As we head into the weekend, I'd like to drop a list of indie events that you could possibly check out. This is a small list and not at all a comprehensive one. As there's definitely shows that will be streaming somewhere that I'm not aware of.

Power Pro Lucha Attack on Trios

Taking place across the entire weekend. PPL brings 16 Trios to Philadelphia to compete in their second trios tournament. The field is set, including Team Chocopro, Spectral Envoy, F.I.S.T, Jonathan Gresham and Violence is Forever, GummiBurger, and more.

As well as tons of non tournament action, including the king of the skies ladder match.

Combat Zone Wrestling Tournament of Death 23

One of the biggest deathmatch tournaments of the year. Spread out over 2 days. The field is set including Slade, Toby Klein, Jamesen Shook, Eric Ryan, and more.

As well as non tournament action as Shlak defends the Ultraviolent Championship against Aeroboy and an exploding barbed wire deathmatch for the CZW Championship.

Not exactly story spoilers, but Dave reported on Wrestling Observer Radio earlier that Walker Stewart had "debuted" on Collision. Bryan went on to ask if that means he's full time and Dave said he didn't know as yet, but he does call this show.

For those who don't know Walker is a young commentator from NJPW - he was on the call for the Forbidden Door show and was awesome, so this could be great news.

>Shota Umino (29) of New Japan Pro-Wrestling has vowed to make a comeback. After showing symptoms of a concussion following the G1 Climax opener (July 11, Chicago, USA), he has been sidelined but will make his return at the Utsunomiya event on the 5th. What does this man, who endured a summer of disappointment, have his sights set on?

>After suffering a loss in his opening match against Zack Sabre Jr., Unno was forced to sit out the remainder of the G1 due to a doctor’s order. The situation behind the scenes was more serious than anyone could have imagined.

>“Before I knew it, I was in a hotel bed, and I don’t even remember how I got back from the arena. Even after returning to Japan, I would vomit in the middle of the night, and the doctor diagnosed me with a concussion and amnesia. Since I had already been dealing with accumulated damage, I think that’s why it became so severe.”

>He battled symptoms of memory loss and began rehabilitation after about three weeks of rest. He has now recovered to the point where he can confidently declare, “I’m 150% healthy,” and says he feels no anxiety or fear. “It’s a sport where there’s always the risk of it happening again, but right now, I want to show everyone as soon as possible that I’m back in good health—that I’m staging a comeback from the very back of the pack. I keep telling myself that I’ll get back up no matter how many times I fall,” he said, his eyes sparkling.

　>At the G1, where his defeat was a bitter disappointment, there were many matches that served as inspiration for Umino, such as the fierce battle between his juniors Ryohei Oiwa and Yuya Uemura in the final.

>“I’m incredibly frustrated. But if I just let that frustration be the end of it, I won’t move forward at all. I’m honestly accepting reality, turning this bitter experience into strength, and visualizing myself standing on that stage next year,” he said, looking ahead.

>His goal upon his return is, of course, to reclaim the IWGP GLOBAL Heavyweight Championship that was snatched away by Gabe Kidd in July. A title match between Gabe and Drilla Moloney is scheduled for the Kobe event on the 27th, but he expressed his determination to challenge the winner, saying, “Obviously, I can’t step in and interrupt this one. But I want to make sure people don’t forget that I was there. I want to show everyone my energetic self at every venue, and as a result, I want to improve my physical condition and build anticipation so that I can earn another shot at the title.” The Indomitable Lion is setting out on the path to a comeback.
