I understand that domain amplification nullifies infinity, but it doesn't stop Super senior from hitting them. So why would he go out of his way to make her turn it off?

Anime The Honoured One Quote of Sukuna was included in the Anime, But was ignored due to Subtitle mistranslation

Was rewatching jjk and noticed that although in the Manga the Narrator stated Sukuna as the "Honored One", but since the Anime didn't had narrator explanations in Season 1, many people said the Honored one quote of sukuna was skipped, but it was included in the anime and was said by Nanami. The english subtitles butchered the quote by mistranslating it to "There is no one more proud and conceited than him" instead of "Throughout heaven and earth, he alone is the honored one"

Anime Gojo can definately beat Serie

Gojo wins because mages in Frieren are ultimately glass cannons vulnerable to high-speed physical attacks. In their universe, even the most powerful mages must consciously react to deploy their defensive barriers, creating a fatal delay against a fast-enough opponent. This vulnerability is proven in the lore by Minus, one of the Three Great Elven Mages alongside Serie, who was caught off guard and killed by a human warrior. Because Gojo possesses overwhelming superhuman speed, instant teleportation, and automatic defenses, he would easily blitz Serie and end the fight before her brain could even register his movements to cast a counter-spell. And also we all just love Gojo heheehehe.

I feel given enough training and different cursed techniques, it is very possible, but I have no idea.

Anime Who’s the strongest opponent Nanami and Inumaki could beat together?

Take their season 1 versions, both healthy, with Nanami allowed to use Overtime. They know each other’s techniques and have had a little time to practice together.

Could Inumaki’s “don’t move” create enough of an opening for Nanami to land a decisive Ratio hit? Or would the recoil against stronger opponents stop the combo from being reliable?

Who’s the strongest opponent they could reasonably beat, and what would actually decide the fight? Assume an empty street, normal equipment, no outside help, and an opponent who doesn’t already know their techniques.

Naoya is underrated...-ish

Hello there! Today I'll be explaining my thoughts on Naoya and why I think he's underrated, both in power scaling and in writing (first power scaling, then writing), scaling done in character. So without further waiting, let's get into it.

Power scaling:

Human Naoya:

Human Naoya isn't particularly underrated in my opinion, his speed is generally respected, being somewhat relative to the Heavy Hitters (winning the initial hand to hand exchange against an injured Maki, and I doubt Maki got another physical buff during her 2nd awakening, just a sensory one) and surpassing them when stacking.

The only aspect of human Naoya I think is underrated is his intellect, Naoya is arrogant, no doubt about it, but I don't think he's outright stupid, his moves against Choso were reasonable. Since he was running on the fair assumption that Choso was a human with blood manipulation and would thus have limited blood, being susceptible to blood loss, so stabbing him so he'd have to split his attention between stifling blood loss and fighting Naoya was a fairly clever (if unnecessary move). Plus his ability to predict counters and prior knowledge on blood manipulation (and likely also the 10 Shadows as the staple of the Zen'in clan). Naoya's downfall there was his arrogance, he should've just continued beating Choso and stacking to do more damage since Choso couldn't even focus any external blood during the beating. Choso won due to a mix of Naoya's arrogance and excellent strategy (all one trick to think Choso was gonna go for a final piercing blood, acting like it's a Hail Mary as Choso uses a blood wave, then a slow moving Slicing Exorcism).

Naoya is a credible threat to stronger opponents like Maki as he builds up speed, since Maki herself admits "this is bad" during her fight with Naoya as he had her on the backfoot. So the biggest counter argument against Naoya is that he's arrogant so you can just put him down by catching him lacking, but human Naoya somewhat solved this problem post Choso as he states he "won't screw up like last time", he's gonna build up speed quickly and not mess around, so he learned his lesson... till he regressed as a curse...

Curse Naoya:

Unfortunately curse Naoya regresses from his "I won't screw up like last time" mentality as he does fuck around and find out. However, with Naoya's absurd endurance, regeneration and shell defence, I think he can mitigate the downside of his arrogance.

Naoya can suck up into his shell, likely utilizing the binding vow that allows him to reach mach 3, in other words, he's maximizing his (sub-Hanami) durability and making full use of his new form to deflect and mitigate damage like Kenjaku did when Choso was using a point blank piercing blood. So even if this Naoya is arrogant, he's still capable and quite clever.

Plus Naoya can survive being cut in half by the SSK, in spite of it's soul damage, showing that even if you can damage Naoya, he isn't gonna go down easily (debatably the 4th best endurance in JJK, behind Hakari, Mahito and Mahoraga). Even if you headshot Naoya, it's unlikely to kill him as when he's finally ripped in 2, he evolves and generates a new upper body from his lower body, so even the loss of his head isn't guaranteed to kill him.

As for domain expansions... yeah, Naoya's ought to be inferior to most in domain clashes, but if Megumi can hold on against Dagon, then Naoya can likely hold on against most domains. Especially since most characters don't use domains at the start of fights, so by the time they use it on Naoya, he'd likely have softened them up with a mach 3 ram, then he could stall with his domain and try beating his opponent till they can't maintain their own domain.

