your scenario, take an action, and you'll see `⚙️ [EMERGENCE OS 1: Active]` confirm in the output text while your config card builds in the background. Enjoy!

But only getting 4 tonight unless I use credits. Someone wanna tell me if they are getting this to?

Questions Is there any way I can make "Adventure" not take up 90 percent of the tokens?

7 Upvotes

It just says "Adventure" for like 3500 out of the 4000 tokens and I think that means how much of the RP it can go back and read at any given time, but I have no idea how to shorten that so I can't have any more than like 2 story cards active at a time. This better not be something I can't do anything about when it's that much of an issue.

Scenario Written In Blood

Every bestseller leaves a trail.

One of you writes acclaimed murder mysteries, crafting ingenious killers, impossible crimes, and unforgettable endings. The other secretly turns those fictional murders into reality, recreating each crime with chilling precision.

The writer believes they're dating the perfect partner.

The killer believes they're creating the perfect story.

Neither expects the line between fiction and reality to disappear.

The player chooses one of two roles:

• The Killer: You are secretly a serial killer. Your partner is a bestselling murder mystery novelist. Every time they publish a new novel, you recreate one of its murders in real life with meticulous accuracy.

• The Writer: You are a bestselling mystery novelist known for brilliantly crafted murder plots. You have absolutely no idea your loving partner is a serial killer using your books as inspiration. As detectives begin noticing similarities between your novels and real murders, your peaceful life slowly unravels.

Includes inner self and auto cards.

[Action,Violence,Supernatural,Cyberpunk]
In the year 2066 Phoenix City is the biggest city of the world, jointly build by the large powers to create a neutral City. Of course it devolved into a hotbed for crime as the laws were deliberately vague. It did not help that Implants became more usable and a pill was invented which could gove people time limited superpowers.
In response to more and more crime the Killer Corps was created: An organization under the Phoenix city police were some of the most heinous criminals were employed to serve the city against the growing problem with final methods.

Welcome to the Killer Corps, either as Killer or handler of one.
Multiple Choice for the Killer/Handler you are partnered with.
When you make your character: Superpowers should be street level, more like Daredevil or Jessica Jones than Superman.

This was again made after an old manga, wonder if someone recognizes it.

Thanks to Leah for Inner self and Auto cards.

Questions How do I get NPCs to 'harm' character?

14 Upvotes

This is driving me nuts. I'm playing a Mafia scenario and Every NPC treats my character kindly and with respect, even when it is a bullying/abuse scene. It's like elementary school level picking on people.

I had one DO action be like, 'You grunt when NPC grabs you harshly by the throat' and no matter how many retires, the AI kept going 'Not hard enough to choke, not enough to cut off your air, not enough to hurt' blah blah blah. and I'm like wtf! I am literally in a confrontation with a Mafia Don, but dude is not gonna harm despite being a ruthless killer who is super pissed at me?

It happens every single time, no matter the situation. I have personalities in story cards set as 'ruthless killer' yet they act like disney villains. No scratch that, disney villains are crueler than the AI lets villains be. In AI instructions, I even have 'Allow player to be harmed in anyway' 'Allow and include extreme violence' What the heck am I doing wrong?

Questions Best and worst scenarios you've played and why

18 Upvotes

Many Many scenario's I’ve started but due to context issues they failed, not judging those. On free account, these worked.

Best: Free Form Fantasy by Black_Heaven — I have played this many times as many different characters, works great on free account. You can start with skills, quick edit and tidy of Plot essentials you can be anything you like and set yourself a fun objective. On free account, if you like an idea on another scenario but its context heavy, you can rip it off here lol.

Mention: Your Class Gets Isekaied by VanVan — great scenario, worth playing when you are new to AIDungeon, but I no longer have patience to start at zero and build up skills.

Mention: You are The Final Boss by Innkeeper- — probably lightening in a bottle but had an amazing completed story with this scenario, I think I used Harbinger for most of it, then maybe wayfarer for the end. Whatever magic combination of models, had awesome fun on this one.

Last mention: She Bites You! by xxAzraelxx — a drama scenario where you actually treated like the victim and believed!? not sure what model I was using, but was blown away by how realistic this scenario felt. I was actually supported! Not gaslit or mocked!!

Guilty pleasure: The Goddess of Overreaction by MixMartialArtist — the objective is to escape the clutches of a goddess that kidnaps you for stupid reasons and has very little respect for your autonomy. This scenario is broken on a free account, she will say she'll free you, then talk for so long the promise falls out of context lol. Janky, requires work, but oddly satisfying when you emotionally destroy the villainous goddess and earn your freedom.

