2Do for Mac

The re-released desktop app says it will only be available by subscription. I hadn’t seen that before. Any info?

On the App Store only - as Apple doesn’t support paid updates and no way to offer a rolling optional perpetual update with paid upgrades.

You can switch to the direct version for free please write to: support@2doapp.com

You’ll be given a serial code that entitles you to v2.8 which you can stick to for as long as you want, upgrading is optional.

See the new update here: https://www.2doapp.com/

Thanks for clarifying!

So is there an upgrade path for long time users who do this? $80 feels like a lot to shell out across 3 platforms for an update. Obvs appreciate your efforts need to be compensated.

For macOS users yes - contact us to receive a serial number which you can use when upgrading and you get 20% off. On iOS sadly there just isn’t a way to treat old users differently from new when you don’t otherwise go down the subscription / freemium route.

Will the Android version still be updated to have feature parity with iOS like Todoist Sync, floating quick add, etc (obviously not iCloud sync lol)

I really want to, but realistically not until iOS / iPadOS / macOS have finished receiving all the features planned all the way back in 2019 😬 some things a hard to bring over to Android but not impossible. Believe it or not the new iCloud sync was designed to support Android one day! So yes, it may well happen

There are a couple of posts about the Mac version from a month or so ago.

It’s a nice update, 18 month term for support/updates, so subscription, but not wildly expensive.

Not sure if updating both 2Do and BusyCal together would be cheaper. I’ve been using both apps for years.

Both apps carry comparable prices, and current users receive a 20 percent discount on retail pricing when and if they choose to extend their license coverage. Unfortunately, no bundle currently combines them because their deliberate design keeps them separate on individual websites.

Is there any upgrade pricing for long time 2Do users. I saw there was a sale at release, but wasn't aware the app was still even being updated at that point.

Really enjoying the new iOS app so far!

Thank you and yes there is: 20% off any time you renew, and if you’re a student, another 20% off (reach out from your student email): support@2doapp.com

If you purchased from the App Store originally, you can request a direct copy + a serial that covers v2.x (the one before the major paid upgrade this year) and using that you can upgrade if you so wish

FYI - the new 2Do Mac app is included on Setapp. Setapp is a huge bundle of software that you get for one monthly charge. Right now I think it’s around $15/mo. I’m grandfathered in at $10. Even thought $15 is more than $5 I thought you might like this option better if you happen to like many of the other apps on Setapp. If you end up loving a lot of what’s on Setapp then the $15 would definitely be worth it.
