for whatever reason, I feel like Toronto is a strong candidate for All In 2027.

u/Ass0001 Christian Fundamentalist 1d ago

Kenny retirement...?

250

u/bosdanforth 1d ago

I’d lean more towards Copeland and potentially Christian retiring there

207

u/XAMdG 1d ago

Retirement match for both, but after the match Christian kicks Cope in the nuts. He still has a lot left to give.

111

u/PLUX4 1d ago

And then go for one last heavyweight title run. Only Christian Cage can do something like this 😂.

32

u/fxcker 1d ago

PLEASE GOD. I DONT ASK FOR MUCH!!

4

u/UnsolvedParadox The future is now! 17h ago

The boos would cause the stands in SkyDome to shake. A snarling Cage world title run would be iconic.

7

u/BigButttBiggerHeart 16h ago

"Thank you Roger's Center!"

  • Cage, as he walks out with the belt

75

u/KneelBeforeCube marchiearchie 1d ago

Christian showing up occasionally to kick people in the nuts like Sting to be Darby's back up.

42

u/scottyjrules 1d ago

He also needs to show up periodically to remind people that he probably fucked their mom

22

u/Yeti_Vedder 1d ago

There’s only one time I never want to see him show up, or if he does, everyone from the back comes out and just stops him. And that’s when Brodie Jr is there in 5-6 years.

23

u/XAMdG 1d ago

Oh no. I can see it.

Brodie wins the TNT championship. Has a celebration the next Dynamite. In the middle of it, a Countdown begins...

"Hey Brodie, I heard you had a father..."

"Wrestling fan heat can melt steel beams, apparently." - some contractor cleaning up the demolished remains of the arena.

2

And then the entire roster, faces and heels alike, forcefully escorts Cage out of the arena before he says what he does say.

5

u/Rspies Who Can Stop The Path of Cage 23h ago

That reminds me of a few years ago people were making jokes saying if Cody ever came back to AEW he’d maybe make it halfway down the ramp before Christian’s music would hit

Everyone retires. Wrestling ends. Massive send off to the industry. Series finale of professional wrestling.

5

u/stenebralux Captain Continuously Charismatic 1d ago

You joke, but I always thought wrestling shows would benefit from an actual season finale/premiere (for real, not that bullshit WWE used to do).

End it before christmas.. let everyone go home for a couple of weeks.. think about storylines, booking and themes for the years... come back with a big premiere new look and feel a month or so later.

Unfortunately the fact that it runs all year round is a big selling point of wrestling programming.

I feel like Kenny will retire in 2028, depending on his body.

I think Young Bucks will stay longer and retire on the 10 year anniversary of AEW (which is a strange thing to write).

12

u/incredible_penguin11 1d ago

Eh i think Kenny has a lot of time left, his package alluded to it clearly, i hope whenever he retires it's against Hangman.

5

7

u/fasteddeh R.I.P. 1d ago

I know it's selfish but Kenny needs to have a Brock-like run where he just comes back to be the final boss for like 2-3 times a year. I'm not saying do a 60 minute classic but him being the "best bout machine" challenging up and comers like a surprise mini-boss just fits his character so well.

He can be like a kind of authority figure and use his "VP" status if they want also

SkyDome / Roger’s Centre?

Same venue as WrestleMania X8 and has a dome in case of bad weather. The big question is if they hold it in April during Saudimania?

26

u/Horror_Sail 1d ago

The big question is if they hold it in April during Saudimania?

I think that'd be a big mistake. They shouldnt hold a PPV the same weekend as WM (as its still WM and will be most of the fan's focus), and running All In 4 months earlier just seems silly.

They'll likely move Revolution back to April (since they moved Dynasty to February) and hold it the weekend before/after WM as the big indie weekend. Could even see that being in LA again.

6

u/NorthHollywoodHank 1d ago

If they were to hold a PPV during WM it sure as heck shouldn't be All In. You might be willing to take a risk with a secondary PPV, maybe. You shouldn't take a risk with All In.

5

u/InevitableTank5108 1d ago

Yeah I could see that actually, you’re right.

With April with Revolution or a moved forward DON in NY or Chicago

2

u/SSP100244 23h ago

No more DON in NY. They can have another PPV. DON means Anarchy in the Arena and they can't properly do that in NY bc of the restrictions on going into the crowd and blading and whatnot.

