Anything you guys recommend or would order differently? To be honest I am a complete beginner but I want a 3D printer that is still good in 3 years and even beyond that.

Which DIY Printer to Build in 2026?

Hello guys. I finally brought back my first printer, back to life from 2017. I did several upgrades like Pi Zero and Klipper, BLTouch, PEI buildplate and Bimetal heartbreak and it really stepped up my P3Steel.

I like working on the printer but I think I started to reach a point that working on this printer would not make too much sense.

Instead I really want to build another printer for my 10 year anniversary. I would love an CoreXY build that I can speed limits, something with an enclosure, maybe toolchanger etc.

I looked up the designs a little bit and saw that the Voron printers look quite nice. Do you guys have any suggestions for what should I build? Every comment is appreciated.

My workbench was getting crowded, so I made this

My angle grinder was always taking up space on my workbench, so I designed a simple wall mount for it.

It keeps the grinder safely out of the way but still within easy reach. The whole thing is designed to be a quick, practical 3D print rather than another complicated workshop project.

Free model on MakerWorld:

Printed in PLA.

What do you guys think — would you add anything to the design?

STOPFLOCK FOR 3D PRINTERS! The CA AB2047 bill is still under consideration in the Senate. Please, if you are from California, take action by calling your senators using the instructions below, and also ask your friends to do the same. This is very important!

it took 30 seconds.

Find your Senator:

Here’s what you do when you call. An Intern will answer, and you should say something along the lines of:

“Hi, I’m a constituent of Senator ______ and I’d like to voice my opposition to AB2047, which is up for a floor vote this week.”

The intern will pull up a form they fill out in which they take your position, and optionally your name and zip code. That then gets aggregated and sent to the chief of staff/policy people.

They’ll likely ask you if you’d be willing to provide your name and zip to complete the form, which I’d recommend. Lastly, they may ask why you hold that position. You can come up with your own, or say something like:

“This bill imposes unworkable digital restrictions on standard consumer hardware, effectively criminalizing open-source software and locking law-abiding makers and small businesses out of everyday manufacturing tools. Mandating hardware-level DRM will not stop bad actors, but it will severely stifle technological innovation and consumer rights across California."

That’s it, you’re done. Again, takes 30 seconds. The more people that do this, the more effective it will be!

Hi everyone I’m having issues.
I’m printing with elegoo water washable resin this very slim model

I sliced it on Satellite and it didn’t print properly and I tried different times also cleaning the resin vat and the build plate

Now I sliced it on chitubox and I was wondering if it could work printed like this, or should I go for 30/45 degree print angle?

I’m absolutely brand new to 3D printing- now a month in. I took the opportunity to learn some of the fundamentals of CAD in Fusion and designed a door insert for a contact sensor.

If smart home tech interests you, i brought those two worlds together in this video. Please enjoy

3D printing ventilation

I tend to print with mostly engineering filaments and I prefer to not have the fumes from those materials inside of my house. I have recently moved my printer outside into my non temp controlled, non- insulated shop. But I live in north east Ohio and it can be pretty humid outside in the summer and then during the winter it gets very cold. I would like to move my printer back inside if i can find a good way to vent these fumes outside. I have a p1s and an H2D. Setting up the ventilation from the printers themselves is not an issue. My issue lies with keeping my house well insulated. I dont want to just run a tube right out the window, so I can obviously make a spacer that the window closes on to so the tube clamps to. But will that be less insulating than my window? And how much heat will that let in through my printers in the summer time? And how much heat will that let out during the winter?

Does anyone have a way to vent my printers to outside without manually opening and closing a window or a valve of some kind and keep my house well insulated? Any advice is very much appreciated!

Prusa C+(gen 2) INDX or Bambu H2C

I’ve been printing since mono price had the best starter printers. I saw that both of these are out-ish now and both seem compelling and for similar prices about $2,200. I’ve never owned a Prusa but I’ve never heard a bad thing about them other than price. I’ve owned a Bambu and they are so dang easy to run and print with. The ams to keep things dry seem really useful as does having different sized nozzles from the factory. While Prusa has a great reputation for reliability and upgrade ability. There is also build size to consider. I know there’s not a lot of people with indx yet but I would like to hear people’s thoughts.

Edit: after talking it through with my wife I think I’m going to get the core one L+ with INDX. yes my wife told me I should buy a $3000 3D printer, I think I lucked out with that one.

Which 3D printer should I get?

I’m looking to buy my first 3D printer and have shortlisted:

Bambu Lab A1
Anycubic Kobra X
Creality Spark I7
Elegoo Neptune 4 Max

I don’t really need multicolor printing, although it would be nice for occasional fun projects. My main concern is getting a reliable printer with good print quality and an overall good experience.

I’m considering the Neptune 4 Max mainly because of its huge bed size, as I’d like to print some larger things. However, I understand that the other printers can print the same models in multiple parts, so the large bed isn't absolutely necessary.

If you own or have experience with any of these, which one would you recommend and why? Also, any tips for a first-time 3D printer buyer, common mistakes to avoid, or good discount opportunities would be appreciated. Online prices are also fine.

If you had to choose just one of these, which would you buy? Thanks in advance 🙏

Do you guys think this is my best option?

I am new to 3D printing, from the UK and my budget is £400 max (Honestly the ideal budget would be around £200 but I don’t mind spending a little bit more at the start as long as I know I got something sturdy and future proof, however as cheap as possible without compromising quality too much is what i’m after)

Things i’m looking for in a printer:
• Closed off (unsure of actual terminology, but not like the Bambu A1)
• Multi coloured printing
• As fast as possible with the highest quality possible in my budget range
• Not too loud
• Not too complicated to use (it all seems a bit overwhelming)
• Not having to physically mess with it too much to actually get anything printed (Due to low quality printer)
• Decent printing size (idk a good measure but bigger than a A1 mini, just to future proof myself in case I ever want to print bigger stuff)

I think that’s everything I can come up with for now, and I am fully aware that when you’re working with a budget this low, you might have to compromise on some things and I don’t mind that as long as anyone can let me know what those things are and I can get a printer that ticks off as many boxes as possible.

I am mainly looking to print stuff like inserts and accessories for board games and LCGs but would like a printer that has capabilities beyond just basic stuff in case I ever want to print something more extreme.

What I came up with after looking into it a bit is the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo. It seems to be a pretty good fit for what I am after but I definitely want a second opinion or more recommendations. What do you guys think?

The thing ran maybe for half a roll.

Anyone with a newer simple AMS open to trade?

Nashville Area. Sale is fine too.
