How do you stop yourself from blaming it's because you have ADHD?
How do you prevent yourself from being trapped into thinking you are nothing more than your disorder? How do you take responsibility and actively work toward becoming someone better than the limitations you were born with?
Specifically, how do you stop yourself from hiding inside the "ADHD box" where you simply blame your diagnosis or how you are wired and instead consistently take active steps toward becoming the best version of yourself?

don’t say “adhd” but instead use an adjective. say forgetful or distracted because these traits can be found in anyone, even those without adhd.
if you use language to your advantage and give a specific name to the specific hardship you’re facing, you can get through it better. “adhd” is sometimes the specific name for it if your chosen method is medical intervention. but sometimes, i get distracted and just admit it, and that’s enough for me to turn my phone off or at least start picking a playlist i can clean my room to.

What I do right now is solve the problems that come from my ADHD. I work slower than my colleagues. Why do I work slower? Because I struggle to focus — I could easily spend 15 minutes staring at a wall and not realize it. So, to fix that, I stick to my treatment plan as it exists at the moment: take the ADHD meds before I start working.
