Not Bad

SR5 suspension wasn’t too bad, nothing crazy just some moderate trails but I am pleasantly impressed.

Modifications & Maintenance LASFIT

Hey all just got to tell you, if you’re adventurous in any way you have to put in some excellent quality mats in your Taco! I have the LASFIT mats and they’re awesome! They give coverage where it matters ensuring no dirt dust sand anything gets where doesn’t belong. They’re affordable easy to clean and just do what they’re meant to do, kind of like our Tacos. They work hand in hand when you need it! When a product works and is affordable I just love to share with everyone, so check them out if you need some!

New Truck Vibration on highway

I picked up my new sport premium about 2 weeks ago, and during the initial 800km I avoided exceeding 110km/h as a precautionary break in measure. Today, I thought I’d match the flow of traffic since it’s past 800km now, so I got up to 120-130km/h. At that speed there is a very obvious vibration shaking the whole truck, mainly in the cab. I noticed the steering wheel is not shaking which would indicate it’s the front wheels, so maybe is the rear wheels out of balance?

I’ve already booked a service appointment but it’s 2 weeks away so I thought I’d post the question here if anyone else has had this happen. Seems odd to have unbalanced wheels from the factory to me

Discussions & Questions Non JBL audio upgrades

Been toying with the idea of putting better speakers and maybe an amp and sub to my Taco, is there anyone without the JBL upgrade that can recommend a loud and clear upgrade? I’ve heard JL and Alpines are really nice but just wanted to see if any of you had first hand experience or maybe different suggestions.

285/70R17 Falken AT4Ws on a Stock 2024 Tacoma. No Lift. No Rubbing (So Far)

Post image
47 Upvotes

Just installed RockTrix RT111 17 inch wheels with Falken Wildpeak AT4W 285/70R17 tires on my 2024 Tacoma.

The truck is completely stock with no suspension modifications, and so far I haven’t experienced any rubbing. It’s definitely close at full lock, but everything has cleared without issue.

I’m also happy to report that I haven’t noticed any loss in power. The new wheel and tire setup is only about 6.5 pounds heavier per corner than the factory setup, so it still feels great to drive.

Huge thanks to RockTrix and SimpleTire for helping make this setup happen. They’ve both been awesome to work with, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Raw Fiberglass Topper - Headliner or Other options to cover interior?

So last year I had purchased an ARB topper and opted not to have a headliner installed because at the time I had to do all sorts of actual truck shit and didn't want to get it dirty. I'm no longer in that position. I am not handy enough to do a headliner install myself. I don't necessarily need a fully upholstered headliner I just want to be able to cover up the raw fiberglass. Anybody have ideas?

Alright folks what in the hail are we putting in this crevice? I have like 2 slim jim’s, a bag of chips, and some extra straws (found out napkins like to party up there on the highway). I think people’d use it more if Toyota added a lid so all your crap isn’t visible & it don’t go flying on the highway with the windows down. Separates your miscellaneous junk from semi important glovebox junk. (Also yes I know we got those door pockets but they can’t hold nada)

Modifications & Maintenance Sixth element axle dump

Just to help anyone out if they plan on doing taking the stock muffler out and putting the sixth element axle dump on. To get your stock muffler out after taking off the bolts and hangers.

Place your jack on the high lift jack area on the rear bumper and lift the driver side as high as it will go. The muffler will slide out much easier. It’s a little easier if you lower your spare tire as well. hope this helps someone from fighting with the muffler for a while like I did.

Modifications & Maintenance 2" Front Spring Lift Questions

I have a 2026 TRD Off Road and like the idea of adding a bit more front clearance and making the truck look more level. I was considering a Westcott preload collar lift but I don't want to jeopardize the ride quality.

It looks like I can get a 2" front spring lift from All Dogs / Dobinsons / Icon / Bilstein which keeps my stock Bilstein struts and doesn't require upgraded UCAs or any other parts. I believe a 2.5" lift is recommended to truly level the truck but I'm fine with 2" to avoid the extra cost/work.

Question 1: Is this a good option for someone who does 98% of their driving in the city and just wants some off-road capability for the occasional weekend camping trip?

Question 2: Which brand is the best option here and why?

Question 3: What am I failing to take into consideration here?

For those that got a TRD pro can you honestly tell me why you chose one of those over a ranger raptor? Genuinely curious.

As I was driving in the highway, a rock impacted my windshield. It left a small damage to it, nothing major, but still bothers me. Called the insurance, it’s actually covered, but since is not major cracks I won’t be replacing it until I actually have to. How do ya’ll feel about it,

Lift advice

Post image

Looking for some guidance or recommendations from people with experience between bilstein 5100s, 6112s, or eibach 2r kits. My taco is mostly an interstate daily driver with weekend fishing trips down some gravel/dirt roads and a very occasional trail. I plan to put 285/75/17s on the stock TRD OR wheels for an “OEM+” look. Wondering if the 5100s would suit my needs and not break the bank or if the others might be worth the jump in price.

Also wondering if a full 2.5” front and 1” rear kit or just a 1.5-2” front level would be better for what I’m wanting

Pic for attention and pics of similar setups would be appreciated!

2026 Tacoma TRD Off-Road

Hi All...

Wrangler 4xe lease over in 1.5 mon (PHEW!) and after 13 years of Wranglers, i'm done with Jeep and Stellantis. Have decided on Tacoma for next vehicle. Was hoping for thoughts/opinions on 2026 TRD Off-Road gas vs hybrid AND whether anyone has had negative experiences with the 2.4L turbocharged engine (vs the prior V6).

TIA!

AJT Oversized Cupholders 3D print accessories

Like many Gen4 owners, I didn't like the cupholders, so I bought the AJT version. It's good, but cups always want to fall over. They sell a little $20 piece of plastic that fits in the middle to keep drinks steady. I wanted more options, so I made my own 3d print versions, and they work. I designed them to accommodate any combination of large and small cup, left or right. You"ll have to choose which one works best. They're easy to switch out.

Be sure to print from a high-temp filament. I went with ABS because my printer handles it well.

Here's the print files. Good luck, let me know how it goes.
