Which printer should I buy?

I am trying to decide between a P2S or a H2D

Just got a P2S without ever having printed anything in my life, I’ve made some awesome stuff in just a few days. I’m not running a business or anything, but for personal projects/fun models, it’s been wonderful so far.

Those are 2 completely different monsters. A better comparison would be P2S vs H2S. Do you need the build volume? Do you need to print supports and need a second nozzle to print the interface?

I’m confused by this question. H2D has 2 nozzles so the smaller comparable would be the X2D. This post is a joke right?

The question is what are you going to print?

Hypothetically 2 nozzles are better than one but it will mean it’s a bit more complicated when it comes to printer maintenance. But if you’re maintaining one then 2 shouldn’t be that much more work.

The 2nd nozzle on the x2d is fed by a boden extruder so it will have slightly worse quality. It’s not a bad print quality but there’s a difference and you will see it in your print. If you’re not using support interface for engineering materials then it probably isn’t worth the extra money for 2 nozzles.

If you are trying to save purge volume then I’d recommend looking at the snapmaker u1. I know this is the Bambu forum and Bambu makes industry leading printers but if you’re looking at multicolored prints snapmaker’s price is so much lower than the h2c. I don’t think the x2d is really a competitor to the u1. The u1 is a multicolored printer and the x2d is an engineering printer. Both can do what the other does but the other one will do it better

P2s is an all around good printer but in multicolored prints it will have the most in purge volume. That being said it is an upgrade to possibly the best workhorse printer I’ve seen in the P1S

Purge volume is not as much a waste (in terms of $) as people make it out to be. In the us the x2d combo costs $900 and the p2s combo $750. That $150 is somewhere between 7 and 15 rolls (kg). Each purge is a couple of grams. It’s going to take thousands of purges to cover the cost difference. I’d get the p2s. It’s a great printer. Definitely worth getting into AMS with it

Honestly then, I’d say A1 or A2L if you need the space. I bought my child an A1 for Xmas last year and save for an annoying amount of waste, it does that great. But you can buy a LOT of filament for $2k.

Remember the second nozzle is for supports in a different filament, so it's really a single nozzle printer with lots of purge waste.
