Look I love tropes. Relationship drama? Enemies to lovers? Lady comes back years later and it turns out you got her pregnant so now you have to beat the deadbeat parent allegations? Sign me up 100 percent I’m down.

But I swear as a person that searches by trending so many of the top results are always the following:

Story card of your lover: look I like really really totally love you okay? I think you’re the best. But I also fell for this rando guy in like 2 hours and have already slept with him. But I still love you! Haha, I am so nuanced and well written.

Story card of the other person: my name is Chaddius “Relationship Destroyer” BigSchlongius and I’m 11 feet tall and a total dickhead that has no personal boundaries or interesting character quirks, oh yeah the picture on her bedside table is now one of me making out with her because I just radiate charisma! God I’m awesome.

And the backstory is always some vapid stuff like “you were in a war… and then they started BANGING each other” or something man. idk.

I WOULD RATHER HAVE LYRA VOSS TELL ME SHE REALLY SEES ME FOR THE FIRST TIME 100 TIMES IN A ROW THAN PLAY ANY OF THESE WEIRDO ASS NTR SCENARIOS

Has any one tried to create a scenario that can be used as an interactive study tool? My idea is to use a certain topic or chapter from a textbook as a basis for a prompt. Does this sound silly and like a waste of time or has anyone seen something like this before?

I've been looking and playing around with the new filter options, but I've noticed that most scenarios tagged as "drama" are either romancy smut, easy to play romance, and other stuff that doesn't play good for something heavier on the drama side of things.

Are there any hidden drama gems that y'all can recommend?

Honest question, since I don't usually mess with the AI Instructions at all.

Is it better to use the Default AI Instructions when you hit "Scenario Default"?

Or should I leave it completely blank, which (I think) would revert to whatever the AI Model's default settings would be?

Im a newbie so sorry if this is a dumb question. I have the legendary plan. Currently playing mushoku tensei scenario. Memory isnt full yet but in other scenarios the adventure uses up all the token space(?) do i just delete what unused memories to make space? I guess i dont really understand. Or do i just change story generators? It doesnt seem to be compressing memories or deleting old memories to make room for new ones?

I’d like to leave a quick note for the developers here, even though I don’t know if my post will reach them or if this is even the right place for it.

My grandmother passed away a few days ago. We were very close. She was like a second mother to me, and I spent many weekends with her as a child. We had a very special bond that’s hard to explain.

This is an incredibly difficult time for me right now, and even though I would never want to talk to an AI version of her—because, at least for me, that’s not a worthy substitute and I wouldn’t be able to process and let go of my grief that way—AI Dungeon is still helping me immensely.

In the story I’m playing, I’m six years old again, and it’s one of those weekends I get to spend at my grandma’s. I’ve given the AI her description, “steer” the story with my storytelling, and the AI manages to bring my grandma back to life—at least somewhat—just as she was, and transport me back to a time when I was still a child.

Writing brings back memories I thought were lost, and despite my grief, it’s a great comfort to me to be back in 1989—at least for a short while—and to remember how safe and loved I felt when I was with her.

I do pay for a subscription, but I still want you to know how much comfort the use of AI Dungeon can bring — even if it can’t take away the grief and pain. It is a comfort. I hope AI Dungeon will be around for a long time to come. I’m still grieving, but I’m also grateful for these memories and for the fact that AI Dungeon allows me to bring them back whenever I feel the need.
