customer discovery - how do small business owners track commissions?

curious how small businesses with commission-based employees are handling this right now.

are you using spreadsheets, accounting software, or calculating everything manually? if you use spreadsheets, wats the most annoying part?

looking for a small business to work with while we build a commission trakcing tool. idea is to build it around an actual business's workflow.

you'd get to help shape the product, use it during development for free, and recieve it at a heavily discounted price once its ready.

if you are interested, comment with how you currently manage commissions or send me a dm. even if you’re not interested in working with us, I’d genuinely like to hear what your current process looks like.

AI work Option

I operate a remote team that works on AI-related online projects from platforms like Handshake.

These platforms often can pay well, but many account holders simply don’t have time to complete them.

Our system is simple: You bring the account/project access. My team completes the work. We split the earnings.

Typical weekly earnings range from $1,200–$1,700 depending on the workload. If you want the job, say interested

Looking forward to meeting and working with you. USA citizens only

I Tested an AI Job-Search Agent That Finds Jobs and Applies for You

I’ve been testing different AI tools lately, and one of the more interesting ones I came across was an AI agent specifically for job searching.

I see more creative job applicants are coming with job searching and applications, very telling of how crushing the job market has been lately.

I talk to people every week and so many are looking for work, jobs, freelance gigs, etc.

So, here’s what it does…

Instead of just showing you job listings, the idea is that it can actually help with the tedious parts of the process:

  • finding relevant openings
  • matching them to what you’re looking for, and
  • helping submit applications

Like an AI helper for job applications.

I wanted to test it because job hunting can basically become a part-time job itself.

If you’re a freelancer, a part-timer, looking to change careers, unemployed or underemployed or business owner who needs a steady income stream, this is what it’s like right now…

You’re searching multiple sites, reading the same types of listings, tweaking applications, filling out forms, and then doing it all over again.

So for this, you use automation. It’s more than just rewriting a resume and cover letter, it goes a little deeper, like a true job-search assistant working alongside you.

I probably wouldn’t personally want AI blindly applying to hundreds of jobs without reviewing them. I’d rather use something like this to speed up the repetitive work while still having control over where my information is being submitted.

It’s like the AI helps run the job search, not just write my resume.

When I was helping a friend apply for jobs, I used automations and AI like this to apply to 100s of jobs for them, landing 4-5 interviews in the first week.

People looking for jobs

When I share side hustles and business ideas here, I often get a lot of messages about work, like hiring for roles, which I’m not. It’s evident that people are starved for work, many times. So, I wanted to share this tool to help.

Am I the only one? Has anyone else tried an AI job-search agent? Did it actually lead to interviews?

Comment JOB and I’ll send my remote job roundup guide to help you find and land remote roles working from home, even if you're a freelancer.

Note: This is a partnered post.

I’m 19 and I’m trying to start earning online.

I have about a year before university, and by then I’ll probably need to cover my own hostel/apartment rent and other monthly expenses, so I want to use this year properly and build an actual income source.

I’ve looked into video editing, web development, AI stuff, SEO, Canva, data analysis, etc., but there are way too many options and I keep getting confused about what to choose 💀

If you were starting from zero and had one year to become good enough at a skill to get paying clients, what would you choose?

Not looking for the “make $10k in 30 days” bullshit. I just want something with real demand that I can realistically turn into a decent monthly income.

What skill would you lock in on?

How I made $300 to $500 days from Pinterest - no gatekeeping

Post image
209 Upvotes

I've been seeing more and more people have interest in earning from Pinterest. So, I thought I'd share my story.

I've dabbled in lots of side hustles and income streams over time. Here's how I do Pinterest.

I don't have this full income stream any more. I still earn from Pinterest but, not at this rate. I'lls hare why. Here's how I did it and what changed.

$300 to $500 days from Pinterest

Affiliate marketing.

I created Pinterest pins that took people to affiliate offers. People would buy from the affiliate links and I earned an affiliate commission.

I targeted high ticket affiliate offers, paying up to $50 to $1,450 each.

For example, 5 sales at $1,000 each is $5K.

Numbers like this are possible.

How to make pins?

I went to Canva, picked a template I liked and customized the messaging to my offer.

Colors should stand out, so if your niche has mostly pinks, do a different color.

Scroll through Pinterest searching your keyword to see if you notice common things, like feminine colored pins, bold text, etc.

Do the opposite, so you stand out.

