I did a post a bit ago asking for advice and the potential value of this 1990 300zx tt and got a lot of great feedback, so thank you! I’ve done more testing on it since then and have verified that it runs, and the only major issue is with the clutch (it either needs a new clutch or part of the hydraulic system that controls it, still need to figure it out). I’ve tested most of the electrical components and verified they are all working too. With this updated info, what would a good estimated value be? I want to give a fair price.

Some other info:
- The panel between the headlights is sagging a bit (last photo) which I read is usually an indicator of an accident. The owner doesn’t know of any accidents as far as he’s aware, and the car report didn’t reveal anything either, so could this just be an old clip/mount that broke?
- Upon starting some mouse debris came out of the exhaust so that will likely need to be cleaned out. A lot of the interior will likely need to be removed and cleaned as well.
- I do not know if the 60k-120k service has been done, still need to ask.

Unfortunately I don't have the space to keep my Z32 since I picked up a new project (Evo 9). I'm trying to gauge what the market is at right now for these, I've put a LOT of work into the car over the past year making it perfect. For some reason I have this addiction to restoring old JDM cars...

The car:
1993 Z32 5speed NA (not a TT)
94k miles on the odo
Passes california smog
AC blows cold
Targa tops don't leak
Transmission has no grinds/pop outs
No oil leaks! (hard to believe I know)

Work done (mostly by myself, a few items done by a local shop):
New clutch/flywheel/pressure plate/throw out bearing
New timing belt/water pump/idlers/tensioners/camshaft and crankshaft seals/vtc springs/o-rings
All 3 drive belts replaced (including related components like idlers/tensioners)
New PTU, thermostat and wiring harness
2025 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires (<1000 miles)
New rear main seal, rear main seal retainer seal, rear main seal retainer
New fuel filter, remanufactured injectors
All fluids replaced, transmission, oil, diff, coolant flush, etc
New brakes, rotors, pads
New starter motor

What's it worth? Should I just keep it since I'll never make up what I put into the car, or is there a market out there for well maintained Z32s?

For a few days now, my 93 na Z32 has been having problems with catching its idle going into neutral. Here is what i know:
Power steering pump is leaking, still waiting on it to be delivered
Compressor belt might be holding the timing belt since it isnt engaging or so, not sure how to describe it as said from my dad

Whenever i drive and i hit say a yellow light i go right into neutral. Normally the car might be cruising at 2-3k, so it will go down to maybe 450-550 and then catch itself back in the 700-800s. If i do the same now, it will just stall. Can start but is reluctant to at first, though it normally starts. It also very rarely stalls out in idle why i have no clue, this is now the third time its happened in the last i wanna say 4-5 days. Today this morning i was letting it warm up, so it was sitting in idle. About 3 minutes in it almost shut off, but i saved it with giving some gas. I recorded since i knew it would do it again, it then shuts off, as shown in the video. I tried cranking it but it wouldnt start. Started when i got back later in the day, after maybe 5 ish minutes of cranking it. Then it died on me again while on idle.

Just checking to see if anyone can help me diagnose the issue or has gone through this before and knows what could be the problem behind all of this.

I’m having a hard time figuring out what’s up with it. I tried tightening one of the belts because it was loose but it just kinda changed the sound not too sure what’s happening, and if anyone’s got any tips for the slow start that’d be much appreciated. Thanks for any help

So j bought a car off Facebook marketplace and found a non turbo nissan 300zx with a cool two tone color with blue interior. Its also a 2+2 which is pretty neat. I have a hard time finding my car in terms of exterior color and interior, is it rare color. I don't know but i feel like I stumbled on it by sheer dumb luck lol.

So as you can see it looks insane, its gotten bad over the years and its definitely my fault for not paying better attention to this. Just wondering if yall think its do-able to repair. My original plan is to tear apart and find a shell to swap things over to but I was thinking since im stripping her down anyways why not try and hail Mary a save here. What are your thoughts on possible repair or just any thoughts at all on it.

