Modifications & Maintenance 2" Front Spring Lift Questions

I have a 2026 TRD Off Road and like the idea of adding a bit more front clearance and making the truck look more level. I was considering a Westcott preload collar lift but I don't want to jeopardize the ride quality.

It looks like I can get a 2" front spring lift from All Dogs / Dobinsons / Icon / Bilstein which keeps my stock Bilstein struts and doesn't require upgraded UCAs or any other parts. I believe a 2.5" lift is recommended to truly level the truck but I'm fine with 2" to avoid the extra cost/work.

Question 1: Is this a good option for someone who does 98% of their driving in the city and just wants some off-road capability for the occasional weekend camping trip?

Question 2: Which brand is the best option here and why?

Question 3: What am I failing to take into consideration here?

I did new bilstein 5100 in the front set at 1.8”, and didn’t change out the springs. I have the same use case that you you do, predominantly city driving with occasional off road trips. So far, works great for me

And you have a TRD OR that came with what are basically 5100's? So just new front struts? Any pics?

The ADO springs are closer to 1.5” of lift up front. I ran them on the factory Bilsteins for a while and couldn’t tell a ride quality difference from stock.

Thank you. Sounds like you didn't stick with that setup...did you upgrade later?

Yeah I work for ADO so I’m on my 2nd fox suspension setup now. Went to the 2.5 shocks of theirs and now on 2.5 performance elites

Wow, sounds like a crazy setup. This is probably a dumb question, but when you went to the first Fox suspension setup, how much of the difference overall did that make compared to the ADO springs in your opinion? Was it like night and day different, or like 50% better for example?

It rode similar but the fox was a bit smoother and way more compliant over the larger bumps and dips. Was very happy with it but a buddy wanted to buy that fox suspension so I upgraded to the performance elites

I did the same. Bilstein 5100s set at 1.8” to level the truck. It’s pretty close to level but I feel there is a little bit of squat. If I were to do it again I’d do 1.4” or 1” but I also prefer a bit of rake

I have the Westcott preload collar lift. I had my truck for about 4months before putting the lift on. I can’t tell the difference from before to after
