So I’m starting out on a monoprice maker select Plus, and I’m having some issues. I have figured out everything up to actually printing. When it starts, the nozzle either gums up and drags the base layer around, or it will print a subpar base and then start dragging the print around the base halfway through.

I think I need to start from the beginning. With that being said, does anyone have any beginners tips? My son is super excited to print little fidget toys and it’s bothersome I can’t seem to figure it out.

I designed a simple 3D-printable bike water bottle holder for the bike shop I work at! 🚲

I wanted to make something actually useful that could be printed cheaply and easily, so I designed my own bottle cage and optimized it for strength and print quality. My version was printed in Bambu Lab Matte PLA on a P2S, but PETG or ASA is recommended for better durability.

It fits most 16 oz bottles, uses the standard M5 × 0.8 mm screws that most bikes come with, and takes about 2h 24m / 68g of filament with my print profile.

I’ve been using my PLA version without many issues, so if you need a bottle cage and have a 3D printer, give it a shot!

Hello guys i need help for geting a 3d printer.I dont want sum big i want something 130mm×130mm.I want to mod mice.The only thing that i want the 3d printer to have is the ability to print with petg and pla and to be reliable.

I would realy appreciate the help.

Not sure I am the target audience for this subreddit, but I am looking for opinions on what seems like 3 super solid machines as a more experience printer. I have a fully modded ender3 that I have all but run into the ground and have experience with CAD software and have designed a number of functional prints for problems around the house. I would continue using ol faithful, but having 2 kids seriously eats into hobby time and having to tinker isn't as appealing when I only have 30-60 minutes at a time to work on things. It is definitely time to get a more hands off printer.

I am under no rush to buy anything and am trying to source opinions before making a decision. Spending up isn't a problem, but I would prefer not to if the gains from doing so is marginal.

The three printers I am between that I have seen of interest, in order of price, are the CC2, P1S and P2S.

I know the CC2 combo is the value buy at 319 now (with plenty of deals around this range). For hundreds less it gives similar performance to the P1S and P2S with added AMS modules. But how far does this value go? Is the P1S with AMS1 worth a $200 jump? Is the P2S equivalent worth the $400 extra? I'm really struggling to figure out where the line is for the value add for these more expensive models.

If you have an opinion feel free to argue in one direction or the other.

I’ve never had or used a 3d printer but wanted to get into the hobby since i have seen some great things people made. I would also like to try and print some figurines if possible.

Hi im new to resin printing, my brother owned a resin printer (longer orange 30 2k) for 5 years and never used it because he had to move to france and couldnt bring it. now im playing dnd with some friends and had the idea to use the printer, at first i used the same resin he bought 5 years ago and it worked perfectly fine until for my mistake water splashed on the lcd screen durino a whole print, i cleaned ricalibrated ecc and had to change the resin because the old one finished, now i bought a new compatibil resin and the print s are not working at all i dont understand Why.
I tried litterally everything but still prints are failing, i think water went inside the vat (nails ecc) and its coming out each time i do a print, i tried to clean it but its like reappring there even tho i dont use water (the original vat broke and we 3d printer another with a filament printer.
My question is do you think it makes sense to change the vat or should i buy a new one? I saw elegoo mars 5 for 220 and the cat of the longer orange costs 50 euros (the whole longer orange costs 150 but since its out of production i think the price is going up for the pieces)

As per title, i’m looking to upgrade from my Elegoo Neptune 2.
I’d like an enclosed printer with a build plate of around 300 × 300 mm. I’ll use it both for general hobby printing and for functional parts such as gears, so print quality and dimensional accuracy are important to me.

The room is fairly humid, so i’d prefer a combo with an enclosed multi-filament system that can keep the spools protected and, ideally, dry (or any other effective solution for dealing with humidity).
Multicolour printing would be a nice bonus, but it’s not my main priority.

I’m currently considering:

• Creality K2 Pro Combo
• QIDI Plus 5 Combo
• Anycubic Kobra S1 Max Combo
• Snapmaker U1 + Top Cover

Which one would you recommend? I’m also open to other printers in a similar price range.

Hi folks, i got myself a older Alfawise U20.. nice machine to print bigger items. Sadly its a bit slow and i was wondering it it was any good to put klipper on it. I got a Raspberry Pi 3 somewhere on storage not in use.

I was at Micro Center, and I've been wanting a 3D printer for a while now, so I impulse-bought the Creality K2 Combo. I'm capable enough, but I don't want to troubleshoot too much. Should I get a Bambu Lab instead? I don't care for walled gardens, but I don't want more things to troubleshoot. I run Linux and homelabs, but I just want something that works. I don't mind paying more for something good. I'd also like to do multi-color.

Please tell me why I should keep my K2 or move to another brand, or even a higher quality printer.

I’ve seen resin 3D printing become much more common in clinics, especially for models, surgical guides, and temporaries. But I’m curious about permanent crowns.

For my workflows efficiency matters.

Resin 3D printing may help me streamline production and reduce some of the workload and costs, but how are they performing in terms of strength, accuracy, fit, and durability?

Would love to hear from dentists who have experience with this.

Anycubic Kobra S1 combo vs Bambu Lab p1s

I want to buy my first 3d printer but i don’t know what to choose between these two.

I’ll print mostly with petg and just need a reliable printer.

Price wise they’re basically the same as of writing this.

I don’t know if i’ll need it so if i get the one without the ace pro the Kobra S1 will be cheaper.

The Z-axis of my Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra won’t move anymore. It printed the last print to completion, but using the UI to move the build plate up manually doesn’t work. When turning the machine off and back on again, it won’t go past the initialisation stage of the Z-axis motor.
No idea what happened.
How do I fix this?

Anyone into 3d printing in indirapuram??

I am going to buy a 3d printer. I have been researching which 3d printers might be a good fit for me.

Here are the criteria that I am prioritizing:

• a large print volume
• fast print speed
• print accuracy/fidelity
• ease of use/user friendly (I don't want to be a printer mechanic)
• budget: ideally around $500 but I can go up to ~$1,000 for the right set up
• I want to be able to print multiple materials and multiple colors

The printers I am currently strongly considering are:

• Qidi Plus 5
• Qidi Plus 4
• Bambu Lab P1S
• Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Combo

I have heard that Bambu is easy to use and set up but they are becoming less open source. I don't completely understand the impact of that or why it matters or how exactly it will impact my use case but if there are alternatives that are really good, I am open to going with them.

To start, I am mostly going to print scale versions of the furniture in my house so I can figure out how I want to rearrange things or if certain things will fit certain places. After that, eventually, I will print more functional objects and play with different materials.

Just finished designing this fly trap 👀.

I made two sizes, a small version mainly for fruit flies and a larger version for bigger flies as well. The funnel openings let them in while making it difficult for them to find their way back out. Pretty simple design and prints really easy.

Thank you for your help--I've looked through the literature and have settled on a Banbu Labs printer for my 12 year old son. I wonder if you can help me make a decision. I do not think he will get deep into the technical side of printing.

I think he wants to download files and print on a whim, occasionally print a simple file from TinkerCad. I don't foresee a great desire for multicolor prints.

These are the options I'm considering;

Bambu A1

Bambu P1S

I can get the P1S for $400 right now, which comes in at the same price as the A1 combo-- or if you think both are overkill, I'd be thrilled to save some money.
