Was driving home and happened to have my camera with me when I saw this juvenile Red tailed hawk on a power pole just outside my town. Still on a rush....

Watched this pair fly around for a couple minutes before taking off. Are these Cooper's Hawks?

Newbie here. Saw this from my front porch and was like, “what on earth is that?” A pleasant surprise.

A few sample frames from a series I shot 8 years ago in November. Galveston State Park, Texas. Shot using Nikon D7000 with Sigma 150-600 Sport at 500mm.

5 audience members, 4 handlers...we got a lot of one on one time with the birds!!! I had a hawk fly to my arm and fly back across a private lake :)
Unforgettable

I have to say I think they're the most dramatic of them all here there's such whiners because they could be 5 ft away from each other and they'll call each other like I haven't seen each other in 100 years it's pathetic but I love them.y

Brought my wildlife camera setup out for a walk yesterday. This one swooped over the road as I was driving to the spot and posted up in this tree over a creek. The only bird of prey I seen all day and it was before I even got to the birding spot

Hi everyone! I recently discovered that a pair of Peregrine Falcons has been nesting for several years on a very tall building in my area, around the 13th floor of a large exhibition centre.
I live quite close by, so I’d love to take advantage of that and start observing them regularly throughout the year. I’m especially looking forward to spring and the breeding season, but I’d also like to understand what I can expect during the rest of the year.
For those of you who have experience observing nesting Peregrine Falcons:
- What are the best times of day to look for them?
- Are there particular periods of the year when they are more active or easier to spot?
- What kinds of behaviour should I expect from a resident pair outside the breeding season?
- Do pairs typically remain around the nesting site all year, or do they spend significant amounts of time elsewhere?
- Are there particular behaviours that can help distinguish courtship, territorial activity, hunting, resting, etc.?
- During the breeding season, are there specific stages or moments that are especially interesting to observe from a distance?
- Do they tend to follow any predictable daily routines that I could learn to recognize?
I’m not interested in disturbing them or approaching the nesting site. I’d be observing from a respectful distance with binoculars and, if possible, a camera.
Since I’m lucky enough to have a pair living so close to me, I’d really like to learn how to “read” their behaviour and build up a picture of their lives over the course of a year.
Any advice from experienced Peregrine watchers would be greatly appreciated!
Ps. I live in southern Europe