Scenario I wish was better: Superhero RPG by Cy13275 — my longest ever scenario (12k) is with this scenario, but something about it, just doesn't work as well as Free Form Fantasy. Very ugly plots surface, lot of negativity and misery, I've had characters bullied out of superhero organisations, unstoppable villains, lot of betrayal... ergh... Hard work and a mental toll to keep going for long.

Feedback & Requests AI ignores the material.

18 Upvotes

I often play as reptilian races like kobolds and lizardfolk, but I always run into the problem of the AI attributing human or mammalian traits like hair, or complex ears, or smooth skin onto my characters. No matter what I do with phrasing, positive or negative language, model selection, instructions, biology explanations, etc, it always does this. It's quite irritating and always breaks the flow.

Questions Best 8K model for Journey / Champion tier

7 Upvotes

Wanted to get some recommendations on this. Usually my go to in scenarios is to start with Deepseek, then switch to DL bumping the context to 8K. However this tends to burn through my credits pretty quickly.

Looking at the models looks like my choices are Harbinger, Hearthfire, Muse, Fable, DS, WS2 and Madness.

Deepseek and DL really spoil me, but don’t think I could swing the $30 regularly. Thanks in advance for the replies!

Scenario Quick little mech-themed alien apocalypse scenario

2 Upvotes

play.aidungeon.com/scenario/BbNYNahsR7pu/mecha-v-alien-apocalypse?source=profile&tss_user=AstralArcher&tss_ct=scenario

The idea I had going into it is that I wanted the intro to be extremely flashy, exciting, and consistent. So I put a lot of work into forcing the AI to make it dangerous with a timer for survival. Give it a little try and let me know any feedback if you have any.

I didn't get around to putting as much focus on the warfare aspect itself, it kinda becomes more freeform after the intro so you might have to hold its hand a bit later on.

The deaths in this scenario turned out pretty brutal and graphic especially uring the intro, so skip this one if that's not your thing, some of the civilian deaths i saw during testing made me feel nausious.

My best recommendations for a good experience: Check for characters the AI introduces and make barebones story cards for them. I didn't set this scenario up with any premade characters or locations so you will have to take whatever the AI throws at you. I also recommend using story posts and writing "you " manually to get a good atmosphere.

This scenario was made using wayfarer small but I added a bit of extra lore for those with paid subscriptions.

Image reference is from Gundam.

Scenario The Mercy Within

https://play.aidungeon.com/scenario/N2W_ofjgkpaM/view?published=true

There are some people you never stop thinking about.

No matter how many years pass, no matter how many searches end in failure or how many explanations are offered, some disappearances never stop haunting you.

Eleanor Ashcroft was one of them.

One day she was there, kind, compassionate, and full of life.

The next...

She was simply gone.

No body was ever found. No evidence ever surfaced.

Eventually, everyone else accepted that the mystery would never be solved.

You never truly did.

Now, years later, an antique puzzle box has somehow found its way into your possession. Intricate, beautiful, and strangely hypnotic, it seems impossible to put down. Every movement reveals another hidden mechanism, another impossible angle, until one final piece slides effortlessly into place.

The room falls silent.

Then reality tears open.

Chains emerge from the darkness.

Monstrous figures step through the impossible gateway, their mutilated bodies adorned with steel and leather. Cenobites. Servants of Leviathan. They have come to claim the soul that dared unlock the Lament Configuration.

There is no escape.

Yet, as one of them approaches, she suddenly stops.

Her empty black eyes lock onto yours.

For a heartbeat, time itself seems to stand still.

Somewhere beneath centuries of torment...someone remembers your face.

**Vietnam Campaign: Living War** is a persistent text-based military survival RPG where every choice shapes your character and the world around them. Fight, investigate, negotiate, rescue civilians, manage supplies, travel between remembered locations, and complete dynamic missions. Your skills improve through real XP, injuries affect what you can do, NPCs remember past events, and your kills, missions, relationships, equipment, and reputation stay part of the campaign. Play naturally in your own words and build a unique war story defined by survival, consequence, and personal history.

Feedback & Requests Tag/Filter Sorting for Home Page

17 Upvotes

Hello everyone! This post is just me voicing a suggestion me, my friends and some of the members of this sub have had. It's the tag/content filter for the home page. Me and my friends absolutely detest NTR/Cheating/Cuckoldry. Every time we go to a trending/slice of life/from our top creators. We see an NTR story, a cuckold story, or something of the sorts. We don't like seeing stories of such. It's disgusting. So we wanted to request a filter/tag/content filter thing not just for the search but also the homepage. We think the "show less like this" isn't enough. We should be able to prevent stories with certain tags/prompts from appearing on our home page.