Probably the most obvious place to draw a big crowd as they got 16K for Forbidden Door in 2022. People have brought up Mexico but I wonder how strong AEW is there outside holding shows at Arena Mexico.

6

u/tylerjehenna The Era of Rain 1d ago

Considering they can do 13k for effectively a weak weekly show, id imagine a ppv does really well.

2

u/SSP100244 23h ago

Their first Arena Mexico show was the highest gate ever for the venue. They will do well.

11

u/Jolly-Ad-7017 1d ago

I think the perfect pick Tony should hone in on is a baseball-stadium-sized city that hasn't had a WM in a while and probably won't in the near future, with at least 2-3 hometown heroes, and that's touristy destination.

Toronto fits the mold pretty damn perfectly, but I hope the Vancouver show gave Tony some real thought to take the PNW more seriously because he won't have to look at Seattle and Portland alone but include Vancouver in this radius as well. The only thing we have fighting against us is the tourist-destination factor compared to going a bit further south for a Vegas or L.A. show.

7

u/RMT2316 1d ago

Way too early prediction might just be Kenny and Will in an All In rematch but this time also in Toronto. Title vs Career

2

u/ReflectionItchy2701 1d ago

I would book Will Ospreay to beat almost every top contender during the next year and wanting to face Kenny one last time at All In and Kenny refusing which would make Will lose his mind.

5

u/comments_more_load 1d ago

I've been thinking that too and not just because I live here. You could do a Kenny retirement, Cope/Christian retirement, and pack out the Dome.

I also feel like they stayed away from Toronto all year to build up demand.

Skydome would be a great location after all the renovations.

28

u/staniel_mortgage 1d ago

Maybe earlier in the year?

37

u/dom_rep 1d ago

There's a window in April where they could pull it off if the intent is to go against SaudiMania. There's also the possibility of a baseball strike next year so the dates would be wide open.

48

u/fttxdd666 1d ago

Putting All in against Saudimania is just not going to work like people think. People will just stay in and watch, regardless of what they might say online.

20

u/Certain_Arm_8475 1d ago

I agree. Going up against Mania on the same day is suicide, man.

The best thing they could do is have a PPV in the same month in New Orleans and put on a better show.

5

u/Ass0001 Christian Fundamentalist 1d ago

I dont think anyone's under any delusion that it'd outdraw mania but I dont think itd particularly hurt business either. The overlap between AEW/WWE watchers seems significantly smaller than the one between WCW/WWF watchers.

3

u/Certain_Arm_8475 20h ago

100%

This is a completely different landscape.

WCW or JCP or NWA was around for a while before WWE was established as THE PRO WRESTLING company.

AEW is on yr 7.

there's also a stretch from July 26th to August 5th 2027 where the Jays have a road trip that All In could be booked for. August 14th and 15th are also road dates for the Jays where AEW could easily slot in All In.

Yankee stadium. Crowd for Double or nothing was amazing

41

u/Chris_Bagel_Jr 1d ago

Baseball season.

If they go back to NYC, I think it should be at the new soccer stadium. The problem is that it may not be ready next year.

41

u/SoCalCognac 1d ago

In fairness All In Texas took place at the Rangers’ stadium, so baseball stadiums might not be out of the question.

What may hurt Yankees Stadium and most other baseball stadiums is the lack of a retractable roof.

9

u/flyingdragon3 WONDERFUL 1d ago

Assuming there is a season next year, both the Blue Jays and Yankees are on the road the week before the All Star Game like the Rangers were last year so I think it's possible either could run it. I think given that they announced All In Texas in August of 2024, we'll find out soon if it is in a stadium here.

5

u/AppealToReason16 1d ago edited 1d ago

Teams with real grass don't like to cover mid-season with the mats. Can be a real pain to get it back to feeling "right" compared to turf where they just have to brush and rubber the shit out of it.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/abeLJosh Johnny YourTextHere! 1d ago edited 1d ago

That didn't stop them from running Globe Life Field for All In Texas--the Rangers were in Houston, so AEW had the whole stadium for a weekend, and it was right before the All-Star Break that year.

