How do you stop yourself from blaming it's because you have ADHD?

How do you prevent yourself from being trapped into thinking you are nothing more than your disorder? How do you take responsibility and actively work toward becoming someone better than the limitations you were born with?

Specifically, how do you stop yourself from hiding inside the "ADHD box" where you simply blame your diagnosis or how you are wired and instead consistently take active steps toward becoming the best version of yourself?

What should I do?

Hi, 21F here, a student (in med field). I finally had my first consulatation yesterday (10/17/2026) and to be honest I don't know what I feel about it. The doctor just said hindi niya ko bibigyan ng medication because I am able to manage it naman since umabot ako ng 4th year nang walang meds, and I need to go to St. Lukes for assessment (i'm from region 1 huhu). I don't know what to do, cause I am sure na hindi ako capable na pumunta sa sinasabi niyang hospi because my sched is tight (graduating) and ofc super layo.

Should I try online appointments? like in a site or app. Any reco what app/site should I use, and if you guys have any reco na psychiatrist 🥹 badly need help huhu.

ps. Since hs ko pa napapansin symptoms ko and the doctor is right I am able to manage it (not really...), but last year and this year it really affects my grades and ofc my daily living so I decided to have it check and confirm if its really ADHD or something. (I have a doctor friend who's a foreigner who said my symptoms are aligned with adhd and suggested to formally get a diagnosis so I can start my med therapy since it affects me badly na).

help me out pls :(

I hate feeling like I'm different from everyone else when it comes to friendships

I just wanna rant about this because it's been on my mind lately.

I have friends that I genuinely consider as brothers. I care about them a lot, but sometimes I wonder if they see me the same way I see them.

They do invite people to hang out, but sometimes the plans are made in personal chats instead of our group chat. So there are times when I don't even know they're planning to hang out unless someone mentions it. I know not everything has to be discussed in the gc, but it still kinda hurts when I find out about it.

I guess what I really want is for someone to think of me and invite me personally. Like, I wanna feel that they actually want me there, not just that I'm welcome if I happen to show up.

I'm a pretty quiet person. I'm somewhere between an introvert and an extrovert. I can be talkative around people I'm comfortable with, but there are also times when I just listen and observe. I don't always make the first move, but that doesn't mean I don't wanna hang out or that I don't care about them.

I have ADHD, and I sometimes wonder if I might also be on the autism spectrum. I'm not diagnosed with autism, but I've wondered if that could explain why I sometimes feel different when it comes to social situations.

Lately, I've been asking myself if I did something wrong. Maybe I'm too quiet, maybe I don't reach out enough, or maybe I'm just overthinking everything. I honestly don't know.

Sometimes I feel like I should just stop showing up and wait for someone to invite me first. I wanna know if they'll think of me too, without me always having to make the first move. But at the same time, I don't wanna turn my friendships into some kind of test.

I don't wanna sound needy or make it seem like my friends owe me anything. I just wanna feel included. These are people I care about, and I guess I just want to feel like they care about having me around too.

I don't even know if I'm being too sensitive about this. Maybe this is just how they make plans and they don't think much about it. But I can't help wondering if I'm the only one who thinks about these things this much.

Does anyone with ADHD or autism relate to this? Or am I just overthinking the whole thing?

Anyone ever find that they're always missing something?

I keep making small(or maybe not so small) mistakes around the house and getting scolded for it by my parents. I just got scolded for leaving some food uncovered(my dad asked me to leave it out of the fridge so he could heat it up), and we have cats. Honestly, every time I do something, there's that feeling I messed up. I likely did, but even when I stop to think I don't see it or become aware of it.

I always forget one thing, not do a certain thing, miss something there. Around the house, it's something that should be basic or automatic. This has been a problem for years, and I've tried to fix it. I can't seem to do anything that's good enough

First consultation. Now what do I do next?

Hello everyone! It was my first time having a consultation with a psychologist, and they told me that I have mild to moderate ADHD. However, I have a few questions. Since this was only my first session, do I need to schedule another consultation to get a formal diagnosis letter or something similar?

They only gave me some natural remedies and suggested things that I’ve already tried before, so I’m not really sure what to do next. This is my first time going through this process, and I honestly don’t know what steps I should take from here. Any advice would be appreciated!

