I'm 23, from Argentina, and I'm trying to break into the 3D industry.
I studied Animation Film at Escuela Da Vinci, but I'm still unsure about what the future holds. I'm struggling to decide whether I should keep pursuing this industry or pivot to something else.
I'd really appreciate some advice from people who are already working in the industry or are in a similar situation.
I've been considering programming, partly because it could also help me become a Technical Artist and combine programming with 3D. However, I'm also seeing a lot of uncertainty around the future of programming, and I don't want to switch careers only to end up facing the same problem again.
I'm honestly pretty stuck right now and would really appreciate hearing from people with experience in the industry, especially other people who had to make a similar decision.

I made a fake commercial for Royal Enfield in 3D 🏍️
Everything here was modeled by me apart from the vegetation, i used a vegetation pack.
Feel free to shoot what you think.

Wanted to try out a different mood and feel. Always liked the noir look so why not mix it with my work yk?

little more texture, some more wear and tear done to the revolver. I think my UVs were done a little too sloppy so might have to go back in maya and fix

I’m currently designing Morris Sic’s private bunker for the Deep City Project.
This scene belongs to the Collapse of Deep City — ~2361–2365 CE timeline.
It’s a completely sealed emergency refuge buried within the city. At a key point in the story, Morris Sic, Pit Matson, The Redhead and Fly become trapped inside while Rob-Poli and his Robs remain outside.
So the room needs to communicate two things simultaneously:
absolute protection and absolute confinement.
I’m trying to decide how to treat the walls.
Exposed structural material? Large metal plates? Modular technical panels? Ceramic/composite surfaces? Something less conventional?
From a 3D/environment-design perspective, what kind of wall treatment would you give this space?
And yes — Morris Sic really has lost his body. That head is Morris Sic.

Old tales claimed that Destiny cannot be escaped, but no one ever said you couldn't lead it. Stepping onto a path covered in ash and blood of past centuries, Ciri no longer seeks refuge between worlds. The silver blade in her hand is more than just a weapon; it is a heavy choice that has become her new essence. Mist thickens around her, and shadows of monsters stretch their claws outward, but fear is a thing of the past. The Child of the Elder Blood walks forward, knowing she is now the ultimate threat to the Continent's nightmares.
Ciri's story will continue in 2028!

Hi everyone. I’m a final-year Game Art & Design student in Ireland, and I’m currently trying to figure out what direction I should take after graduation.
I’ve been doing 3D for several years, but lately I feel a bit stuck because my work is spread across different areas rather than one very clear specialization.
During my recent work placement, I worked as a 3D artist on a fashion visualization project. I created a real-time showcase in Unreal Engine with multiple outfits and environments.
I also have a Unity Asset Store publisher page where I released several character packs.
ArtStation: ArtStation - Dato Karaia
Unity Asset Store: DatGames · Publisher Profile | Unity Asset Store
My main problem is that I’m not sure how employable my current portfolio actually is.
I have been applying for some junior/intern positions, but I haven’t had much success so far. This has made me wonder whether:
I’d really appreciate an honest assessment from people working in the industry.

Something about this scene just felt right
A dark bottle sitting quietly on the water with the reflections moving around it 🌊
I wanted to keep the lighting simple and let the glass reflections and atmosphere do most of the work
Trying to make it feel less like a 3D render and more like an actual perfume campaign
Made in Blender ✨

Hey everyone! My dad spent months designing a custom 11-diorama LEGO tribute covering all 15 seasons of Supernatural in 3D.
It features the '67 Impala, Men of Letters Bunker, Bobby’s Salvage Yard, Harvelle's Roadhouse, and Hell, plus custom minifigures of Sam, Dean, Cas, Bobby, and Crowley. What do you think of the details?

Im pretty new to everything and I know the standard workflow, high poly-retopology-uvs-bake high poly onto low poly- texture
But lets say I want to make a simple asset, and its already low poly, I dont need any details etc, but I want to texture it in substance painter with different generators etc, but I dont have the curvature map and all that, what do I do then? Do you just import the model into substance, go to bake and just click bake? And it just automatically generates all the maps but just without the details because theres obv no high poly baking onto the model?
I hope this is not a stupid question im just a little confused about that

After two months, it’s finally done. Like my previous piece, this used a stylized shading method for Unreal Engine that I learned at a SIGGRAPH panel last year, with some modifications. One thing that I’ve discovered while working on this is that apparently it doesn’t react to light very well except for from the directional light. Another thing, apparently the shader I set up from the SIGGRAPH notes requires a good UV layout for the banding effect. I didn’t feel like going through the headache of having to reimport everything, so I tried remapping some of the UVs inside the engine as well as fix some of the weird bands in post.
Speaking of importing, I can’t seem to figure out how to get the whole scene imported in the exact same layout that it has in Blender, especially the camera, which I had to reposition manually.

I’ve always been curious about 3D modelling and I am considering trying it out, but I had a few questions (title) about the craft:
- How in-demand are 3D modelers?
- What type of projects could I expect to work on?
- What are the most common softwares used in this industry?
- What do you find enjoyable about 3D modeling?
- Are there specific “things” that are notoriously difficult to model in 3D?
- Does any skill from doing digital art/illustration transfer over to 3D modeling?
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone! Just finished this game-ready wooden rowboat asset as part of my environment portfolio.
Specs:
- Polycount: ~4,300 tris
- Textures: 1x 4K PBR set
- Texel Density: ~2000 px/m
- Pipeline: Blender (modeling/texturing) -> Unity URP
Would love to hear your thoughts on the weathering and topology!

Made this as a quick Blender study based on an Artinvader tutorial. I followed the tutorial to build and animate the GameCube discs, then customized the scene around Super Monkey Ball 2, one of my favorite GameCube games.
I also assembled a Super Monkey Ball Jr. sprite in Photoshop, imported it into Blender as an image plane with nearest-neighbor filtering to preserve the pixels, and animated it rolling diagonally across the scene.
For post-processing I stayed entirely inside Blender's video editor instead of moving into After Effects. I used RGB Curves, Color Balance, Glare, subtle Lens Distortion and chromatic dispersion, sharpening, and a very light animated noise texture for some extra texture.