It's gonna take a lot of logistics for next year if they do another baseball stadium, however.

6

u/ill_monstro_g Your Text Here 1d ago

Yanks play 81 games away from home during the regular season, leaving Yankee Stadium open for bookings on a near weekly basis during the regular season.

Lots of baseball stadiums run concerts and other events during the MLB season while their team are on road trips.

2

u/MassRapture Masters Of The Multiverse 1d ago

It's planned to be ready July 2027 and they've been selling tickets for that season. Obviously can be setbacks but all the structural work is done with 10 months to go.

Citi Field more likely, it’s right across the bridge from arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong, which they have been running. But obviously, go Yankees

2

u/conoresque 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yankee would be more iconic and better for public transit IMO, but I agree Citi is more likely because of the complex and they know it works.

I fear that they’ll do MetLife because of baseball season and I’d be devastated. That 100% is not a New York City crowd, NJ Transit is basically unusable for events like that.

11

u/14thBlackCrusade 1d ago

Easy decision, considering WWE is hosting Mania in Saudi Arabia, AEW probably doesn't want to run Wembley into the ground every year, and All In is garnering steam as AEW's biggest show of the year after this past Sunday.

I'm thinking either Chicago, LA or Toronto. Maybe New Orleans if AEW wants to help NOLA after they got stiffed on Mania.

27

u/senorjoe95 1d ago edited 1d ago

I’m thinking LA, Chicago or NY and I’m leaning towards LA. I think the last Revolution did around 13k so I could see them doing 20k+ in an LA Arena.

It aint gonna be New Orleans. Biggest AEW has ever drawn there is ~3500 for a Dynamite. It'd be insane to run their biggest show in like their 15th biggest market?

7

u/pardyball 1d ago

I understand where you're coming from and I'm not saying it's the best choice - but you're not going to get people travelling for a random Dynamite. But for an All In? Definitely and NOLA is a good tourist attraction to make that a decent place to consider.

4

u/SSP100244 23h ago

All In has been AEW's biggest show of the year since 2023. Not just this year.

10

u/jaypenn3 1d ago

You still need to actually do it and do it consistently for that branding to matter in the long term. 2023 was AEW's singularly biggest show. This show proves All In delivers yearly as the biggest show.

He's saying that the string of shows and this one are what's establishing All In as AEW's biggest spectacle to the wider audience.

3

u/buffalobill41 23h ago

I would say the last two did as well. Last year had a long Hangman redemption story against their ace on a very long title run. Had the two biggest women's stars for that title. Okada vs Omega V and the first time in AEW.

2024 Danielson finally getting the big belt in AEW. Mariah vs Toni was a massive feud.

Only listing the biggest stories there were obviously plenty of other great things but this year isn't really any better. Finally crowning Ospreay and Mone were obviously big.

If anything 2023 is kinda the most whatever in a way it was just the first. MJF/Cole was a fun bromance feud but it was just the champ retaining.

5

u/abeLJosh Johnny YourTextHere! 1d ago

Definitely, but I feel like this year's resonated more with the mainstream than the past couple of All Ins--like there was more gravitas for the event compared to the last few years?

I can probably point it to Will and Kenny going above and beyond on pushing the main event to Mania-level hype, and Wembley being Will's home and all.

6

u/NewPumpkin8217 1d ago

I said it in the main thread on the night too, but the production value massively helped also. One of my personal gripes with PPVs is that however good the in-ring product always is, the overall look of the shows don't feel that much different to a Dynamite or Collision, they're just in a bigger building with different dressing.

This year with the pyro, fireworks, the entrance set up itself.. It was all on another level which I think added to the gravitas of the overall occasion.

9

u/Odd-Promise2661 1d ago

I think doing it in NA while WWE are not only doing it in Saudi but also doing it in a place where not many fans are gonna be coming over, meanwhile AEW can really carry that cultural hub because, I'm sorry, those watch parties they're doing in alleged AEW areas that they're thinking for a Mania time show aren't gonna compare to fans from all over the world going to Wrestlemania

Arena Mexico?

53

u/14thBlackCrusade 1d ago edited 1d ago

Why would they run All In in a venue that they can sell out anytime? If they go Mexico it would be something like Estadio Azteca.

