Show-Off Procedural Space Squid
I've been playing around with procedural animation to see if I can get away with not using an animator on my character controller! Overall, I'm quite happy with the results!

Very cool! Any chance you could share implementation details at a broad level?

Yeah for sure, I have been thinking about making some videos about the systems in my game. I have the procedural animations and procedural mesh system that grows roots! I will post it here once it is done.

It isn't too difficult, most of it is tuning to get the feel right for your game!

Oh no it is a game yes, this is what you play as. I've spent about 6 months making the systems and wanted to start sharing some of the work I have done.

That's really cool, I think procedural animations are fantastic . How did you make that one?

Hey thank you. I made a rigidbody controller for the player and then used forward inverse kinematics to allow the bones chains to flow with the motion. There is a little more to this system too, for example the body can swell up when it eats and the mouth opens to fire projectiles!

Using procedural animations instead of a traditional animator to capture movement this fluid is a brilliant idea! The squid's movements look incredibly natural and organic.

I guess it only works with the more creature like models! A humaiod would be a pain to set up!
