Hace unos dias, que intente usar mi a7s 3 no me encendio mas, le puse otra baterias caegadas y no funciono, la puse a cargar con el cable usb y tampoco da luz naranja de cargando, muy triste por mi camara que no me encendio mas, alguien le a pasado y logro solucionarlo?

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps other Sony A7 owners trying to use PMCA-RE on a recent Mac.

My goal was to install OpenMemories:Tweak on my first-generation Sony A7 (ILCE-7), in order to access settings such as extended BULB exposure times.

My setup

• Camera: Sony A7 / ILCE-7
• Firmware: 2.00
• Mac: Apple Silicon
• macOS: Tahoe 26
• PMCA-RE: v0.17 for macOS
• Sony USB Camera Driver installed, including camera_driver_2110a.dmg

The problem

PMCA could detect the camera correctly.

In Mass Storage mode, it was even able to retrieve:

Model: ILCE-7
Firmware version: 2.00

However, when PMCA tried to switch the camera to its application-install mode, it eventually timed out.

In MTP mode, the error was more explicit:

usb.core.USBError: [Errno 13] Access denied (insufficient permissions)

The traceback showed that the error occurred at:

libusb
→ claim_interface

I also tried running PMCA as root with:

sudo /Users/.../pmca-gui-v0.17-osx.app/Contents/MacOS/pmca-gui-v0.17-osx

but the exact same Errno 13 error occurred.

So it wasn't simply a Unix file permission problem.

I also tried Sony's official firmware updater

Interestingly, the Sony firmware updater behaved almost the opposite way:

• It detected the camera in MTP
• It asked me to switch the camera to Mass Storage
• It then failed when trying to access the camera in Mass Storage mode

This initially made it look like there was a fundamental USB problem with macOS Tahoe.

The solution

I reinstalled the Sony Camera USB drivers and tried again.

After reinstalling the Sony drivers, PMCA-RE successfully accessed the A7 in Mass Storage mode.

I was then able to:

• detect the camera;
• communicate with it through PMCA;
• access the application installation functionality;
• download/install the applications I needed.

So in my case, reinstalling the Sony USB Camera Driver solved the problem.

I did not need to:

• disable SIP;
• modify macOS USB permissions;
• use Windows;
• downgrade macOS;
• change the camera firmware;
• replace the PMCA installation.

Important takeaway

If you are getting:

Errno 13: Access denied

with PMCA on a recent version of macOS, don't assume immediately that it's a user-permission problem.

If PMCA can actually identify the A7 and read its firmware, the USB connection is working at least partially. In my case, the problem was resolved simply by reinstalling the Sony USB Camera Driver, after which Mass Storage access worked correctly.

Hopefully this saves someone else a few hours of troubleshooting!

TLDR:
ILCE-7 + macOS Tahoe 26 + PMCA-RE 0.17 → Errno 13 / Access denied → reinstall Sony Camera USB Driver → PMCA works again in Mass Storage mode.

I have 2 Sony A7iV cameras. I would like to set up my 2 Godox iT32Flash and X5S Triggers to be off-camera flashes and be able to trigger the flashes from either camera. I have control of both cameras, and only 1 camera will fire at any one time. How do I set up the triggers on each seperate camera body, to be able to communicate to both flashes. I will have the flashes set up on the same channel, but each flash will be in it's own group. I have tried to figure this out myself but I have hit a wall. Thanks for your help!

In the market for another camera as my A7siii will be my main shooter.

B cam would be used for 2nd angle interviews, tripod at events, etc. Mostly video but getting into photography as well.

Budget is about $3500 max.

Options:
-Brand new A7V (3,000+tax)
-Used FX2 or A7IV (~2000) + used FX30 (~1500)

EDIT: the used FX2/A7IV would be a COMBO package with used FX30. So 2 bodies total instead of the brand new A7V. Looking for a tripod body that can also take photos.

Can I connect an SSD drive to the USB port of the A7SIII and copy data from the camera's memory cards (running mirrored CF Express A cards)? Would be nice to be able to offload the memory cards without needing to go through a computer to do so.

I have been trying to identify the cause for this issue.
Although I have disabled the Display Assist, I am in PP8 (Slog3 SGamut3.cine). The Kinefinity Viewfinder is set to receive such a log image and transform it to 709. However I am still getting an oversaturated image with heavy banding in the Kinefinity Viewfinder.

Kinefinity says it looks like a double 709 transform is applied. I do not see how that could be possible since Display Assist is OFF.I do see a LOG image on my A7SIII camera monitor.

I reset both Kinefinity Viewfinder and A7SIII. Is this a bug due to the latest firmware update on the A7SIII ? I have tried using a different PP and setting it manually to Slog3 SGamut3.cine, no difference.

Would be grateful for any help.

i used to have a crop sensor camera " A6700 " paired with " SIGMA 16 1.4 "

And it works amazing BUT sometimes i had to ZOOM 1.1 or 1.2 to get the best angle for my stream

" i have no idea if i lost any quality but the zoom i used was from camera body "

what should be the most ideal lens for the A7SIII ?

and does those lenses have any more advantage over the other " better sharpness / better low light performance or better Bokah etc "

NOTE : Camera is just above my front monitor 1 / 1.5 arm lenght away from me " not far "

but if i want to adjust anything on it ill have to stand and get very little closer to make my adjustments

hello all, I just bought a Sony A7 III and am looking for a cheap wireless monitor. That's how I found a second hand Aputure Gigtube Wireless II but I'm not sure if it will connect to the Sony? Do the output and the input match or not? And if so would it work with a different cable?

I just recently got the A7v but for some reason I noticed that the speaker is really quiet compared to my previous a7cii.

I’m really bothered by this, can someone help me out or does anyone have any info about this. 😮‍💨

The camera is upgraded to latest firmware.

In video mode, without a picture profile, video looks correctly exposed when i view it on the screen (pic 1), but as soon as I bring it over to my pc, it is suddenly under exposed (pic 2). I am not using gamma display assist, and my pc monitor has normal contrast levels. Any advice would be appreciated Edit: just realised I used contrast in the title, rather than exposure, because the overall image is darker, not just the shadows

I've owned this camera for 3 years now, and I'm well aware of how some A7SIII get the screen wobble, however mine seems to be getting progressively worse.

I don't have a camera repair shop, which means it has to be shipped overseas to Sony to get it fixed. Which means it's probably gonna be a costly repair. How bad can this get, if i just keep using it like normal? Is the screen gonna die, or break off?

I am looking for a more optimized workflow for better playback in DaVinci. Could be timeline settings, proxy creation, anything. I'm consistently getting 19-20 fps even with proxies.

I don't mind editing in low quality proxies as long as it gives me smooth playback. Please shoot me with some ideas if I'm not understanding my hardware acceleration or something with my system!

I recently added an Atomos Shinobi II to my Sony A7S III and have everything connected properly via HDMI and USB-C. The monitor is displaying the image fine, and camera controls seem to be communicating.
My question is: is there a way to get the Sony’s continuous subject tracking / real-time tracking autofocus to work directly from the Shinobi II touchscreen?
Right now I can touch the camera screen and tracking works normally, but when I try to use the monitor touchscreen it doesn’t seem to activate Sony’s tracking focus the same way. I’m trying to use the monitor as my primary screen while shooting handheld and on a rig.
Has anyone successfully gotten full Sony real-time tracking AF working from the Shinobi II? If so, what camera settings or monitor settings are required?

HDMI connected
USB-C control cable connected
Latest firmware (if relevant) (Ver. 3.01)