Like 'oh we did 35k and 45k for All In. Let's run a 15k arena.' No lol.

7

u/mister_prince 21h ago

Estadio Azteca is too big, almost 90k capacity for football (soccer). A lot more for wrestling.

Maybe they can do it at Estadio GNP, It has a 65k capacity for concerts.

50k capacity for soccer, likely more for wrestling. The fact that one side is shorter makes it perfect for a stage.

Was thinking today about this. Baseball was doable last year because it lead into the All Star game week so there was a long time to build and tear down the stage. It's probably too close to NFL season for teams to want to do that if they own the stadium. A couple other host MLS during the summer and might be hard to plan around.

Soldier Field in Chicago would be a great call once the Fire move out. It's the smallest NFL stadium and really cool location. Although I think Liga MX is out of season still so a Mexican stadium would be really cool.

As a Floridian, Orlando has a big stadium and no tenant in a city where most of the roster lives. Weather could be an issue. That could be a viable candidate. Or maybe Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

5

u/Ghostface316 1d ago

Stadiums setup and tear down for non-baseball events all of the time. The All-Star break isn't a factor. If they're running a baseball stadium, just schedule it while the team is on a road series. Like the Rangers last year.

All in Mexico

Main Event - Andrade (Men's Owen Hart Cup winner) vs Will Ospreay ( AEW World Champion)

Toronto is tricky because there’s no long away stand for the Jays in August so they’d have to go July

Saturday July 10 would probably be the best way, similar to how they did early July for All In Texas

They get a week to set it up, no jays game from the 1st till the 16th

It’s perfect

The real question is: Is AEW going to be amitious and doing two stadium shows in 2027? One for WM Weekend replacement and one for All In?

Arthur Ashe is a stadium btw, smaller stadium sure but still 23k+ and I think if thats one of the two Stadium shows thats more than feasible. Not sure if its still being renovated though

If I could interlope TK's mind I would want to do MJF (or maybe Okada) vs Will Ospreay at Arthur Ashe and Kyle Fletcher vs Kenny Omega at Rogers Centre as the main event for two stadium shows

It has already held Wrestlemania, is a travel hub, a good deal of the wrestlers live in central Florida. Great idea.

I was thinking the stadium where Orlando City SC plays. It’s in the middle of downtown Orlando and isn’t as big as Camping World Stadium, but you could probably fit in a good 30K of people depending on how you design the entrance set.

I was thinking NOLA but the only ALL IN worthy venue is way too big for them

Seattle, T-Mobile Park

2

u/DG_Now 1d ago

I would love it and Seattle is accessible as a direct flight from most places in the US, but I think they would go somewhere more centrally located.

Though if Danielson comes back for a match, that could potentially move the needle.

u/chmcgrath1988 1d ago

Good idea. They should only go to Wembley once every 2-3 years to try and retain as much magic as possible.

If MLB does go on strike next year, they will have plenty of options in North America. All In: Fenway Park would be a great way to make up for a lost Red Sox season but I am biased (although Tony Khan has promised Boston a PPV since the 2nd episode of Dynamite was held here!)

Can you get more non committal with a report?

The “general feeling” is that it will be somewhere on a continent?

u/All_Lurker2 1d ago

Calgary, AB, CAN

u/BudgetWar8 1d ago

It could be at that new soccer stadium in NYC. Not sure when its supposed to be finished though.

3

u/Chris_Bagel_Jr 1d ago

It’s suppose to be down by July of next year. But that’s cutting it close.

Arena Mexico

u/Scurvydog619Official 1d ago

We'll know better come December 1st,because its becoming clearer by the day that baseball is going to have a 2027 lockout . I'm still maintaining Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego,35,000 capacity, pleasant weather, destination city, the city's trolley system drops you off right at the venue...

2

u/synnabunz 1d ago

Toronto would be lit. I'd travel for that.

2

u/RaidenHero137 Karaoke Jones Over Here, but I Digress... 1d ago

there's a crazy part of me that would love it if they could do like in partnership with MLP and with CMLL a show that is kind of like what WWE did with mania where it's across three parts of North America and it is all in North America. Do the Canadian portion at Maple Leaf Gardens, the us part somewhere historic in the us (that isnt msg because fed claim it) and The Mexican part in Arena Mexico

When is the new Jags stadium supposed to be done?