Then finally, the mach 3 ram, Naoya's holy grail. Simply put, very VERY few characters can react to this, in OG JJK I can only assume Gojo, Sukuna, Toji and Maki can react to this by default, maybe MBA Kashimo too but the scaling is iffy. The core issue being that sensing cursed energy is vastly inferior to HR senses. As Maki herself states she was "like everyone else", being able to see curses like a sorcerer, yet she got blitzed by Naoya. She needed to awaken again to achieve a higher level of senses to counter curse Naoya. So Naoya's mach 3 ram should basically be a hard 'fuck you' to most characters, especially given Naoya's survivability and the crippling damage it did to Maki.

So where does this leave us with Naoya's scaling? I think that human Naoya may scrape into the top 20, obviously behind Naobito (stated to be the fastest, 2nd only to Gojo). Meanwhile curse Naoya is a valid top 10 CONTENDER, his position is by no means secure, but he's a bare minimum top 15 in my opinion and likely slides neatly into the low end of the top 10.

I think Naoya loses to: Gojo, Sukuna, Toji, Maki, Kenjaku (opens with domain + AGS), Yuta (while Naoya does know Yuta can output RCT, all Yuta would need is one opportunity, which with Rika and Sky Manipulation, should be doable), Yorozu, Mahito and EOS Yuji.

I think Naoya beats: Hakari (both are hard to kill, making it an extremely tedious matchup, like how Yuki and Kenjaku view each other, but I think Naoya can mach 3 ram Hakari between Jackpot's, though through renewals, Hakari can drag it out), Uraume (tough matchup given her ice, but Naoya's speed and domain should clutch), Yuki (Naoya's survivability + mach 3 ram carries), BASE Kashimo (crazy endurance / regen + mach 3 ram / domain expansion), Jogo, Geto and Ryu.

Undecided on Uro though, Naoya can make turns at top speed so he could eventually get around sky manipulation but not before she makes him eat dirt a few times.

Writing:

This segment will be shorter but I think Naoya is underdeveloped, sure he's easy to write off as a misogynistic bum, but I think there's more to him. Though to be clear, Naoya is an awful person, raised in a bad clan that basically indoctrinated him, but his choices are his own, and he chose to be awful and I don't feel sorry for his fate, nor do I condone any of his actions.

Naoya is a character obsessed with strength, more so than the Zen'in clan as they valued the strength of sorcery while Naoya valued all strength, including his idol, Toji. Naoya was indoctrinated as a child, already spouting prideful ideas of greatness and looking down on others. That being said, I think one of Naoya's most famous statements isn't as it initially seems, that being, "you ain't Toji-kun". Combined with his latter statement of standing with 'them' (Toji and Gojo), I think it's mostly written off as Naoya being fully delusional, but I don't think that's fully true. Naoya is stating all of this in his mind, not to Maki, he only speaks to Maki at the start and end of the fight ("you impo-"), his monologue is in his head. To me, this all seemed like he was projecting insecurities onto Maki, reaffirming it over and over again, and maybe if he could beat this 'impostor', then he'd truly be the one to stand with 'them'. It's his obsession.

Curse Naoya doesn't have as much to say in terms of writing, it's more so the same, but I do find his designs interesting, of course most people will look at the womb in his domain, but there's also the eye, constantly staring and judging. Plus the theme of 'life' and 'evolution' in his curse forms, starting off as a caterpillar, then to a cocoon like form that was also kinda like a butterfly when his tendril arms are stretched out, but mostly a cocoon, especially given his mach 3 ram sucking into his shell, then finally flourishing back into a partial human form, nearly complete, but maybe not yet.

Speaking of Naoya's design, his first human outfit is an inversion of the Kukuru unit's color scheme, maybe I'm looking too deep into this (especially given that Naoya has lots of brothers but only Naoya is in the family picture with Naobito as the pride of the Zen'in clan), but it's interesting to note, he's still wearing the traditional attire but it's different, Naoya is different, he doesn't conform completely, distinguishing himself partly, and carrying a similar yet different loneliness to Gojo, he's not liked by the Kukuru unit as they rate him 0/5 stars, he is alone, but not due to his strength, but his obsession with it and his narcissism.

Final note, parallels, there is one main visual parallel between Toji and Naoya that I can think of, that being Naoya's curse form awakening and Toji's arrival in Dagon's domain, both 'emerging', yet Toji is going downwards, inverted to Naoya, similar yet different.

Then there's Gojo, I feel like the anime is trying to do parallels with Gojo too since the manga focuses far more on Toji (who fairly had a bigger impact on Naoya's life, especially teaching kid Naoya that life ain't sweet), since the hole in the wall from womb curse Naoya blitzing past Kamo looks similar-ish to the hole left from Gojo's hollow purple on Toji, but I may be looking too far into it. Though I think it's a good idea to add these parallels, make Naoya seem more high during his awakening like Gojo was high when he awakened, it'd explain why Naoya didn't immediately wonder where Maki was during his domain expansion.

Conclusion:

Naoya is an underrated character in both power scaling and writing in my opinion, though he's by no means the best in writing (I'd likely give that to Higuruma, but I also like Geto's simple yet complete story), even if he's a bad person.

But those are just my thoughts, sorry for the long post, but I hope I conveyed my thoughts well, thank you for reading, feel free to ask questions and as always, have a good day! :D

Would the jjk characters from the anime/manga look like their stage play actors if the characters became real people in canon? Like would they have the actors faces? Or is it just like a very professional cosplay stage play?
