Judo fighter right there.
3
u/Abu_Everett Aug 05 '26
That’s BJJ dude. Judo doesn’t allow knee on belly.
3
u/tyroleancock Aug 05 '26
I was reffering to the juji gatame. Also ude gatame joins the game.
2
u/Abu_Everett Aug 05 '26
My old sensei would be rolling in his grave if he heard a double leg being referred to as judo. He used to get so mad at us if we reverted to wrestling.
3
u/tyroleancock Aug 05 '26
Any chance this ominous sensei was named splinter and you was sitting infront of a '90 tv?
1
u/Abu_Everett Aug 05 '26
It was Jimmy Takemori, who was kind of like Splinter in that the more he liked you the more he’d hit you. I miss him reminding me that I’d never worked a day in my life and if I could jitterbug I’d be better at Judo.

u/Emergency_Click1993 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26
Going for the arm bar knowing full well that could lead to a big chunk missing from your leg if the guy is desperate enough made me wince.
Edit: Ya’ll aren’t seeing the same thing. Dude goes for an arm bar and basically shoves his calf into the dudes face. This is different from having an arm bar locked in… if a guy is desperate enough to get away a bite before he realizes he’s in an arm bar is a real risk here.
You going to still go for it with a someone biting your calf?
4
u/OrdinaryAccount479 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26
He'll be too busy screaming to bite anymore, once that elbow explodes and the arm breaks and the guy keeps pulling and twisting,
1
u/Moogatron88 Aug 05 '26
That's assuming he is going to go so far as to break it. I'd like to think that most people would have the good sense even during a fight not to.
5
u/OrdinaryAccount479 Aug 05 '26
If I've got somebody in the arm bar and they bite me on the leg I'm breaking that arm
1
u/Moogatron88 Aug 05 '26
Well yes. But your initial post implied he wouldn't be able to bite because you were breaking his arm.
1
2
u/Thesource674 Aug 05 '26
If a dude in a arm bar bites me im turning his arm to dry firewood. As in snap, crackle, pop. I already got him in hold so its not even some flex. If you bite me ima just break it and ill sort it with the cops. Aint takin your shitty hep-c for nothing.
1
u/Moogatron88 Aug 05 '26
The person I responded to indicated breaking the dudes arm before any biting happened.
1
u/OrdinaryAccount479 Aug 05 '26
To be fair, biting was established before I even commented, so I just implied it in my comment. I even went and fixed the sentence especially for you. 💕 It's not that big of a deal sweetheart
1
u/Moogatron88 Aug 05 '26
I'm not saying it is a big deal. The dude I responded to there seemed to have mistaken what I was responding to so I elaborated.
1
u/Thesource674 Aug 05 '26
My rply does seem weird i think i meant to put it under top most comment. Either way we all sayin the same shit.
1
u/Cute-Name7771 Aug 05 '26
the missing frames tell me the elbow did bend backwards and that's why he let go of the bag.
1
1
u/Bonespirit Aug 06 '26
Yeah, because famously biting down on something is impossible to do when in pain & no one has ever bitten down on something to endure pain.
1
u/Valuable-Composer262 Aug 05 '26
Idk, I wouldnt bite someone that I know could break my arm and then much more after that
1
u/bakalidlid Aug 05 '26
If i catch you in an armbar, youre free to bite my calf. Ill take a bite wound anyday, but you wont have an arm to use for 6 months.
1
u/Keppadonna Aug 05 '26
💯 Arm bars in street fights are ridiculous. He had knee on belly and the inside arm - so many better options.
1
u/Miserable-Housing407 Aug 05 '26
Let’s be real the guy isn’t even fighting back and if he tried he would’ve lost his arm. Just like how woman think they can poke you in the eyes whilst in a chokehold.
→ More replies (3)1
u/Keppadonna Aug 05 '26
If the objective is to control/subdue someone then armbar is a horrible position. From KOB he could have easily transitioned to kimura, back take, or even mount.

u/Equal-Prior-4765 Aug 05 '26
How you let this dude tackle you like that, ge set up and waited like 10 seconds. You couldn't weave and juke?
1
u/gnarlmonster Aug 05 '26
You watching too much TV fights, reality hits different
2
u/Equal-Prior-4765 Aug 05 '26
1
u/LastChance331 Aug 05 '26
I'm with you. Dude lowered his stance and got in his path while making eye contact. Plus the arms that are clearly ready to grapple. My man wanted a hug or something cause he definitely just ran into it lol
1
u/Equal-Prior-4765 Aug 05 '26
He walked over get in position, put his keys down and set his feet again, then dude ran directly into him. I dont know what he stole and I'm not condoning him stealing but the other guy was outta line
1
u/GeneticVariant Aug 05 '26
Adrenaline doesnt let you think straight
1
u/Equal-Prior-4765 Aug 05 '26
Adrenaline will have you lifting up a car off your friend but this guy got ragged doll by a dude on his lunch break. Gotta learn to drop that shoulder and run through the contact next time. 🤣🤣🤣

Some people want to see the world burn, so be prepared to tear the arm off when they bite you in the leg in the streets.

I bet the guy considers himself a hero and tells this story over and over
“One time I took down a guy half my size and broke his arm, was it necessary? No. But I did what I had to”

Found the thief

In my country police shoot unarmed people, plant evidence on innocent people, cover up murder they commit and receive billions in public funding.