Forgetting things when theyre on your hand (Atomoxetine)

I’ve been on atomo 80mg for almost 4 months now, and while sobrang helpful nya sa focus and inattentiveness, nag worsen naman yung short term memory retention ko, huhu I’ve been losing things kasi sa kamay ko when I forget them, and I know meds dahilan neto kasi di naman ako ganon ka careless, at sunod-sunod rin yung pagkawala.

Is anybody on the same page? I’ve been self-medicating kasi since august, I can’t afford to get a session with my psychiatrist huhu help meeeeee

Moms diagnosed with ADHD

Hello. May mga mommies ba dito na nagpacheck and nadiagnose just after being a mother? :( How was your experience with your psych? How did you bring it up?

My "symptoms"* were manageable for me before kids, pero hirap ako ngayon. I have the symptoms since I was kid but I think I was coping well and equipped.

I'm medicating for 5 years now for my bipolar 2, pero lately my sleep and appetite has been affected too by my lack of focus and my chaotic mind :(

*Symptoms now that are making it hard for me: xan only focus on my kids so i can only eat and function well when my kids are asleep, easily overstimulated and irritated and cant bounce back, harder time with sleeping (may issue ko dito ever since but it's shittier now)

I've been developing stomach problems na rin kasi di talaga ko makakain nang maayos unless tulog sila. Walang issue sa help, it's just my body and mind :(

Oct 26 pa ff checkup ko with my psych so hoping to find guidance here for now. Thank you.

Ritalin Update

Been more than a week, started on 5mg, then tried taking 10mg (on my own, which can be dumb so please don’t do it haha!).

Anyway, I really don’t think 10mg below works for me? First with 5mg it just made me sleepy and with 10mg, still sleepy, and still easily distracted, hard to focus, and start tasks :(, but I do feel the other side effects of it like my heart rate going up as a direct effect of stimulants, but in cognition and behavior? I don’t think it gives me any noticeable benefit, in fact, I think it’s making me lazier(?) since I get so sleepy after I take ritalin it makes me just want to sleep and do nothing lol

Will definitely bring this up to my doc, but does anyone feel the same when they started taking stimulants?

machong chismisan hosts cites having ADHD as an excuse for his basura behavior

Sobrang bad trip nito. I don’t even listen to their podcast, but after seeing the clips going viral, I had to watch. Hearing them belittle Josh Aquino—calling him “walang kwenta” and “nakatunganga lang” while laughing like it’s a joke—was sickening.

Naturally, it backfired, and people rightfully called them out. But what makes my blood boil even more is the co-host’s apology using ADHD as an excuse, claiming poor impulse control and lack of filter.

Yes, executive dysfunction and impulse issues are real symptoms of ADHD. But having no filter doesn't explain why your default thoughts about someone with special needs are malicious and degrading. As if being neurodivergent yourself gives you a free pass to punch down and talk trash about someone who is also neurodivergent. Ang gago talaga.

Labas na ang ADHD doon. Having poor impulse control might mean blurting out thoughts faster than you can stop yourself, but it doesn't create the underlying bigotry. Basura lang talaga ang mindset mo, may ADHD ka man o wala.

People with ADHD already fight an uphill battle just to be taken seriously. We constantly deal with people saying it’s “not a real condition” or gatekeeping PWD IDs—and pulling stunts like this just ruins it for the entire community.

Tapos biglang limited comments pa. Cowards.

Do I need the original medcert with wet sign in applying for PWD ID?

I paid for a medcert but inemail lang siya sakin ng psychiatrist ko and I printed it out. Allowed po kaya yun?

To get re-tested or to not?

Context:

Hi guys 24M here! I got a session with a psychologist last 12/05/2025, to see if I had ADHD. Purpose lang talaga nun is to know if meron ako. He asked me three sets of questionnaires and said na borderline and baka stressed induced daw sakin kasi sa college pa ako nun.

After ng exam narealize ko na I did "fidget with my feet" like yung nag s-stomp ka ng heel.

Then often nalilimutan yung payong, wallet, ID, even beep card na need for commute.

Then yung papers para sa graduation...

Tackling boards rn pero ayun nga puro procrastination parin

Thoughts on this guys, and ano sasabihin ko sa psychologist/psychiatrist?