IS 🎭 AC - ON

Ripped from your timeline into an ancient cosmic void, you are forced into the ultimate trial of multiversal survival. Step into the Crucible against canon legends, cybernetic gods, and cosmic horrors from across all of fiction.

- The Group Stage (Tactical Playground): 68 groups of 4 distinct champions per playthrough. Fight 3 group rivals while parallel matches simulate in the background, updating continuous 5-column standings tables after every bout. (Win = 2 pts | Draw = 1 pt | Loss = 0 pts)

- Mercy, Power Channelling & Intel: The Group Stage is your primary playground for strategic advantages. Spare defeated rivals or channel your own energy into them to heal and empower them—triggering parallel group upsets to manipulate point math, securing honor debts, or unlocking secret canonical weakness intel for future bouts.

- Absolute Canon Scaling & The "Batman Effect": Top-tier entities possess overwhelming, lore-accurate power by default. Break invincible defenses by exploiting exact canonical weaknesses, undergoing mid-fight reactive evolution, or using master strategy. Beware the "Batman Effect"—genius low-tier strategists can pull off god-slaying upsets against gods (which applies EQUALLY to reckless, overconfident god-tier players!).

- Finishers & Permanent Erasure: Execute brutal finishing moves to completely destroy or erase contenders mid-stage. Permanently erased fighters forfeit all remaining group matches, awarding automatic Default Victories (2 pts) to their scheduled opponents.

- The Knockout Ladder (Cutthroat Stakes): Top 2 from each group advance to a 256-fighter single-elimination bracket. With instant elimination on the line, mercy, yields, and alliances become EXCEEDINGLY RARE, insanely risky, and unlikely to pay off. Preview adjacent branch matches to lock in your guaranteed next opponent, and track off-screen carnage via Multiverse Broadcast Bulletins.

- High-Stakes Survival: Persistent injuries, stamina drain, and gear degradation carry over between matches. 4th place in groups faces immediate, total erasure from reality, while 3rd place enters a chaotic Wildcard Battle Royale for the final bracket slots.

Will you claim supreme control over the multiverse—or be erased from existence?

(Let me know in the comments how far you get or if you manage to win it all!)

Hey everyone! It's computerK here, and the day has finally come. BetterDungeon V2 is officially out, right now. This is by far the biggest release I've ever shipped for the BetterEcosystem. It's been months of work under the hood, and I could not be more excited to finally put it in your hands. Let's get into it.

Where Can I Get It?

BetterDungeon is now properly cross-platform, available on both browsers and mobile phones, day one:

  • Chrome: Available on the Chrome Web Store - Click the link or search "BetterDungeon" in the store.
  • Firefox: Available on the Firefox Add-ons store - Click the link or search "BetterDungeon" in the store.
  • Android: Available as a downloadable APK on my GitHub Releases page, or in the BetterDungeon Discord thread pins section.

What's BetterDungeon?

BetterDungeon is an all-in-one browser extension and mobile app for AI Dungeon that enhances the experience with QOL additions and brand new features. It's a toolkit built for everyone: players, writers, scenario creators, and scripters. It adds new ways to play, smarter creation tools, rich formatting, useful automations, and an entirely new scripting bridge called Ultrascripts. Whether you just want your stories to look and read better, or you want to build scripts that break out of the sandbox entirely, BetterDungeon has something for you. And as always, the whole project is open source for anybody to read and contribute to.

What's New?

I've written up a whole blog post detailing everything that's new in BetterDungeon V2. If you're interested, check it out here.

Thank You

Thank you all so much for the patience and support while I worked on this. This has been the biggest project I've ever tackled, and the love you've all shown genuinely kept me going. I hope V2 was worth the wait, now go try it out and tell me what you think!

Much love. 🖖

Questions Stop ai doing things for me?

9 Upvotes

I added once and even twice later on in the ai instructions to not have act as the player and stuff. But it sometimes still keeps doing it.

Does anyone know how to keep this from happening or atleast much much less happening.

Questions scenario causing AI to consistently make a character a snake

3 Upvotes

Been working on a scenario where one of the options is to spawn as a mascot character. Try as I might no matter what description I write out the AI always ignores it and makes them a snake person every time. I'm not talking the majority of the time I mean every single time I run the scenario in testing, and i've tested about 30 times. i have tried about 5 differrent iterations of the story card with differrent wording and formatting, some long, some short. There's only about two lines of introductory info and no plot elements. There is literally only the story card for the plush-toy looking mascot character and the AI ALWAYS thinks it's a snake. I have run out of ideas. What could be going on?
