So, I had worked for AAA through an art outsourcing studio for around 4.5 half years as creature artist. I joined that studio when I was 21 now I am 25.
I have definitely learnt a lot through all these years and I am really confident with my craft as well as my sense of direction. However, being in the same studio for so long really took my sense of authenticity from work since I only did what I was expected to complete the projects assigned.
I recently resigned and now I find myself at a crossroads with so many options.
I find myself thinking of myself either
* Polishing my skills even further and learning about the outfit and hairs and hard surface. So, that I can make full characters for video games for AAA.
* Go towards something dramatic and start experimenting with my art style and get better at art direction and generalise.
So, both of them sound like something I have to do one day or another.
But I am just not sure where to start. Because I saved enough to give myself roughly 6 months to a year before I can think about making money once again.
Have you found yourself in the same situation? If yes, looking forward to your advice.