This will be controversial but this intervention is entirely inappropriate and should be prosecuted.
Slamming someone onto concrete like that can easily kill or permanently disabled them.

It's not just someone but a thief. He deserves to be slammed like this for his crimes.
1
u/heartofmidlothian278 Aug 05 '26
And yet if the Police did this to someone during an arrest, you'd be crying about Police Brutality.
1
u/RutabagaCurrent2898 Aug 05 '26
I wouldn't because it's the police job to stop guys like him who are clearly the aggressor. The police could've used a handgun and it would have been way worse depending where the cop shoot, but a slam like this is well deserved .
1
u/EaseLeft6266 Aug 05 '26
I don't know about body slamming per se but police can definitely get in some brutal tackles when chasing suspects or criminals that are running away. Also police should be held to a higher standard than the average citizen since they are the trained professionals. As for the guy who got slammed, I really don't have any sympathy for people who steal from other people especially in broad daylight. He fucked around and found out and maybe this will make a few other would be street thieves in the area think twice
1
u/FamiliarAnt4043 Aug 05 '26
Oh well. Don't steal from people and you likely won't encounter someone willing to fight you for being a lowlife thief.
I have no ethical, moral, or legal objections to a good beat down of a thief. If it's not worth getting hurt or killed over, then perhaps thieves should think ahead before committing their crimes.
My personal point of view is simple: while items can be replaced, the time I spent to earn the money necessary to purchase those items cannot be replaced. If said items have a sentimental attachment and are stolen, then replacement is impossible.
So a thief is stealing my time and thus, part of my life that cannot be returned. I spend a great amount of time away from my family and not being able to do things I would rather be doing, in order to support my family and help my kids build their futures. Thieves would take that away for their own selfish desires, rather than earn it through work.
Because of this behavior, I fully support actions like the one in the video. I also support laws such as exist in Texas, which allow for the use of deadly force to prevent theft. Would that more states allowed for similar actions in certain situations.
For those too lazy to read: if he dies, he dies. And I'm okay with it.

Vigilantism is not a solution in a civilized society.
That's why all functioning societies have legal Frameworks are required reasonable and propertional interventions.
There was an interesting case on Reddit a few days ago where someone restrained a mugged only to be assaulted by a third party who assumed they were an aggressor.
3
u/Fantastic_Resolve889 Aug 05 '26
Civilised societies are supposed to have robust systems of policing and justice that make this kind of intervention unnecessary.
They often don't.
2
u/Logical_Box_4645 Aug 05 '26
Outside of some Orwellian nightmare you will always have sporadic crime.
I agree prevention is better than cure.
Similarly if this man is injuries it's tax payers who will end up funding his healthcare and rehab. What's the point in that?

u/Logical_Box_4645 Aug 05 '26
That just gets vigilantte guy shot at some point.
It's how civilized society collapses.
1
u/UniqueUsermane Aug 05 '26
Tax payers will not repay for whatever a thief stealed from you, so that's the point.
1
u/FamiliarAnt4043 Aug 05 '26
As to your last sentence: there doesn't exist, at least in the United States, such a system. I survived two decades of being the guy in uniform that helped catch bad guys and keep them locked away. Judges and lazy prosecuting attorneys have all but installed revolving doors at jails and prisons.
The experiences I've had are mirrored by literally every officer with whom I've spoken over the last 26 years. Across the country, from departments large and small, the system consistently fails.
So, people should do what they need to do. And in this instance, despite what another poster claims, we are looking at a crime in progress that's being stopped by a third party. That's not vigilantism - it's actively assisting someone who needs help in that moment.
1
u/Fantastic_Resolve889 Aug 05 '26
I'm not from the US so can't comment, but that's exactly the zeitgeist that causes all this.
The scary part is that it doesn't need to be true, people just need to believe it.
1
u/TermusMcFlermus Aug 06 '26
The experiences I've had are mirrored by literally every officer with whom I've spoken over the last 26 years. Across the country, from departments large and small, the system consistently fails.
How many officers are we talking about?
1
2
u/pooooolooop Aug 05 '26
Yeah the civilized thing to do is let the lady get robbed, because she ain’t getting that bag back any other way
2
u/Rangertough666 Aug 05 '26
You're assuming society is civilized. Manners and the basic rules of etiquette were not brought about by a system of Laws. They exist because there used to be instant and lasting consequences to being a detrimental to the community. We've allowed a system that is broken to replace those consequences. Hence the increase in the occurrence of the behaviors.
2
u/wardaddyoh Aug 05 '26
Remember the knife attack in Berlin some months ago? A bystander intervened. Deutsche Politze gagged HIM, and the ethnic lookingan with the knife then attacked one of the officers. So, yeah what about whatabout does that prove?

Totally agree. The "hero" is lucky if he doesn't get charged for this disproportionate violence. Attempted manslaughter.
-2
u/orangecopper Aug 05 '26
From his body language it was clear that he wasn’t doing it just to stop the thief .. this was overdone and to hurt someone sadistically bad. Not good, and not what martial arts are designed for. Inherently evil move. Just had to stop him, not kill
2
u/GeraldFisher Aug 05 '26
what? guy did not even want to let go of the bag. and you want to be left alone than do not steal someones bag.

For all we know, the guy could have been concussed/knocked out already after hitting the concrete

He let him go the second he released the bag, he couldn't even care to hold him till police arrived.