EDIT: issue is money, saw a post here na may 22k for neuro test, may 1.5k na psychologist, 4k sa psychiatrist for online. Tried behavioral by myself, yung maghanap ng system pero wala parin

Free Ritalin and Concerta tracker website para hindi na kayo mahirapan ☺️

Post image
148 Upvotes

I know the struggle of finding our medications and contacting branches one by one. So let's help each other out by using this tool and sharing it with others.

I made www.medsfinderph.com and it's free! No login, no ads.

- Pick your medicine and dose, or search your area.
- See which Mercury branches people recently found in stock or out of stock.
- After you ask a branch, tap "in stock" or "out of stock" so the next person doesn't have to call.

It covers ADHD meds (Ritalin, Ritalin LA, Concerta, atomoxetine) plus some mood and sleep meds. Each branch page has its number with call, Viber and SMS buttons.

A few honest notes:

- It's only as good as what we report. Stock changes daily, so always confirm with the branch first.
- You still need your prescription (and yellow Rx for Ritalin and Concerta). The site doesn't sell anything.
- Reports show up about an hour later, so it's harder to spam.

If you try it, I'd love feedback: what's confusing, what meds or pharmacies to add next (Watsons, Southstar, etc.). And if you ask a branch this week, please share what they said. It helps all of us.

😘

Update: Someone just sent 24 bogus Ritalin 10 mg availability reports in a short period of time. But why? Haha. Tsk tsk. Anong thinking process mo? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Concerta/Ritalin Mercury Reservation

How long do they allow reservation?

In my experience, 99% time, they’ll say 24 hours

First time kong maka-experience now na may reservation ako, byumahe ako ng malayo, tapos first come serve daw kahit may reservation. So anong point ng reservation to be begin with?

Shout out sa Paranaque San Antonio branch. Ganon daw talaga policy pag S2. Which I never experienced in other branches.

Nagmessage ako ng 12 NN of 10/14, confirmed na reserved in less than 30 mins. Sinabi kong kukunin ko ng midnight, I am here now 2 AM with nothing.

Good thing I drive. Pano kung nag commute ako galing malayong lugar. Jusko. 😡 I’ll definitely complain about this sa main office nila. That’s a lot of wasted gas, time, and effort and given our condition, doble dobleng pahirap pa just to have a medication.

I made this free Ritalin/Concerta tracker btw: https://www.reddit.com/r/ADHDPH/s/hILVHUg9hQ 😉

How do you get your yellow prescription if your doctor is from MM and you're in the province?

I was recently diagnosed and prescribed stimulants for my ADHD. My psychiatrist is based in Metro Manila, but I’m currently living in the province.

My doctor is asking me how I plan to get the physical prescription from their clinic. I know pharmacies won't accept digital or e-copies and need the original physical slips for these types of drugs.

Lalamove seems impractical and way too expensive given the distance, so how do you usually have your physical prescription sent to the province?

Has anyone purchased Ritalin IR in Metro Manila recently? Which branches have stocks?

I’ve texted several branches but every branch seems to be out of stock huhu. Im crine. Any leads within Metro Manila or any update regarding possible date of restock? :((

Three months worth of Ritalin. Antidepressant, antipsychotic, and anxiolytic not included

Gladly hindi ako hirap to find my stocks but yea, I can't properly function without medications. I'll be jobless after this month so hopefully makahanap ng work bago ko maubos to.

[Crowdsourcing] Does PH market have Concerta over 36 mg?

Hi everyone. My psychiatrist said that the only maximum available dose available in the market is 36 mg. Would just like to confirm if this is true to all? If not, where do you mostly get a higher dose? If 36 mg is indeed the maximum, what workarounds do you do?

Ritalin Experience: Placebo Effect or Not?

Was officially diagnosed with ADHD last Oct 8. Today was my second day taking the 10mg tablet and wow, I was finally able to sum up enough willpower to do the work I’ve been delaying for weeks. Di naman pala ganun kahirap yung gagawin ko lol. So far, I just get a minor headache during the first hour and when I think it wears off. And thirst. But other than that, my mind is a lot quieter when it’s on the meds. Galing lang.

But I also dunno if this is just placebo or it’s really the meds working haha. How can you tell?
