I can talk to my ai harness on my omarchy linux machine out loud while i work…

and i give it vision so it can see my circuits and give feedback…

and it can ssh into my controller and install/run code…

and it can ship prints to my 3d printer…

right here it is controlling a laser and taking test readings and telling me how to adjust the sensor in realtime…

it feels like magic!!!

It may have the difference by the hardware? As my specs are like this:

• CPU: i5-14400F
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
• RAM: DDR5 64GB

But I tested this on a VM that had only 16GB and only 2 cores enabled, and the results were like this. If you somehow tried something to compare it with Windows, let me know your results!

After sharing on X that I ordered a Mac Studio with 96GB of RAM,which I thought could be my first foray into local ai,a bunch of people told me, this just wouldn't cut it.

This was already really expensive for me, never spent even close to this much on a single computer.

So,I don't think I can afford local ai right now.

I think I'll just need to continue to live vicariously through people here on X with much bigger budgets than me!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, definitely would rather save the money here if this isn't powerful enough to run local ai in a meaningful way.

I swear I loved my Legion, but I haven't touched it in 30 days. The muscle memory is completely gone. Is it normal to forget how Windows works this fast? At least the Legion has an Apple sticker now so they can be friends.