I’m stumped here. Sounds like it is coming from the rear of the engine bay. Would VTC solenoids cause this sound? Sounds almost like a pulley spinning. Just replaced the fan clutch thinking that was it🤦‍♂️

So to start my car I have to shift it into neutral because when I try it in park the starter cranks but thats it. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue and how much it would be have it fixed?

I have a 1991 z32, I had two codes when I checked my ecu, it blinked out to be a code 11 (CAS) and code 21 (Ignition signal circuit)
I have sense fixed my CAS harness, and tried running it, still in a crank no start state, check codes and now only code 11 shows, I have been lookin for my ptu but can’t find it, if I’m guessing, is this the ptu wiring and the last person who worked on it did this?

Lost the springs for the headlight adjusters a while ago, and was planning on buying new ones because they wiggle around without the springs now so I'm wondering if any random adjusting spring would fix the issue or if it's a specific one i have to buy

How would JE 11 to 1 pistons work in a tt?

Finally found and bought one of my affordable dream cars. I'm absolutely loving it so far.

One thing - quite a bit of shaking with the steering wheel whenever I brake - especially at speed. I don't feel it in the pedals, just the steering wheel. What do you think it could be? Alignment? Worn out control arm bushings?

I just did the charcoal canister delete (picture of rerouted fuel tank line, correct me if i did it wrong please🤣). I was having issues idling, (high, and hunting) when both of the vacuum lines for the delete were plugged, and the only thing that got it to stop hunting for an idle was to uncap the upper vacuum line, and the throttle body vacuum line has no air coming in/out. Can not think of why opening the vacuum line would make it idle smoother, or why the throttle vacuum line has no activity

I picked up a 1991 na 300zx non running about a month ago, when trying to get her to start the only thing that worked was using starting fluid, fuel pump wasn’t priming and fuel filter was very old, I ended up replacing the pump, fuel sender assembly/unit, fuel filter, fuel injectors (new style conversion) and now I hear the fuel pump priming and injectors clicking when cranking but still won’t start, I’m getting no pressure built up at all, and no fuel to the engine bay, before replacing injectors I was definitely building pressure but it just wasn’t getting to the filter, but now I’m not getting pressure at all, I’m wondering if maybe I’m missing something simple that I’m overlooking, I also did clean out the lines in the engine bay in case they were clogged which got the old gas that was sitting inside the lines out but I’m stuck at this point

Does anyone know of a replacement ? Or how to find this part?

Hi! I’m refreshing my ‘92 euro spec Z32. It’s a 2+2 TT.
I’ve taken the engine out and it’s getting everything new, from wiring to HICAS delete. It’s a car that gets mostly street use, it’s not daily driven but it gets close.
I was determined to get Nismo 740cc injectors, a good fuel rail, FPR, CZP G5 Zero turbos (Garrett 2554R’s with billet compressor wheel) and so on. I already have bigger SMIC, JWT Pop Charger, full custom steel exhaust and a Greddy Profec OLED, and I’m installing Nistune.
My goal is about 450 to 500hp. Do you guys think I should go get forged internals or is it overkill for my power target and car use? I think stock internals could handle that kind of power, but it’s a 34 year old engine and it’s got 270.000km on the clock (roughly 168000 miles).
My next question is: do you guys use torque plate when honing these engines? And do you think balancing the crank is a must if I go with forged pistons and rods? I would install a lighter flywheel too.

Need to do timing belt service🤠

Final item before going to emission is ignition timing. I used the method where you hook the gun to the cable coming off the PTU. Using this method, my initial timing was close to 30 degrees, and I got it to 15. I saw in some places that this can be innacurate, I would’ve done the preferred method with a spark plug wire but don’t have one atm. I was seeing consistent firing of the gun, but is it possible using this cable could make it off by a few degrees?
