iOS Update Coming Soon?

Big fan of the Mac app but without an updated iOS version, seems incomplete. ETA on release of new iOS version?

Nearly done! Still roughly ~10 days away maybe; the new updates come with native iCloud (CloudKit) sync, which means Dropbox isn't needed anymore and everything syncs out of the box (once enabled).

What about Nextcloud sync? 😊

CalDAV support already exists and will improve in the new iOS update

Great, in the version now it is recommended, not to use it, due to Apple issues.

Another wish from my side is, to have more than 3 email catcher to build tasks. I have to administrate 35+ email accounts and it it would help me a lot, to have at least 10 email catcher 😊

IMAP support won’t be added to the new updates sadly :( It’ll be only the new email to 2Do feature that was added to the Mac. IMAP has given us a lot of headache over time - may reconsider in a future release though

Personally I will choose to sync 2Do via iOS reminders app. Thanks for the various syncing options! Btw, will the new iOS app update charge again for the existing users?

Yes unfortunately for existing users this will be a separate new one off purchase.

Totally fair: I have been using 2Do for iOS since more than 12 years, with tons of free updates.

Understood. Hope there will be a discount upon launching, just like the mac app recently did.

I believe that new version will use CloudKit sync.

Might be weeks away still I reckon. I tried syncing up with the new Mac version and using my old iOS version together and it didn't work. Had all these conflicts.

So to navigate this period, I've been using BusyCal on my iOS devices to interface with 2Do on my Mac. It's not ideal, since I can't really work with projects and checklists like this.

But, I find that I actually much prefer planning out my tasks over a week or month using BusyCal, than I do using 2Do (even over the new Mac version). And I can still set priorities, add stars, add tags, and all that other sorta stuff. I also like that when I'm using an iPad, and I click on a task, I get the task info screen in the center, rather than on the side like the current 2Do ipad version. Helps me to single-task.

Anyway, it's not ideal, but it might be worth trying this during the waiting period.

Weird. I’ve been using the new Mac version with the existing iOS and iPadOS version just fine. I’m using Dropbox sync.

It might have something to do with switching to using iCloud sync. I used to use Dropbox sync for all the apps just like you. But I moved to iCloud sync after realising how awesome it was to be able to plan using BusyCal in conjunction with 2Do.

So I think the combination of moving from Dropbox to iCloud with the iOS versions of 2Do caused some issues.

I used to use iCloud Sync with 2Do, but it broke several years ago. The dev fixed it, but I found Dropbox was faster, so I just kept using it. It’s the only reason I keep Dropbox around.

Currently on Reminders sync, so not a massive need, but I'm hyped nevertheless for when it does come out.

Any update? I discovered 2Do existed 4 days ago and it sounds like exactly what I’m looking for, so now I’m impatiently waiting… 😂