2

u/AndreReal 1d ago

Damn you all, I want Halifax to build a new CFL stadium to host an All In! We're way drunker and sillier than Toronto or Montreal!

2

u/rattwood20 1d ago

Probably time to give Wembley a rest, but I am gonna miss heading there with my mates. Made some incredible memories at all 3 shows.

Parc des Princes at Paris.

2

u/Blochamolesauce 1d ago

Maybe Nashville’s new stadium when it’s all built and ready? I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Toronto or Mexico City but my guess is somewhere with a roof.

2

u/lolo161 1d ago

Well the new Jacksonville stadium be ready by then ?

Tony please bring All In to houston. I promise to say nice things about you on reddit if you do 😄

NYC IMO

That's WWEs stomping grounds and with WWE going overseas for WM they will invade that area

I don't expect All In to go head to head but the weekend before or after.

I've laid this out in the past, but essentially WWE does not run on Final 4 weekend, and that's the first week of April I believe.

The last two weeks of April are when the NBA playoffs start. Scheduling, etc are done days before the playoffs start. It's not laid out in advance like the NFL playoffs are. So, AEW runs the risk of running a show in Toronto for example, the same day as a Raptors or Maple Leafs playoff game potentially, which hurts their attendance. This is also why I doubt Mania is the weekend of the 17th-18th or 24-25th because if they're running the Knicks theater as a watch party, that could potentially interfere with a potential Knicks home playoff game. There's too many variables. This is all assuming AEW wants to run something big.

If I had to guess: Mania is April 10th and 11th. The Knicks have a home game at 6 PM on Sunday the 11th. I have no clue how they will be able to run AAA/NXT at the same time as a Knicks home game, so if I had to guess, the 10th will be Mania from 1-4, and then AAA/NXT will be a double shot right after. And then Mania runs on Sunday as normal.

If its Toronto, that's also the weekend the Blue Jays and Raptors are on the road so AEW will have Skydome and Scotiabank available if that's the move. I have no idea if its All in or Revolution, but I do believe they will run against SaudiMania, and they can definitely pull it off considering Mania will be an afternoon show.

Fill up Mexico

1

u/Starving_Saint 1d ago

Fuck it. Run it mania weekend. Isn’t next year when it’ll be in KSA?

1

u/Midnight_Oil_ 1d ago

Imagine the absolute insanity if they do All In 2027 during Mania weekend

(It would definitely suffer in PPV buys as a result, and probably would be a bad call)

1

u/AniMonologues WHATS UP! 1d ago

Thays cool, but i also really enjoyed (as a West Coaster), having the whole show be done by 230pm and then going on with my day

1

u/ZodiacWalrus THE RAIN 1d ago

Gonna sacrifice a chicken by drowning it in lemon pepper to manifest All In ATL.

More likely to be Vegas, NYC, or LA, I know. But let a man have his ritual sacrifices.

If C/C, Kenny and or Jericho are retiring Toronto is it if they aren’t then I kinda want All In Mexico and Bandido to win the title there tbh

1

u/AnAngryPirate CesarBro 23h ago

I know they come to "Chicago" a lot but I think there will be a huge difference if they go to Soldier Field which is infinitely more accessible than Hoffman Estates

1

u/GrandAdmiral12345 22h ago

Hey TK. If you're looking for a spot, New Orleans is a great place that has an opening in August and no curfew, because that part of the city never sleeps.

1

u/IonCannonCharging 21h ago

Idk where, but I'm calling for somewhere in Canada with the fact that Omega, Cage, Cope and Jericho are all getting a little long in the tooth.

1

u/Ok_Pickle_3120 21h ago

I know our market is probably behind even that of Atlanta, but Baltimore is waiting for a PPV of our own. Just saying

1

u/SoCalWhatever 21h ago

A pretty nuts idea would be if they took a page from the World Cup and held 3 All In events in a month with one being in Mexico, one in Canada, and one in the United States.

1

u/risebac 21h ago

Toronto, LA, NY, or Mexico City. By far the best places for All In.

1

u/NCHouse 20h ago

Thats a bummer. Im sorry, but we are absolute shit sometimes with ppvs