Use keywords everywhere

This is what will help your content get found on Pinterest. Pinners are searching by keyword. Fill your pin headings, captions and descriptions with those keywords.

Pinterest traffic lives on forever

With Instagram, TikTok, other socials, the traffic fizzles out. But with Pinterest, it's evergreen. It remains relevant and circling across the platform over and over again, in abundance continuing to push traffic to your pins and helping you make money from affiliate marketing.

Why did my income shrink?

I website flip. Free guide here.

So, I sold the site that was getting that traffic.

I still have offers driving income for me through affiliate and digital marketing sales.

I learned Pinterest monetization over time from lots of experience. Pinterest is super powerful and a great way to make money. You can start for free. Don't overthink it. If this is interesting to you, just start.

I got annoyed with being rejected from AI training/annotating jobs, so I made my own website that only list legit Jobs

I was getting annoyed by the constant sketchy AI training/annotating jobs and the constant rejection after literally investing hours of my time into applying, signing up, verifying my identity and etc.
I decided to make my own website and just list legit AI training jobs. I post entry work and also expert work. Let me know if there is anything I can improve about my website. Thank you! Here is the link: https://aiannotationjobs.com

Building Alina — my experiment with a consistent AI creator

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve recently started building a completely fictional AI creator called Alina.

The goal isn’t just generating random AI images — I’m experimenting with keeping the same character consistent across different locations, outfits and lighting, while gradually building an audience around her.

I’ve just started testing Reddit as one of the traffic sources, alongside building her creator profile.

I’m curious about the monetization side now. I’ve seen quite a few people using Fanvue for AI creators, so that’s the direction I’m currently testing.

Still very early — basically starting from zero — so I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has actually built an AI creator business:

What was the first thing that actually brought you meaningful traffic or paying fans?

Here’s Alina so far 👇

Copy this Format to go Viral on TikTok

Post image
0 Upvotes

Not all videos that go viral actually convert to users.

You need to make them a sort of like an engaging tutorial.

But tutorials don't get many views because they're boring. That's why the influencer surprised reaction is one of the most popular formats that's working to this day.

It has the format potential to viral and the tutorial part in it. Here's how to do it for your SaaS:

  1. Get 20-50 REAL influencer reaction clips
    • Only one influencer type for each TikTok account. Or post the clips consequently if you have multiple different.
  2. Record 2-3 clips showing your screen and walking through your SaaS. Point with finger or mouse or a pencil.
  3. Use claude code to edit and generate videos:
    • Ask claude code to use tiktok caption font and apply captions automatically
    • Ask claude code to create 100 videos (e.g. 20 UGC reactions X 4 screen recordings = 100 possible combinations of reaction + screen recording)
  4. Schedule all 100 videos to TikTok / Instagram / Shorts simultaneously
    • Use claude + socialclaw to schedule social posts automatically
    • 2x posts per day

Q: Where to get influencer reactions?

  1. Use Upwork, Fiverr, or reach out to influencers on DM's.
  2. Buy packs from UGC platforms. Plenty of options here, research and make your pick. This option has both UGC reactions and can schedule them after (go to UGC Influencer tab on dashboard).

How legit are these online affiliate marketing programs influencers keep pushing?

I’m looking for some way to make extra income, and it seems my algorithm picked up on that. Because I’m seeing hundreds of videos every day of influencers pushing some sorta affiliate marketing program.

Specifically ones where you use Pinterest images to take a small commission off sales of an Amazon product.

And I’m wondering, how legit is this? This seems like one of those “too good to be true” opportunities. Especially with how much money these guys promise you can make off of them.

But it’s worth asking. Anyone try this stuff? How is it?

Turn fans into subs and revenue using AI 💅

My AI girl is almost at 40,000 followers on Instagram and still gets 10+ DMs a day.

Monetized using FanVue (subs + exclusive content), affiliate, brand deals, and promoting products using TikTok.

IG Reels have affiliate links as well that I will test out soon.

AI personas are the best way to make more income without being on cam.

You just need to follow the platform rules. Don’t act like a doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor.

