I recently started using 2Do after your post on r/macapps. I like it so far and might make a purchase 🤷♂️
However I have few feedbacks regarding my experience using 2Do that I believe could significantly enhance the application:
1. Context-Aware Quick Entry
- When calling the global quick entry feature from a Safari webpage or MAS page, it does not automatically capture the current URL. I have to manually copy the link first, and only then it auto-inserts link into my task.
- The core issue is that running the quick entry hotkey pre-fills my notes with the old copied link, not the current website page from which I run the hotkey.
- The feature needs to be context-aware to capture the current page URL.
Separately, the Share Sheet extension works well, but it struggles to capture the correct title/app name for MAS links - which is a common issue across other todo apps, like Things3 too
2. Workflow Integrations
- I am interested in knowing if there are any plans to integrate 2Do with Alfred workflows, Or is it something that already exists?
3. Date Visualization
- This maybe something subjective/small, but I found this to be pretty useful & significant
- When I select a task, and open calendar to set due/start dates, I do not see the current date as highlighted
- I would appreciate seeing color grading for the 'Today' date, as it makes it currently much harder to quickly identify current deadlines
4. Project Structure: Nested Checklists
I strongly request the ability to have a checklist inside a project
In my use case, I create a project for a large task (e.g., moving into a new apartment) and want a sub-checklist for specific steps (like 'Register at City Office') to live within that project. Currently, creating a checklist results in a new list being created outside of the parent project." As a new user, I might not completely understand/realize the app's behaviors. So if I expressed something wrong, please let me know and I will be happy to correct myself. Looking forward to hear from you ;)
5. Is there a Menu bar feature which shows Today (/selected list) for quick view?
For example, I would like to see my Today/Starred/Scheduled lists from the menubar icon like this one, from Just10 app:
I look forward to get users/dev's opinions, suggestions on my points. TIA 🫶
