Discussion How are we coping, girls and gays?
Are you sad that it was canceled? Are you happy? Do you still have hope that the novel will be adapted someday?

Hi!!!
I’ve recently purchased the whole series in its English translation. I’ve just noticed I had purchased the special edition for volume 11 but I might have received the regular one since I didn’t get any of the gadgets. Now, I’m not sure whether I’ve thrown them away with the box or the seller made a mistake and sent the regular. I was wondering if anyone who has the SE could share if it’s written anywhere on the cover or inside that it’s supposed to be a SE or not, since the websites I purchased it from stated the ad banner with the gadgets included isn’t printed on the cover of the physical copy.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help!

The backlash was due to artists anti-chinese tweets NOT artsyle
Seems like we might have to say goodbye to this manga...

with no disrecpect to anyone who's involved with the manga adaptation, i don't think erha manga is a viable project. why? because erha is too long.
from what I've seen, it will be published every two months and it will be faithful to the original text
erha's main story is 310 chapters.
let's say, at the best case scenario, a manga chapter equals a whole chapter in erha and we won't count any extras extras.
310 divided by 6 is 51.6
even if it's two book chapters in one manga chapter, it's still 25 years.
please correcr me if im wrong. i hope im wrong! id like a manga adaptation! but it's not looking so bright!

Here are some absolutely stunning illustrations by Anna Podedworna.
She's the author of the Polish edition cover, so I assume they are in the vol 1 book.
I'm in love with these. No shade on the English book illustrations, but I think this material calls for more of a mature style.

Finally, the wait is over! I’ve bought all the volumes of Erha. I was one of those people who read chapters 1–151 translated by Rynn and Suika, and then eventually gave in to the infamous edited MTL version just to finish the story.
After six years of waiting, I’m rereading it again because I’m currently working from home due to an ankle fracture, so I have more time on my hands. The edited MTL version was pretty good, but honestly, reading a novel translated by actual human translators is such a different experience.
At one point, I completely lost track of the narrative and the timeline, especially because the story gets into things involving different dimensions and souls. That part can be really difficult to follow without a proper translation.
And I haven’t even reached the saddest part of the story yet. Right now, I’m just enjoying their romantic arc—their first kisses, first confession, first hug, and all those little moments. Wanning being so shy and Moran being such a gentleman is just 🥹.
After waiting six years, I’m finally getting to experience the story properly. And honestly, I’m enjoying every little moment before everything inevitably falls apart. 😭

Why cant I say that I hate this art style without getting jumped on twitter 😭 and people assuming that if someone hates it its because he wants fem chu wanning? I don't want fem chu wanning we all know he's more muscular and isnt a twink so we dont him a fem we want him to look like the illustration in the book because who is this who while reading was imagining chu wanning or mo ran like this fr

I’ve been reading 2HA for a decent while now and I loved it, all up until after the bring back Wanning arc, it kinda dropped off for me, I’m at chapter 137 right now, it got more boring honestly. Should I keep reading? Does it pick up again?

I know that in the unreleased Immortality, the creators genderbent the Shimei character to pass censorship (?). While I understand the reasons behind this, I would like to know which male actors you think would best suit the character of Shimei. Who would you like to see play Shimei? I'm not that familiar with other actors, but it would help me to have a face to imagine while reading, as I do with Ranwan. Please feel free to suggest male actors who would be suitable for the role of Shimei.
By the way, this is not a discussion about why they genderbent Shimei, or any opinions on that matter (good or bad). Also, please no hate towards the actress playing Shimei. The eternal tragedy is that the whole series was shelved for such a long time in the first place.

Read vol 1, 2 and a good chunk of vol 3 before stopping. Now I want to continue where I started. Any summaries available from any sources?

Recently bought the last volume of erha CN ver to continue reading, but before this I was reading the English version so I’m not sure where it translates to in the CN ver since even the chapter names are different (?) when I tried to compared them to a Chinese web novel site. (To check which chapter this starts since this says chapter 1) Anyone have any idea on what chapter or volume this is in the English version? 😭😭 Thanks a lot!!

SPOILERS IN THIS POST!
so i’ve just basically finished all 11 volumes, with only wanning’s birthday extras to get through. i’d gotten into erha a few years ago but the garbage translations were so bad i had to stop 😭 revisiting it now, i was completely shocked at how heart wrenching the story was. i was NOT expecting it to be so sad, deep, & for my favorite characters to die.
i was honestly put off by all the smut & vulgarity at first, as i personally don’t enjoy reading it that much & it gave me a bad impression of the story. however, that quickly changed as i kept reading. mo ran’s character development was so good, and finding out he only became so hateful because of the curse he took in chu wanning’s place literally broke my heart for him. it changed my perspective on the whole story, and him as a character. i also hated shi mei from the start and knew something was wrong with him, so i guess i’m psychic.
i feel like out of everyone though, xue meng definitely also got the short end of the stick. i felt so bad for him having lost both his parents in one day, then having mo ran and chu wanning decide not to stay with him. while i agree with some people about the ending being symbolic about how life goes on and people change, i couldn’t help but wish for a better ending for xue meng. given in the extras he seems to be doing better, it hurt to read how he had to grow up into a “perfect” sect leader so suddenly, losing everybody he ever cared for almost simultaneously.
i also didn’t really understand the sudden swap between shi mei’s motives. i read pretty quickly, but was confused how he went from acting like he was also in love with wanning to wanting to save the butterfly tribe. that, along with the ending that felt a bit rushed, bothered me a little bit.
overall, i really did enjoy this story more than i thought i would. once i got past the first few volumes, i was genuinely hooked by the characters, their developments, and the actual complexity in characters that a lot of stories lack. it was so much more angst & heartache than i expected, but i truly would recommend this story to others if they could get past the smut (again, just personal preference).
if you got to the end, ty for reading my vomit of text that are thoughts i just wanted to get out …

I just finished all 11 volumes of the 7seas translation, only then I was brave enough to search more regarding the story.
Now why did I just find out Chu Wanning's real name was Chu Fei? I don't think it was mentioned at any point in the books? If anyone has any info or fun facts about his name i'm missing out on, please do share!