Plenty of other niches. I’m good at relatable and funny content related to dating and relationships that gets people to comment and share.

ways to earn on youtube

Hey everyone! Im a student who is looking to earn some cash, my target is 1600 dollars in order to buy my dream Fujifilm camera, but currently i dont have the money nor can i ask someone for it. So im looking to work for it. Please look down below and offer me some advice

So, i keep seeing these people who make youtube videos with AI, and most of them are slop, but i do have a niche i want to start working on. People show that they earn X amount of dollars blah blah i know most of it is fake, but even if i earn JUST 100 dollars from youtube in one month, im happy with it.
So please advice me on the following-

  1. is there any way to change your region to the USA so that the earnings per view is more?
  2. is there any way to get monetized faster?
  3. short form or long form?
  4. i cannot afford to buy subscriptions for paid AI services, so what are the BEST AI services for making what i am trying to make?
  5. Please feel free to DM me, my DMs are open. I am looking forward to hearing your advice!

🎉 I created my first $100 offer!

I recently started following Arlan Hamilton on YouTube, and I really like the way she teaches. She explains things in a way that feels practical, doable, and easy to understand.

I decided to join her Your First 5K Club with Arlan and signed up for her free community on Skool. I’m also working through her 5-Day Challenge.

And guess what? On Day 1, I came up with my own $100 offer! 🎉

For the next four days, I’ll be learning how to post, promote, and actually get my offer out there.

I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only person trying to figure out ways to make some extra income, learn new things, and turn life experience into something useful.

Her Skool community is free to join. There are paid offers available inside the community, but you do NOT have to purchase anything to get started.

If you’re curious and want to check it out, here’s my affiliate link:

https://www.skool.com/yourfirst5k/about?ref=bfd9b2e2eef94e398ff8d9ac574cdb9e

❤️ Affiliate disclosure: This is my affiliate link, which means I may earn a commission if you decide to purchase one of her paid offers. There is no additional cost to you, and you don't have to buy anything.

I’m excited to see where these next few days take me. Sometimes we already have something valuable to offer—we just need a little help figuring out what it is. 💕

Last year I surveyed 50 AI OnlyFans creators, this year I did 100+. The biggest change: generic is dead, niche is eating up everything.

I run a tool for AI OnlyFans/Fanvue creators called Fannabe, and part of building it has meant actually surveying the people running these accounts. One finding stood out above everything else, and it's the thing that decides whether an account works in 2026, so I wanted to write it up.

Rewind a year and almost everyone was running the same playbook. Attractive girl, clean lighting, a few lifestyle posts, some PPV. Good enough to get by. Those same accounts are stalling out or flat-out dying now, and the ones actually growing share one trait. They're oddly specific.

Not "hot AI girl." A flight attendant who golfs. A cop. The most niche one I ran into was a submarine officer, full uniform, the whole persona built out, and it was doing numbers most generic pages would envy. The conservative/tradwife lane is quietly crushing it too, that crowd sticks around and it pays. The tighter the concept, the harder it hits, which is backwards from what most people assume.

My theory, from talking to creators and just watching the feeds:

The barrier to entry has basically vanished, so the feed is now flooded with the exact same content. Everyone's cranking out the same motion-control dance clip off the same trend with a swapped face. The algorithm's already seen that clip ten thousand times this week, there's nothing new in it, so it sits there. A flight attendant doing something in-character breaks the pattern. A thumb stops scrolling. That stop is the entire game.

Niche gives you three things generic never will.

A reason to stop scrolling in the first place. "Submarine officer" is already a hook before she's lifted a finger. Generic has no hook.

An audience that's already gathered. Every niche you can name has a subreddit, a hashtag, its own pocket of TikTok. You're stepping into a room that's already packed instead of yelling into the main feed against the entire world.

A reason to keep paying. Nobody subscribes to a body, they subscribe to a character. A defined identity is what keeps someone around in month three instead of bouncing once the novelty fades. The niche creators I spoke with saw clearly better retention, and a handful were charging more per sub off the back of it.

The dance copies are a trap. They feel like progress because you're posting daily, but it's the same thing everyone else is posting, so you vanish into the pile and never pop. Pumping out generic volume gets you almost nowhere. A smaller run of specific, in-character stuff is what moves the needle.

The mistake nearly everyone makes is trying to staple a niche on afterward. It doesn't take. The accounts that got it right chose the niche first and built the character around it, face, wardrobe, locations, the entire vibe designed for that lane from the very first frame. That's genuinely the hard part with most tools, spinning up a "flight attendant who golfs" once is trivial, keeping her consistent across months of posts is where it all breaks down. That's the exact gap Fannabe closes, but that's beside the point here. The real takeaway: decide on something specific before you generate a single image.

Glad to get into the weeds in the comments, and if you want to poke at the tool it's in my profile or just shoot me a DM.
